We had a reservation at Blanco, but since we arrived downtown early, our table wasn't ready yet. We were downtown for a concert at the Mortgage Matchup Center and wanted to stay close by, so we decided to walk around and see if we could find somewhere that could seat our group of six sooner than waiting another half hour for reservation. We walked into Tom's Watch Bar and lucky for us they had a table available and were able to seat us right away! Tom's is a big sports bar with tons of TVs everywhere. We sat in the back just below the large TV. The menu reminded me a lot of Yard House or Thirsty Lion, with a variety of options. One thing I noticed is that they don't have a kids menu. I asked if they had any options for kids, and we were told they could make kids mac & cheese, chicken tenders, or grilled cheese. We actually ran into another group of friends with kids who were also going to the concert, and they were eating there too. They were never told about the kids options and ended up ordering adult-size meals for their kids, which they were disappointed about, can't take left overs into a concert. I'm sure Tom's gets a lot of families dining there before Suns or D-backs games and events, so it might be helpful to have a small paper listing the kids options to hand out with the regular menus. We started with the poke nachos, which were pretty good. They were a little smaller than the portion you get at Yard House, but still tasty. My son ordered the kids mac & cheese with fries, and my daughter got the chicken Caesar salad. Our friends ordered the bacon avocado cheeseburger and a grilled cheese, while I went with the Mediterranean bowl salad. My Mediterranean salad looked absolutely delicious and had so many yummy ingredients, lettuce, quinoa, kale, edamame, tomatoes, artichokes, garbanzo beans, feta, and olives...but unfortunately it was completely saturated with the white balsamic dressing. I definitely should have asked for the dressing on the side because there was SO much on it, it was almost soggy. It was a bummer because I think I would have really enjoyed the salad if it hadn't been so heavily dressed. Hopefully it was just a one off and someone in the kitchen was a little heavy handed that day. My son loved his mac & cheese and ate every bite. I was happy to see they used cavatappi noodles rather than the basic Kraft-style mac & cheese you sometimes get at restaurants. The chicken caesar salad had really good cornbread croutons, but unfortunately, most of the romaine was the yellow bottom part of the stalk. It gave the salad a nice crunch, but my daughter would have preferred a little more green romaine lettuce. The croutons though were an awesome treat and she loved that addition with the chicken. Our food came out quickly, and our server was nice and attentive. The bill was definitely on the pricey side for what we ordered, but I guess that's to be expected for a downtown restaurant so close to the stadium. Overall, Tom's was a convenient find when we needed somewhere to eat before the concert. The quick seating, fast food, huge number of TVs, and sports-bar atmosphere made it a good option with the kids. Came here before a concert at mortgage mashup arena. It's a great location close to both the Suns and Dbacks. With both a concert and a Dbacks game the same night the place was packed and we had a 30 month wait. Went to the bar and got a drink, servers were pretty on top of paying attention to customers who walked up to the bar. Once the place started clearing out, we still were #4 on the waitlist. I went to ask the hostess on wait and we were sat quickly after that. There were 10 open tables at this point. Our server Gabe was nice and took our order quickly. We split the French dip which was very good (would order again) and the crispy club sandwich. That ok, probably would not order again. Came here during the dodgers pre-game on august 8th. This place was packed and so but we found a corner outside under the shade. The server was super nice and quickly took out order. We all ordered the all American and the orders were all messed up, but we didn't really care cause I'm sure the kitchen was very busy. The burgers were good according to my kids as well as the wings we ordered. We left the game on the top of the 8the inning and we returned here and ordered wings and desert. We found a spot inside and watched the rest of the game. This place is a true sports bar, every section of the wall was a TV. VIP $20 reservations totally NOT worth it!!! AVOID!!! Paid influencers have obviously never watched a game here. Were to begin outlining the total disappointment. But first, the only positives: The staff is amazing! From the hosts to the servers and managers, all are extremely pleasant and accommodating! They're just working in a crappy bar. If it wasn't for the location, and the captive audience of sports patrons and tourists walking by, I doubt they would survive anywhere else. Our experience: we were given a 5:00 pm time to show up for our VIP reservations and arrived promptly - to an already long line. We were nicely checked in and informed that they were not ready yet for reservations and pointed to the already overcrowded bar to wait at (the fire inspector would have a field day with that crowd!). We were offered to check back as often as needed to see if the table was ready. We did a few times and were asked to keep waiting. Staff was very pleasant and apologetic. We were finally directed to some short tables in the middle of the restaurant. This seemed like an ideal "VIP" setting to take advantage of the TVs surrounding us. Big mistake. Huge. As other folks were sat around us, we promptly realized that the surrounding high tops would eventually block our expected great view, except for a few side TVs. The restaurant was unusually hot and keeping the front doors open didn't help. You know it's hot inside when you look around and grown men are fanning