They helped me when I got married & took my husband & his children ( my step-kids) into their practice. Later when I had children , with special needs, they handled them well . I had major issues from their birth, but Dr "J" wouldn't give up on me. He sent me to multiple types of therapy (water, message, dry needling & more) . he helped me when I had to take in my elderly mother with Dementia. When I was hurt at work & eventually DISABLED. He assisted with sending me to specialist for my Bicuspid Aortic Heart Valve & a connective tissue disorder, helped with pre-screening for 20 surgeries . I have trusted them with my & my family's health & life . They cared , they knew us by name and they were very nice/friendly & professional. Urgent care is urgent care, doesn't matter who is giving the care. The pain was extraordinary and I was hoping to be seen and given something quickly as it was not subsiding. I got here, signed in, and took a seat. Finally called to the desk and do all my check in processing with ID and insurance card. Then I waited again. The one good thing about this place is they at least tell you when you will be seen with screens and with text messaging. I get back, talk with the doctor, and get taken for an x-ray. Come back to the room and wait a few minutes. Doctor, who was lovely by the way, came back in and gave me the verdict. It was kind of what I was expecting. The doctor wrote some prescription and sent them off to the pharmacy. She also gave me instructions on what to do for follow up. Turns out what she suspected was what was confirmed. But I came back here again at a later date as I got hit with COVID. Yes, it is still around, and yes you can still catch it. I only came here to confirm it so that I could inform my work why I would be working from home. This time, it wasn't so pleasant of a visit. They weren't busy, but they left me wait in the waiting room forever and a day. Kind of brushed me off. I know we are all tired of it, but a little bit of compassion could have been put forth.

It is an hour drive for me to see him, but I think it's worth it. I have had many difficult issues to diagnose issues over the years - and he is patient, knowledgeable, and answers my questions without rushing me. As others have noted, this sometimes does cause wait times, but once he is with you, he is focused on you (I build the wait time into my schedule whenever I go in). His medical assistants and lab staff are also really quality professionals. Since being acquired by Adventist Group, it is true that the front desk staff quality has diminished. I am not sure why -- several have been there for years. But it is true that when you call, the wait time can be extensive and the staff seem annoyed to have to answer the phone and generally frustrated by work-related tasks. While sitting in the waiting room, I have observed the front desk staff place patients on hold for up to five minutes, so that they could finish personal conversations about non-work related issues (e.g., dating, celebrity gossip, etc.). I would suggest a review of the front desk staff - I think better quality staff could be found.

Unfortunately I developed an ear infection and bronchitis and fortunately I found Dr. Kinney and Metro Direct Care Medical. I was feeling too sick to try to sit in an ER and the house call from him saved the day and the entire trip. He took a careful medical history, and spent the time to listen as well as inform us of the diagnosis and the options. He prescribed the ear drops and medication that ensured I felt better within a few hours so that I was able to be present for our daughter and heal. He also helped us come up with the right decision not to fly until a few days later than planned to help heal the ear and bronchitis. I wish there was a doctor like him in the Bay Area!
