We wanted to grab something local before heading to the airport and gave Toms a try. When you think Drive In you think of classic good food. We ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, burgers, shakes and cheese curds. The burgers were flavorless and my kids compared it to McDonalds....which they dislike. The cheese curds tasked of old grease. The shakes were not smooth and full of crunchy ice. Not enjoyed and we threw most of the food and drinks away. I don't know how people like Toms I've tried them on and off for years I don't know maybe with the thought that they would be better but they aren't. It's always a weird greasy taste, and fries are gross. I don't get what the big deal is. Service is always slow went through the drive through a couple times and waited a minimum of 20 min with only 2 people ahead of us inside was probably about the same. Went to the drive thru. I think if you order a burger with pickles, onions and mustard that there's a reasonable expectation that you will get it that way. Not so much. Swimming in catchup, some pickles, and no evidence of any onions. Also, a patty that is dryer than an oxen's fart. Piper Hoffman was very kind and understanding when taking my order, as I had never been here before. The food was out very quickly, and it was delicious. The family pack is a great option for a large number of people, and with five people in our family, it was a great pick. Coke and Pepsi Located right next to McD, Tom's is a great alternative. I stopped here while in town as my Appleton go-to was out of reach with Oktoberfest going on. I liked the fact that they offer both Coke and Pepsi. I had a double cheese with fries and would say it's similar to what you'd get at someplace like Culvers and the prices were reasonable. Service was super friendly. The menu has so many options and I head the cashier ask someone else if they'd like something custom off-menu. read more

My second favorite local burger joint (JD's being #1). Great burgers, awesome cheese curds, LOVE they way they do the bacon for their burgers. I try to come here everytime I am in town visiting family. I re-lived a bit of my childhood today and got a bubble gum flavored slushie. Delicious! Great service. Me and the gal pals got icecream earlier today. Overall, it was pretty good minus the one peanut butter twist cone we got. We asked for it to be in a dish and a cone because of the mess but that wasn't where the issue was though. We got like either mint syrup or green food coloring in it because her icecream was all light green at the bottom of her cone. Maybe it was a mistake, but it definitely was a surprise! read more

Tom's is an institution here in the Fox Valley. They's been around since I was a kid, and their quality and customer service has always been top notch. Tom's is a burger joint, sure, but have many other menu items including popcorn, snow cones and such. I love that they offer a veggie burger! Their fries are okay, although I prefer crisper fries than the ones they serve. They's always hot, fresh, and tasty, though! They do a brisk drive-through business, but stop into the place sometime. Great vintage car photos and "skid marks" on the floor. Lots of fun! read more

The Fox Valley is lucky to have Tom's. Great fast food, huge variety, and gigantic portions for a very reasonable price. This is our go-to place for the days we're swamped and can't make dinner at home. Quality is somewhere between Mc Donald's and Culvers. Stopped in and got a cheeseburger, chicken sandwich and a twist cone. The cheeseburger was warm but really lacked anything special. The picture items on the menu show a burger packed with veggie toppings and a sesame seed bun. I got a cheeseburger with sparse limp toppings and no sesame seeds to be seen. The twist cone was fantastic and it is getting harder to find them around lately. I would try them again to see what a full meal would be like. read more

I've given Toms 3 chances over the last few years. Tonight was the last chance. I got $31 worth of food with my gf. I myself got the chipotle chicken wrap. It was 70 percent lettuce had dry chicken and MAYBE a tsp of chipotle. It was terrible. I wont be giving them my business again. Ever. read more

Fabulous local fast food- if you have a choice between Tom's and McDonalds when you are in Appleton and you choose McD's you are certifiably insane. A must is to get the cheese curds or mozzarella sticks when you go here. Ice cream is good as well- my kids love it there. Reasonable prices, and one caveat- you MUST eat the food while it is hot. Tom's is delicious when eaten right away, but the fries give you a crisco feel on the roof of your mouth if you let them get cold before you eat them! read more

Stopped in the other day, so using this location for a review, but all of the Tom's are mostly the same. Like some other said, after moving away to the Milwaukee area, Tom's is total comfort food for me whenever I return to the Fox Valley. I miss the burgers and fries so much....and peanut butter cup Arctic Blasts. Yum. The burgers are nothing fancy, typical fast food size, but they always just taste..."fresh". I know that's a weird way to summarize a greasy fast food burger, but it tastes like it was just made and has a decent firmness/texture for a thin fast food burger. I can tell I'm eating a burger and not just mush on a bun. As a kid growing up in Appleton, I ate so much Tom's (on Wisconsin Ave across from the old Appleton Papers) that I eventually grew sick of it and took it for granted. As an adult, I now miss it so much! read more

Excellent ice cream treats! The restaurant is clean, the service is good and the ice cream is really yummy. Most shakes melt and become too liquid very quickly, but the mint shake I had at Tom's stayed thick and creamy. The prices are also very reasonable. We will definitely return. read more

I moved to Colorado 20 years ago and every time we are in town we have to make a Toms stop at least once!