themselves with the menu! At least we can order a cold drink! Unfortunately, the 40 oz beer arrived in a large warm plastic mug, not a frozen glass mug, sure to boil the beer in no time flat. Hard pass in the future. That explains why they don't make an effort to offer great craft beers, just the run of the mill you can find anywhere. While advertising themselves as the "World Soccer Cup Headquarters" on about 1/3 of the available TVs, with another 1/3 on different sports or video goofs (SMH), the sound NEVER came on as the opening ceremonies started! It was well after kickoff that we finally got sound. But then you had to hunt a TV to watch as the main large 4-screen TV was not evenly mounted! From the little you could see above the people in front of you, players were distorted at the missed connecting point of the four TVs. Major Fail! Nobody in management noticed this earlier?!?!? Now it makes sense why the men's room soon ran out of paper towels, which were not replenished for the duration of the game. I know since I checked at each dehydration break. While the staff is nice, nobody seems to really care. The Prime Rib Sandwiches were decent, but the Au Jus was served a tepid warm and soon turned to a thickened slab of dark butter on a dish. Gross to dip in. The Mediterranean Salad was the only highlight - though skip the overcooked and dry salmon! The game itself was a nail biter!! Final quarter to go and.. what???? The "World Soccer Cup Headquarters" switched the sound to UFC!!! I KID YOU NOT!!!! At least we had our $20 VIP bags, advertised online as "FIFA World Cup VIP Gift Bag," to entertain us. It was a plain black plastic bag. You can't make this up!! Inside we found the Panini Official Sticker Collection FIFA World Cup 2026 sticker album. Which is totally worthless without any, uhmm, stickers!!! At least they served as coasters since the servers do not provide any cocktail napkins for your dripping beverage. Along with the coaster, err, sticker book, were some throwaway vendor swags; a plastic Modelo boot cup we'll never use, space-taking cheapo sunglasses to donate to the homeless next door, and a $10 Tom's voucher - good on your next visit and only one per party. This place blew our minds. It was late. We were starving. They had about three guests inside so we were skeptical. The reviews said 4.7 and it's a solid 5/5! The service was excellent. The ambiance was neat and clean with tv's and noise levels that were perfect enough that allowed us to hear one another. The food was great! Outstanding and I highly recommend Tom's Watch Bar. We were there early on a Sunday and most of the downtown was waking up or closed. Tom's was welcoming and the water hit the table as soon as the wait staff said welcome. Beer was delivered to our table in a New York minute! They checked in and made sure as soon as we wanted to order that they were there. The food came out fast. It was hot and it was good. My friends and I visited here after a Mercury game. Let's start at the fact there were essentially 15 people in the restaurant and they were seating everyone in the bar area. They had 1 bartender, 1 server, 1 hostess and a manager. Clearly they were slow and sent people home for labor costs (understandable), but it took over 20 minutes to get our loaded French friends, which the manager made a point to compensate when he sat the on the table COLD! It took an additional 25 minutes for our wings to come out, which we only received because we reminded the server we ordered and we watched her go and put them in. The wings came out and were good. Let's talk about the final bill, $135!! They charged my friend $60 for a margarita that he had to remind the server to bring out the floater, only for her to say that the $60 drink he ordered did not come with it. Wrapping this up, there are MUCH better places in downtown Phoenix to go and enjoy a cocktail and get a bite. This is my 3rd time visiting and I am just NOT impressed with the service, food or cost of dining. I am providing 3 stars because my previous visits were ok. But that's strike 3!! read more

Fist time at Tom's watch Bar. It's a really cool spot. The have TV's everywhere so any seat is a good seat! Located in the downtown Phoenix area . Parking is so so.. if you find a spot on the street grab it quickly!! The are parking garages all around so it's not an issue, you just have to pay for parking! The service was good, had to ask for water a few times.. but I get it it was busy. Had some tasty chicken fingers ... like 9 out of 10. This might be the worst experience I've ever seen, I have 12 year of restaurant management. They had a completely empty restaurant with a 40 min wait cuz they were understaffed severely. While the manger/GM did nothing to help the staff. Staff was great but the GM/manger (short haired girl) literally did nothing while staff was dying. The planning and execution of the shift was embarrassing. Could be fixed in 10 mins but the people in charge had no care in the world. Honestly embarrassing how this is ran. The supervising staff made no effort to help and everyone on the staff I asked why it's so bad is "she's new" whoever is running this place or "new" is killing you're entire staff. She did nothing to help or solve issues. Absolutely embarrassing. Granted I've worked 15 years in much better bar and noticed the problems instantly. But yet I've also applied previously and never even got a reply. This place is an absolute nightmare the turnover rate is insane and it obvious why. This was unfortunately one of the worst game-watching experiences I've had. Our group came to watch the Women's Final (South Carolina vs. UCLA), and the air conditioning was not working. We were told it had been down for several days. In Phoenix heat, this is not a small inconvenience -- it makes the environment genuinely uncomfortable for customers trying to enjoy a meal and a major sporting event. What was most disappointing