My husband and I are SO happy that we trusted Tom's Country Place with our wedding ceremony and reception. Everything was absolutely perfect for our special day. Ashley is incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive. She answered our million questions leading up to the day. On the day of, we were cutting it close with whether or not our ceremony would be able to occur outdoors due to rain. She was so calming and walked us through the rain plan while also assuring us that we would be able to do it outdoors if the rain stopped for the 30 minutes of our ceremony. Luckily we were able to do it outdoors and the crew quickly wiped off all of the seats and made sure everything was dry before our guests arrived! Ashley and her team also went above and beyond with coordinating with our other vendors to make sure our day was seamless and perfect. We did not need a day of coordinator because the team at Tom's is so professional and helpful with coordinating so much on site. The team even set out our favors at each place setting for us! Everything looked more beautiful that either of us could have ever expected! The wait staff was incredible and continually checked in on my husband and I during the reception to see if we needed anything more to eat or drink. Also I cannot say enough about how AMAZING the food is. The alfredo pasta was such a huge hit and we got compliments all night about how delicious everything was! We are so so happy that we went with Tom's!

My husband and I had the most amazing time here a few weeks ago for our wedding! The venue is absolutely beautiful and everyone kept talking about how stunning it was. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, as well as the event coordinator Ashley! She made everything so easy for us and she always responded to our questions fast. The entire reception the staff was bringing my husband and I drinks, going above and beyond, and just making sure the night ran smoothly. it was the most beautiful night and anyone who has their wedding here will be so happy! I cannot thank everyone at Tom's Country Place enough!!

The ballroom for the 200 minimum people space - the chandeliers are a great touch

We contacted Blue Ribbon Catering, and they were incredibly helpful. Not to mention, they were patient and kind as we asked a multitude of questions to gain clarity. Everyone was very patient, especially Melissa, with whom we were in constant contact regarding the event. She made everything so easy to understand. Many of our guests had different food allergies, and they were able to accommodate us as best as they could. Everything was wonderful, and people raved about the food. The team was very professional; they showed up on time and had the food ready to go. Prices were also very reasonable, which we really appreciated since we were planning a wedding on a budget. It was definitely worth it. We had Vanessa as our private caterer, and she was incredibly kind to every single guest. She even helped my mom set up an entire dessert table that my mom had prepared separately. Vanessa didn't have to do that, but she was willing to help. Overall, our experience with Blue Ribbon Catering felt very comforting and family-like. We highly recommend them, and if we have another event up north in Ohio, we will absolutely be contacting them again.

My husband brought me lunch from here and it was awesome. I had the Greek chicken wrap and he had the chipotle ranch turkey wrap. I loved the Greek wrap- tons of flavor and a perfect size. The turkey wrap was good but not as delicious as the Greek wrap. Both were good sized for the price and great lunch options. It's clear they use quality ingredients and care about their food! Definitely swing by and grab an easy, healthy lunch here! On top of that- my husband picked up a prepared freezer meal for us to try! Bourbon chicken with red skin potatoes. With two young children, I can't wait to pop this in the oven one night and enjoy an easy meal. So awesome that they offer these and such a variety of options as well. These would be great to grab and share as gifts with people going through health or other issues. I don't know anywhere else in the area that offers this and it's so great to know! Thankfully my husband brought home a menu so I could peruse all the options they have. I can't wait to try some of their other options!

Ahern's is all of these things and they made our reception this past February truly fantastic. Lucy is the no-nonesense, very capable manager. She essentially served as our personal party planner before and during the event and took care of everything, communicating with the other vendors (DJ, photographer, florist, etc.) and making sure the party continued to progress so we could just sit back and enjoy our guests. Aherns is their own caterer and can do either a sit-down meal or buffet (or cocktail reception) with almost endless entree options. We went with the buffet and an open bar so guests could enjoy as much or little as they wanted and it worked perfectly. I think we were pretty low key but did have a few special requests and they were professionally executed by the staff. There are two banquet halls of different sizes but they have separate entrances and bathrooms and a service hallway runs between them so you wouldn't even notice if another event was happening during yours. The halls are already very elegant so we didn't spend any money on decorating other than flower centerpieces but the space could certainly accommodate any over-the-top additions you might want.

