Really sad they changed owners and the sauce isn't what it was. My heart is broken the previous owners made the most perfect deep dish pizza I've ever eaten. They used a special imported tomatoes and a special imported cheese. The perfect amount of spice to the sauce. My heart is broken. Also I was extremely sad that the original owners had sold the business. I only ate there shortly after the first owners sold it. They have had time to work on the recipe so it is possible that they've gotten better. I used to live down the street from the OG spot. The OG owner had a serious passion for pizza. Every time I went in he'd pop out with a sample of what he was experimenting on, it was the best. Not sure if it's new Owner or just an investor that wants to increase profit at the expense of quality, but todays deep dish was not the same -sauce is still great. Cheese is good. Dough is lacking a little. I'd like to give some advice to any restaurant owner including this one. NEVER sacrifice quality for price. If u need to, increase prices, but NEVER lower the quality to increase revenue. Maybe this was an "off night" or maybe this is their new standard. Went to this restaurant on a whim. Pros Really appreciated that they have games here to play while you wait. It makes the atmosphere fun and light-hearted, also was great for the kids. The food here tasted great, we went for Chicago style Polish, brat, and some kids hot dogs. Personally I liked the Polish dog the most, it was very tasty. Looking back I wish I would have tried the pizza, it looks great. The service here was good, the workers were very polite and patient. Parking is pretty straightforward and there is plenty of it, and the bathroom was clean and adequate. Pricing is decent. For lunch I like to try to be cheap, but considering what we got, I can't complain about the price. When I worked there the standard was held high and there wasn't many complaints and talk about the pizza and sandwiches being so blah. Been wanting to go back but these reviews aren't helping. I've been wanting to try Chicago Pizza Company for a while now and we finally ordered some pizzas today. I was super excited as they looked awesome. We ordered 3 pies: The Halsted: Meatballs, bacon, pepperoni and sausage The Rush: Sausage, bacon & onion with BBQ sauce The Madison: Pineapple, pepperoni, bacon & onions. We requested no onions on the pies. The Halsted was fabulous. 8/10 The sauce had a sweet side to it that was delightful and the sausage counterbalanced it wonderfully as it has a little kick to it. The other two? Well, they could have been equally delicious, but both were ruined as there were onion on both. I pulled my toppings back and did my best to pull out the onion. Another just ate the pizza as is, but complained the whole time, and the third just wouldn't eat either pie. Apparently when giving a phone order, you really need to have the other person read back the order. Multiple times if need be. Either that, or the company needs to make sure their order taker knows how to listen. I really wanted to give them a rave review because that first pizza was one of the best I've had in a while, but when 2/3 are a wrong order, that makes it tough to do. I'll be taking the leftovers to work tomorrow and passing the slices off to some of my coworkers who like onions. read more

They claim to be a genuine Chicago-style pizza place. If you've never been to Chicago, you could believe it. Being born and raised there, however, the gap is pretty wide. Don't get me wrong, it's not that their food is bad, but for me, it's all about managing expectations. They try to be Chicago-style, but they don't make the grade. Chicago-style Italian sausage is more like a blend of mild and sweet; the Italian sausage here is hot.
