We did extensive research before selecting a contractor because it was an expensive project that we felt we couldn't afford to get wrong. Precision stood out from the other companies because of their attention to detail and fair pricing. After a phone discussion with April and visit from Phil a few days later, we were furnished with a quote that was much more detailed than any of the other contractors we spoke with. The excavation work and repair was performed over a three day period by Phil and Andrew. They were able to skillfully repair our system using high quality materials, and insured that zero damage was done to the surrounding areas of our property. April filed all the necessary paperwork with the county. Since the repair was completed the system has worked as designed, which was a great relief to us.

First of all, the price was less than half of what we had thought. They completed all work for the permitting and completed all of the approvals. The project was on time, work was tidy and it works! The project came in under budget. Our kids can play on the lawn again. We were happy with the whole process. It was a wonderful experience!

I initially contacted Tyndall Septic Services in Brewster, NY since they had good reviews on the…read moreinternet but they were backed up for 2 months. So I contacted Eastern States Septic Co in regards to my sewer system not working. They were available. (Maybe this was a sign from above.) They had serviced my sewer system four months ago to fix a float switch and reset alarm ($150 charge) and empty the tank ($325 charge) - $510 bill with tax. I spoke to Ritchie and was disappointed that I needed his service again. Since he did not like my attitude, he hung up on me. I called him back since I needed some body and they were local. He knew very little about the system even though he had serviced it four months ago. So I found the invoice of the plumber who installed the pump 14 months ago and told him that a Liberty 50E pump was installed. He said that these are pumps sold at the Home Depot stores and any respectable plumber would not have installed such a pump. In the meantime, he only installs Goulds pumps which he claims are much better. Curious, I decided to investigate this Liberty pump. I called Best Plumbing in Westchester County. They only sell Zoeller and Liberty pumps to plumbers and Liberty is a popular brand with them. I emailed another plumbing distributor. They sell Goulds and Liberty pumps. They claim that they are both made in the USA and are both good but the Liberty is less expensive. Finally, at the link below, Liberty is listed as a top rated pump. In conclusion, I feel that Eastern States Septic just wants to sell a more expensive pump to make more money. https://www.sumppumpsdirect.com/stories/726-Top-Rated-and-Best-Selling-Sewage-Pumps.html Ritchie finally agreed to service my sewer system. He pumped out the tank for a $325 charge and found that the pump was disconnected from the outtake pipe. He charged $150 to reconnect it which I thought was expensive. I asked him if the plumber who initially installed it did not connect it correctly. He never answered me. I also asked him if the tank could have been emptied by connecting a pump to the outtake pipe, thus saving $325. He never answered me. I called a local plumber after their work was completed and he stated that he would have put a pump into the tank and connected a hose to the outlet pipe in order to empty the tank thus saving me a $325 charge. In conclusion, Eastern State Septic completed the job (time will how well they completed their work) but both jobs could have been done for at least $650 less ($325 charge to empty the tank.) In conclusion, they are not looking out for the best interest of their customer. Their interest is to maximize revenue for their firm at the expense of the customer. By the way, I found the Westchester County Licensed Septic Collectors list after their work was completed. It seems that there are several options. https://health.westchestergov.com/images/stories/realty/septic/SepticContractorsDec2018.pdf https://health.westchestergov.com/images/stories/realty/septic/SepticCollectorsDec2018.pdf

I don't quite understand the negative review above, sounds like the guy was more concerned with saving every possible penny than getting reliable service, which Richie provides. No BS!