Kept it cool the entire night, plenty of space for guests, friendly staff, and the food was SO good. It's hard to find good catered wedding food. I co-hosted a wedding shower at this venue on August 14th. Without the assistance of family,…read morefriends, and the bridesmaids, it would have been an unmitigated disaster. We booked the place at least three months earlier after meeting with then manager, Shannon. We were promised everything would be done: setup, linens on the table, and plates and silverware for 60 people. We ordered three sandwiches: chicken salad sandwich, vegetarian sandwich, and a turkey sandwich. Accompanying that was to be fruit salad and a green salad. Shower was to start at 12 noon and we made arrangements to come in at 10:30 a.m. to decorate and set out the cake and desserts. The above was confirmed with new manager "Mitch" on August 3rd (at an in person meeting) and on August 12th (during a telephone call). We also advised him that we would be paying in cash to avoid any credit card service fees. He responded that that would not be a problem. We arrived the morning of the shower at 10:30 a.m. to find a gentleman mopping the floor and absolutely NOTHING prepared. There were no tablecloths on the table - nor could any be found - and my sister was told upon arrival that they were "not sure if they even had plates and utensils for 60 people"! I immediately went out to find tablecloths and plates and, luckily, my sister-in-law had several linens that she brought over and we were able to cover the tables. I purchased appetizer and dessert plates just in case they were needed (and yes, they were needed). Our group had to set up the extra tables while the venue managed to scrounge up two black tablecloths for those two tables. The shower started at noon and I noticed the appetizers were not yet put out. However, two of the sandwiches, the chicken salad and the vegetarian, were sitting out at the end of the serving area. Just sitting there in what has to be the sorriest presentation of food I have ever seen. The chicken salad was to have lettuce and tomato on it and the vegetarian, which was "chef's choice", was a spread of hummus, with some having sprouts and/or a tomato on it. I asked for the appetizers to be put out and when they arrived the amount served was woefully inadequate for the number of people it was contracted to serve. Also, they were brought out without serving utensils and without the dip to go with the veggies. There were no appetizer plates put out so we used those bought at the beginning of the day. Since the sandwiches were on the counter, people began lining up to eat and I had to announce several times that we were still missing the two salads and the turkey sandwiches. They were finally brought out - had to wait again for the salad dressings - and it did not take very long for the salad to be depleted. When they were advised that the salad bowl needed to be replaced, we were told that that was all that was to be given. They were advised that the salad was to serve 60 and that only little more than 1/2 of the guests had eaten. They did eventually bring another salad to serve. Another embarrassment happened when the bartender tried to charge a guest $3.00 for her diet Coke (soft drinks were included in our deal). She declined to pay. At the end of the event, after cleaning up, we were presented with a bill that included the service charge. We asked to speak to Mitch about a reduction in the bill based on the horrible experience and the bartender told us that Mitch said there would be no reduction and that the bill was "as is". We demanded to speak with him and said we were not paying the full price. Mitch appeared and, during the back and forth, it came out that (1) the real chef was on vacation and he was handling the chef's duties; (2) that because he was obligated to attempt to fill the chef's role, he was running around trying to do everything himself. He claimed it was due to being short-staffed but it is apparent that it was a lack of preparation; and (3) that he thought that the tablecloths were only needed for the 2 extra tables, despite stating at our August 3rd meeting that he would need to order them. We received a nominal credit to the bill. The venue itself was very nice, especially when decorated by the family and friends of the bride. The guests were happy to celebrate our bride and, hopefully, the bad food and faulty service will be overlooked and will not reflect poorly on the hosts and family. Thankfully, we were able to bring in our own delicious desserts - cream puffs, tarts, cheesecake with berries, Irish soda bread, and cake - and they went a long way to making up for the bad food. The salads, and the lemon vinaigrette dressing, were particularly good. The bride enjoyed her shower (thankfully, she was too busy to eat!) and, at the end of the day, that made the event a success. I would not recommend The Copper Cup to anyone looking for an event space until they get a better, more knowledgeable team in place.

I planned my wedding in about a month and a half and The Clifton Barn pulled it off flawlessly. Comparatively to other venues, it's in the middle ground as far as pricing, however they do not charge a facility or staffing fee, (almost) everything is built in, so that's definitely a bonus. \ We had our wedding in late November, but a spring/summer/fall wedding can be held outdoors on their beautiful patio with a really cool fire pit. (we had our ceremony inside in front of the fire place and it was great) They have a really cool lounge loft that we did our first looks in and those pictures were my favorites. We had 60 for dinner, I'm sure you could go higher, but it was a very comfortable number for us especially since using the patio as part of the space wasn't really an option. The dinner was awesome, it is owned by the same owner as Strip next door, and I highly recommend the steak. It's also nice because Old Avon Village has two restaurants for rehearsal dinners and lots of parking and photography options.
