    Small bar area.

Food and services were great. The ambience is somewhat dark with a medieval timeframe decor. Prices are moderate, food servings are plentiful. Everything was served Hot with a nice presentation. Food was very tasty. Here in the area, I would highly recommend trying it.

Friar Tucks is a staple of Oshkosh. It's been here longer than me. When I got introduced to it I knew I'd be coming back. My review will focus on this visit. The food was good. I ordered a French onion soup and a medium-rare burger with some changes to what came on it. It came out missing the bbq sauce. I inquired and the bartender said she had forgotten to grab it, problem solved. When I cut in to the burger it was a little more rare then I was expecting. But it was still good. Props to the cooks!! The service was a little slow at times and it wasn't that busy when I happened to be there. The staff was standing around talking to a "local" mostly which I think made them not as attentive. Easily fixable just don't indulge the rather loud "local" customer. Service is the reason it's not 5 stars. Food quality, taste, and timing are all reasons for the 4+ stars.

Food was amazing, bread was homemade and fresh. atmosphere was so cute and love the theme. Server was helpful and very observant

    Friar Tucks "well done burger".

I was served and under cooked burger, see the picture. Slightly afraid I might get sick. And I had ordered well done. This is first time I've been to the Oshkosh Friar Tucks but I've been to the one in Fond Du Lac many times. My dad and I meet there about once a month as Fond Du Lac is about half way from Green Bay (Dad) and Madison (me). If this review was for the FDL location I'd give it five stars. Reasonably good food with HUGE portions for a great price. Good service as well. But unfortunately today Dad and I wanted to se a movie so we met in Oshkosh. Server wasn't friendly but not rude. She never check back on us though otherwise I would have asked them to refire my burger. If you've ever been to a Friar Tucks you'll know it very dark so at first I didn't catch how under done my "well done" was for the first few bites. The consistency though was that of raw beef. then I sliced it open and it was bright pink almost the whole way through. So not a happy customer here and really hope I do t get sick.

Great food and service. We both had a sandwich with a side. No complaints. Definitely will return when we are in the area again.

The staff was great and the fries were wonderful but my prime rib sandwich had more fat than meat.

The beautiful bar area was filled and they had reserved a table for us near the fireplace. Allie was our server and we will be back just to visit with her! She was super friendly, efficient, and kept checking back with us to replenish drinks and food as needed. The seafood bisque soup was piping hot and so flavorful. Two of us had the Black Forest sandwich which were overflowing with meat (ended up taking half home for later!) The Deluxe burger was juicy with mushrooms and onions, cooked to perfection, and the Chalice sauce was delicious. I should have taken photos of the food but to be honest we inhaled everything while we kept talking. Again Allie was a consummate professional--she made sure we never had to ask for a refill -- she was just there when we needed her. We will be back again!

I'm not sure if they take reservations but if you really want a table check in advance. The drink selection is great. The food menu is heavily geared towards sandwiches and burgers. Given the vibe, I'd love to see a bit more main course menu items. That said, the appetizer we got was a potato thing (starts with a W) and it was phenomenal. Lots of seasoning with onions, and a huge quantity. A few could easily share and careful you might get full. Also great as a family style side for the table.

Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. She was very helpful with the how to identify what is gluten free (there is a "gf" next to the item). Gorgeous space right on the lake and even though we were there in winter, it was still a pretty sight to look out the windows. The restaurant was packed with regulars and the it was a fun Friday night, I'm glad they took reservations. We started out with drinks, which had a separate menu. Not the easiest to navigate for the specials as they just had funny names and not what was in it. Overall my old fashioned was super sweet due the maple syrup, so I would probably just stick with your usual order. As for the food, the CHEESE CURDS were truly some of the best that I've had! Ooey, gooey, deliciousness! Perfect crunch and also melted in your mouth. The menu itself is very extensive and there is something for everyone to eat. I appreciated that most of the entrees came with a soup or salad, though I will say that none of the food absolutely wow'ed me. The dessert was interesting. The brownie was classic and the gluten free cheesecake..was gluten free. Very strange in my opinion, but appreciate that they have it as an option. Overall, I would definitely come here for a fish fry, a drink, and I can totally see this place hopping in the summer.
