    #4 - Meatball soooooo good!
    Kimberly E.

This place is a hidden gem. Everything we had was amazing. Tommy helped us out and he was so friendly and inviting. It's more of a grab and go type of place with not many tables but they do indeed have some seating. The pizza was delicious!!!!! I'm still dreaming about it. Perfect amount of cheese and thin crust. We also had a meatball and it was bomb!!! My husband got a cannoli to go and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back.

    Hi
    Xavier G.

Our coaches had the pleasure eating at Tommy's Pizza and Subs, their pizza and deli sub did not disappoint. Amazing staff. We had their pepperoni pizza and meat lovers pizza and not a thin pizza at all very filling with a crispy crust!! Their deli sub was fresh and packed with delicious fillings. Highly recommend!!

I couldn't finish my food, so they wrapped it up for me.

I came here to just to grab a quick bite to eat, and I must say...the service was great, the food was even better. I am most definitely coming back.

I got 9in meatball sub and my wife got the 6in Philly and both were outstanding! Definitely coming back. Place is super clean, not expensive and worth checking out!

Worst meal ever. For $60 bucks!!! Where do I even start....veggie calzone; TONS of ricotta cheese and black olives. Mushrooms, a few specs of green bell pepper and a little red onion. No flavor whatsoever. Pepperoni pizza; husband said it was liking eating cardboard. Antipasto salad; the meat tastes like it sat out in the kitchen all day. A TON of olives (again, too many) the 4 slices of tomato were fresh and tasty. Italian dressing awful too. Super disappointed.

It's entrance for now. Waiting for the signage.

Tommy's has an INCREDIBLE Works Pizza. When we're in the mood for something lighter, we order one of their great salads.

Apparently this place is open again under new management. I walked in while my kid was next door at…read morekarate. I was starving. Used to be a grilled cheese place which I never tried because I like meat in my sandwiches. Then the last owners I'm sad to say I didn't visit either but today I walked in and realized they have one of the best steak tortas I have had in the US. If you're from tj they are like the tortas at the "car wash" next to giussepis. If you know you know. Very nice sized bread, toasted on both sides with a chipotle sauce, fresh jalapeños, lots of avocado, the steak was fresh and delicious. Half a torta was enough to get me through for a while and now I have a great evening snack after Jiu Jitsu. Owner said the chicken torta was even better. Hard to believe but maybe I'll get one for the wife. They have Acai with champs like a Mangonada. It's a pretty cool spot that could become a staple if enough people find it.

Esmeralda, who made my order, was so friendly and welcoming, guiding me through the menu and letting me know that the Birria grilled cheese is a favorite. Now, about the sandwich--wow! It was buttery toasted and packed with an impressive amount of cheese and meat, truly a delightful indulgence. It also came with a side of consomé for dipping, along with a refreshing lime slice, which complemented the flavors perfectly. Fruitylicious offers a fantastic range of options since they've transitioned from being a cheese grill sandwich place to a full-service spot with both Mexican and American cuisine. Besides the grilled cheese, they also have ice cream, shakes, fruit juices, and specialty drinks that I can't wait to try on my next visit. If you're looking for a delicious meal and a warm atmosphere, I highly recommend stopping by. You won't regret it and bring the kids as they have Jenga and Connect for fun for the family.

They're under…read morenew management and you can absolutely tell -- the service was welcoming, attentive, and the overall vibe felt fresh and inviting. The food was AMAZING. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. The meats were juicy and flavorful, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous. You can really taste the quality in every bite. It's so nice to see a local spot elevate like this. If you haven't been in a while, definitely give them another try. The new management is doing a fantastic job, and I'll definitely be back!

The Good: I ordered a "family platter for 5". I was worried that it wouldn't be enough, as we had 5…read moreadults, a teen, and toddler. There was easily enough food for 10 people. The meat and rice were both good, I didn't have any of the issues I'm seeing in other reviews with the meat being dry or anything, all the meat was solid and good. The hummus was also good. The bad: this was the second time I had eaten from here and I had the same experience both times: the meat n rice were good, solid. But the vegetables and sauces were low quality and kinda poorly made. The tomatoes and onions were poorly roasted and the yogurt sauce wasn't very good. These are the little details that can make a huge difference and boost an eating experience from good to great. I will certainly be eating here again, BUT, it will be under pretty specific circumstances, like feeding a lot of people. I will have a hard time choosing this for a lunch or dinner over other places in east county that are a bit better on the margins
