I am going into month 3 of having a nonfunctioning, unuseable outdoor kitchen which still remains a half built shell on my back deck because Sal sold me a damaged, subpar outdoor kitchen which he refuses to provide any level of customer service! This business owner cares about one thing and one thing only... HIMSELF! He does not care what happens to you after your check or credit card clears! As seen in the attached image, Sal from NYC fireplaces has revoked even the smallest simplest gesture of customer service since I wrote a negative review! This man thinks his word is all that matters in this world and does not believe that actions speak louder than words! Another tit for tat expectation from a shotty self centered looser of a business owner! RUN RUN RUN from this company! Go to absolutely anyone else! This man is a thief. This man is a corrupt business owner. My credit card company says numerous people have opened claims against this man! Even the OEM manufacturer of the kitchen island has said they will be refusing to allow this man to represent their company moving forward! Do not fall for all his positive reviews! They are admitted friends who he has leveraged to boost his scores!

They had the best price I could find online which is why I went with them. A few days after the order I realized I had made a mistake - I ordered a dual fuel wood/natural gas oven, when I actually needed dual fuel wood/propane. I called and spoke to Luca who immediately made the change in their system. The oven was delivered the next day and the delivery person was extremely courteous and helpful. Again, I made another mistake. I forgot to order the stand to put the pizza oven on. I called Luca again and he took payment for the stand and offered to waive the FedEx costs since I paid for assembly initially. That would have been great customer service already, but to go a step further, Luca called me back and said they would put it on a truck and deliver it that same day. Such a great experience!

I chose a multi tier adjustable gas flame product with remote control, and the price quoted for the entire unit and installation was extremely competitive. I called this morning at 9:30 AM and left a message that I was interested in a gas fireplace insert. Since I did not hear back for a couple of hours (which itself was a bad sign), I decided to visit the showroom. My mistake. When I arrived, the door was locked so I rang the doorbell which looked to have an intercom and a buzzer which would allow the door to be unlocked from inside or have someone say they were coming to let me in. I waited for a couple of minutes but I did not get a response. I rang again and again didn't get a response. I tried to open the door thinking the buzzer might be broken but that the door might have been unlocked. I looked at the signs and confirmed that the showroom was supposed to be open. At this point, I was thinking that I drove 20 minutes to the showroom only to find it was closed. After waiting for another couple of minutes, I tried ringing a third time. I thought I might have heard the intercom or the buzzer so I tried to open the door. All of a sudden, the door flew open and I was confronted by what can only be described as a deranged man with a face contorted by anger. He got up in my face yelling at me to "stop shaking my door." Before I could even get out a single word explaining to him that I had been waiting for 5 minutes and was a customer just trying to visit his showroom, he screamed at me to "get the f/k outta here." I actually thought he might get violent. The entire episode lasted for less than a minute. He actually did me a favor by yelling me at to leave. If you are reading this, you too should listen to him and never enter the store. After reading some of the online reviews, I'm assuming this person is Victor, who has been variously described as unreasonable, obnoxious, condescending and rude. I can only add that the person that confronted me was an angry, miserable person with psychological issues. I can't imagine the headaches someone would have if they did purchase anything from this Company and had to deal with this person.

Chimney Plus owner, Rich, responded to our phone message promptly. We discussed the situation, he was very open about his experience and the cost. On the day of the inspection, Rich showed up on time, and was very thorough and informative. Plus he offered helpful advice regarding other ways of sufficiently heating our home. We highly recommend Chimney Plus, and will definitely go to Rich for all of our chimney advice! Thank you for reading.

i don't normally write reviews, and apologies for the length of this one, but I have to give a huge…read moreshout out to Rich and Chimney Plus. I have a gas fireplace that would not stay lit. I tried a couple fireplace repair services who replaced every component of the fireplace and concluded that the problem was in exhaust pipe and starving the flame of oxygen. I was told I need to find a chimney guy who would likely have to rip it out and replace it. This would be an extremely messy and costly job. I got Rich's name from recommendations I found on Facebook. After speaking with him a couple times about my situation, he told me he doesn't deal with that type of installation. I told him I was stuck because nobody has been able to figure it out. He offered to take a look and made it absolutely clear that he also may not be able to find a solution. I was impressed by his need to set expectations and told him to come and give it a shot. Rich came the next day and in less than 5 minutes he told me "It's not the pipe, it's something electronic. The fireplace is shutting down, not suffocating." He then went up on the roof to confirm that the fireplace was exhausting as it should. He didn't know what the issue was though, and honestly, he could have left at that point. Afterall, I hired him to check the exhaust pipe, which he did. He began to question me about how the fireplace works and what parts were replaced. Then he asked, "do you control the fireplace from that remote?". I said yes and he asked "have you tried another remote?" The remote is the only part that had not been replaced and nobody ever thought of it being the possible cause. We played around with some settings on the remote and suddenly the fireplace was staying lit. Again, Rich could have left at that point. Instead, he stayed about two hours and read through the entire installation manual to see if there could be anything else causing the issue. He suggested I try a few things (furniture was in the way so we couldn't do it right then). He then left but returned a few minutes later to check the gas lines to be sure they were sufficient to support all of the gas appliances in the house. He was determined to check everything! Rich then left, but called me multiple times that day with additional ideas as he continued to research my fireplace online. A couple days later he left printed copies of the documents he found online in my mailbox. All of this was done as part of the initial call! The fireplace is still working. I think his initial instinct about the remote causing the issue was correct. A couple times that the fireplace went out since then, I played around with the remote and it re-lit and stayed list. I'm going to order a new remote which I'm confident will solve the problem completely. Rich is a rare find. He's a nice guy who cares. He went above and beyond and saved me a lot of headaches and a lot of money. I can't recommend Rich and Chimney Plus highly enough.

Being in the construction field, I had a few concerns with the install and they assured me not to worry. they made sure that I understood that if anything happened, they would return to rectify the issue. When I reached out about a leak less than a year later, they mentioned fixing it but... with a 4-month delay and offered that I could hire a local roofer if I would like. I asked if they could cover the cost of a local roofer, given it was their work. Unfortunately, the response was a firm refusal, citing the minimal nature of the leak and its unusual occurrence. Their email to me: "No I will not cover the cost of a roofer. The leak is minimal and more strange it hasn't started since the beginning. Is this happening every so often or only on very windy and heavy rains or because snow is sitting up there." Should leaks only happen on rare occasions during specific weather conditions after a woodstove is installed? In my opinion, any leak for any reason, needs to be dealt with immediately. I had anticipated better service, especially from a recommended and seemingly kind company. It appears their commitment to quality diminished after the payment was made. I hope they address these concerns and prove themselves as a reputable company. I will update this review accordingly. Update: I received the following message from Michael the day after posting my review: "I appreciate the 1-star review. Why don't you call me and talk to me like a man before going on the internet and crying to everyone. 845-661-5148." Grateful for this last message, as it gives me further insight into the nature of the person/company I was dealing with.