was the lack of preparation or response from management. With advance notice of the issue, simple steps like portable cooling units, additional fans, signage explaining the situation, or even small goodwill gestures (discounts, appetizers, or drink accommodations beyond water) would have shown concern for customers. Instead, alcohol continued to be served in a very hot environment with no meaningful acknowledgment of the inconvenience beyond offering water. No apology signage, no proactive communication, and no visible management presence to address concerns. Customer experience matters most when things go wrong. This felt like a missed opportunity to show professionalism and care. The only positive was being there with good friends. Otherwise, this visit would have been a complete disappointment. Time just starts disappearing. I'm looking around like, did the bartender leave the country? Waitress finally comes back and hits us with, "the bar is backed up." Backed up?? For drinks?? This ain't a five-course tasting menu -- it's liquid in a glass. So we say, "you know what, cancel it." Simple. Easy. Let's move on with life. 30 minutes later... still nothing. I had been seeing this place heavily promoted all over Instagram by local "influencers," so we decided to give it a try for a World Cup match and made a reservation. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. Despite having a reservation and arriving very early, they initially tried to seat us in one of the worst spots in the restaurant with almost no view of the TVs. On top of that, most of the screens were discolored, so the only decent one to watch was the large center screen. The bathrooms were another huge disappointment. They were already filthy when we arrived (before the place was even busy) and looked exactly the same when we left. I even mentioned it to an employee in the restroom, and he just looked at me like, "What do you want me to do?" The food was just okay. The wings were massive, which was great, but they arrived disappointingly soggy. The one bright spot was our server- she was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and honestly made up for a lot of the other issues we experienced. The final straw, though, is why I won't be coming back. We had plenty of empty seats at our table, so we invited a friend to join us. Almost immediately, the hostess came over and rudely demanded that we pay an additional fee just for him to sit with us, even though we were already ordering plenty of food and drinks and planned to spend even more. The way it was handled completely rubbed our group the wrong way and left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. There are plenty of places to watch sports that value their customers. I recently went to Tom's Watch Bar for the first time for an event that rented out the bar, and it was a great location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and tasty food and drinks. There was a very large open area in the middle of the bar with upstairs and downstairs areas. The event was about five hours long, and I enjoyed some food and drinks while also watching the large-screen televisions, meeting plenty of other people including special guests, and taking part in a silent auction and raffle. There was also a pre-event gathering that took place for a small number of people in the middle of the open area (though I didn't participate in this but heard it through the sound system outside). Some new friends of mine and I found an open table just before the start of our event near the back corner of the bar though still easily accessible to the other areas of the bar. Several servers stopped by regularly to offer food and drinks and to pick up empty plates and cups. I ordered a signature cocktail called a Strawberry Lemonade, made with New Amsterdam Vodka, strawberry puree, refreshing lemonade, lemon, and sugar rim. I then ordered 8 jumbo wings served with fresh carrots, celery, ranch dressing, and Tom's sweet and smokey honey BBQ sauce for the wings. The wings and the cocktail were both tasty and exactly what I wanted to pass the time during the event. The service was good! The atmosphere was fun. There are 19 locations of Tom's Watch Bar including the Phoenix location in Chase Field, which serves 50+ beers and 50+ specialty cocktails and has 80+ screens. We called days ahead of time to make reservations and were told to do it online. We then attempted to make reservations and the site was unable to complete the reservations, so we called back and requested to make reservations over the phone and they explained that they hold half for reservations and half for walking. The day prior we called back to verify if there were any reservations available and they instructed us to just walk in. When we got there at 2 pm b there were plenty of vacant tables. But they told us that we can have a seat but we needed to leave by 3 pm. This is a great spot to watch a game. They have so many TVs and an open seating layout that lets you watch multiple at once. I went once for a watch party in the middle of a Saturday and it wasn't too busy, but then also tried to visit inadvertently during a World Series game and it was packed with no available seats, so you may want to plan ahead if there's a big event on. I went into the bar and my group was originally told that there were no gluten free options. Because of that, my gluten free friend brought her own food. Turns out there are gluten free options and my friend was not allowed to eat her gluten free option since it was outside food. We decided to get their gluten free option but it was brought out with chips that could be cross contaminated (even after we explicitly told them we have a person with a gluten allergy). The manager does the right thing, comes over, comps the food, but, and here's the big point to this story, he says to me: the food is frozen and the kitchen was just taking a while to unthaw it.
