December 17, 2025 - I was recommended this great Italian place for a veal sandwich and it did not disappoint. They have amazing lunch specials. The combo came with an Italian sandwich, a huge slice of pizza, and choice of drink. I got a veal sandwich with cheese, mushroom, red peppers and onions (toppings were extra but definitely worth adding), and a slice of pepperoni. The veal sandwich was very filling. It was stuffed with veal, and dressed with so much tomato sauce, it was falling out after every bite. All the flavours melted together and you can taste a bit of all the ingredients in every bite. It was a very tasty and easy eat. The wings and pizza were good too, but I mainly came to try the veal sandwich. We had to wait for the pizza slice, but that meant it came out hot and fresh. Overall, they make really good Italian food and their veal sandwich is on par, if not better than California sandwiches. read more

I've had this place on my radar for a while now, and finally had the chance to try it today. Boy, am I glad that I did! This place definitely has all of the deliciousness associated with Italian home comfort food, with an inviting ambiance and excellent service. We had come on a Sunday afternoon at around 12:30 pm. Upon walking-in, we were the only individuals in the restaurant. The lady at the front came and greeted us, then told us to sit anywhere that we would like. We chose a table near the window, and were given menus right away. My mother and I had chosen the veal on a bun sandwich (mine with cheese and sauce, while my mother's only had sauce). My son had chicken fingers and french fries, and my daughter chose the penne pasta with red sauce. The food came quickly, and it was huge! The veal sandwiches had two big pieces each, and the pieces were well-prepared and delicious. My daughter's pasta was a large portion, with a slice of garlic bread on the side. My son's chicken fingers and French fries were abundant as well. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything tasted, and how affordable it was as well. The chicken wings were well seasoned and my favorite but were not served as hot (temperature wise) as I would of liked The muscles were served in a tomato sauce. The mussels themselves were flavorless with no seasoning. The tomato sauce was very bland. The tomatoes tasted fresh however lacked salt?? Pepper? I love this restaurant! The meat lovers pizza was loaded with toppings and lots of cheese. The pepperoni was flavourful, I loved the sliced Italian sausage vs crumbled and strips of bacon. I've been here a handful of times a few years back but I was recently in the area and decided to grab my dinner slash lunch for the next day. I ordered the lasagna because I know I can never finish a lasagna, no matter where it's from. So the other half would be good for my lunch the next day lol. While waiting for my order, there were a lot of people coming in for pick-ups. It seems this is a regular place for a lot of people. There were a couple of patrons dining in as well. The wait for my lasagna was pretty long cuz it was legit made to order. It wasn't some portion sitting out on a hot table, no. This was hella friggin fresh. I had time to kill, so I didn't mind the wait either. I'd say it was defs around the 15-20 min mark. They do give you a piece of garlic bread to go with this but with the amount of sauce that's included....man I wish I had like 3 more pieces of bread. They are so generous with the sauce. Your lasagna is swimming in it. Speaking of the sauce, they use a no frills tomato sauce. No spices, just a plain old Italian sauce. Not to worry though, because that lasagna has all the flavour you need. It's cheesy goodness with meat sauce in between. The noodles are perfectly tender. Hello fellow foodies today I bring you another italian food review . I was going to order some pizza through the skip the dishes app via this restaurant but then changed my mind and decided to order there meatball sandwich and sausage sandwich instead with roasted red peppers on both sandwiches my lunch and dinner. Food 4/5 let's start with the sausage sandwich since I found that one better then the meatball ..The sausage was typical the non spicy type Italian sausage sliced in half with some tomatoes sauce and some roasted red peppers that were very tasty. I enjoyed the sausage sandwich nothing to praise about but it was good . The tomatoes sauce they use does not taste homemade it's very acidic ,other then that it was a great sandwich . The meatball was decent with several good sized meatballs and the same roasted peppers that I optioned for at a .75 cent premium to have them added to sandwich again only issue was the sauce was very acidic not like the home made stuff but what you get out of a can , the bread on both sandwiches was also nice soft with slight crust on outside enjoyable and I would say both were very generous sized sandwiches .overall a good sandwich . Ordered here from skip the dishes last night for me and my husband!! I legit have nothing bad to say about this place. The food was FANTASTIC! Very flavourful and properly packed. My husband got the Panzo, I got the steak sandwich and gnocchi in vodka sauce. OMG to die for!!! Especially the gnocchi!! One bit in and I was in heaven. I'm a huge gnocchi fan but tend not to eat it all the time because 1... not usually done properly and 2... very very filling!!! The sandwich was sooo delicious also. My husband loved the panzo. Only downside is it took forever to get to us but then again Bovaird is having stupid construction that the ones are a disaster!! So I don't blame it for being that late! By far the best place to eat especially from skip the dishes! Will order more times for sure! read more

Giving this 2 stars because I ordered from here via Uber Eats but my food-only rating would've been 1 star. I was sorely disappointed with the quality of the food. I had a craving for Italian sandwiches and this did not satisfy, but rather it was incredibly off-putting. Their grilled chicken sandwich was rubbery, overcooked, and tendon filled (I constantly had to be wary of it as I ate the sandwich because it was chewy and overall disgusting). The mozzarella sticks were not worth it. They were tiny and tasted like they were from the frozen mozzarella sticks at the grocery store. Certainly not worth $5+! Heck, you can buy a whole box of frozen mozzarella sticks from your grocery store with that price. Unfortunately as much as I wanted to like this place, I can tell there was no care shown based on how the food was packed, prepared or cooked for that matter. Had a wonderful dinner at Tonino's on Sunday night Penne alla vodka and risotto were so delicious. Caesar salad was one of the best and creamiest I have had in a long time. The restaurant is casual and full of regulars which was a great sign! 100% will visit again when I am in the area Great service from the staff. Very helpful! Menu was large with lots of variety and everything priced very generously for the large portion you get! I also overheard one of the servers not giving the meals to the "skip the dishes" driver because he did not have the right bag to carry out the items. I recently discovered Tonino's and I am glad I did. I've always been a fan of a good veal sanwhich but they are so pricey, everywhere you go. Tonino's does it right and at an affordable cost. So far I have tried their Veal sanwhich, Chicken sanwhich and Penne a la vodka with chicken. Everything tasted great. This is definitely being added to my roster of places to stop for a quick bite. 1/2 the fault goes to JustEat.ca but if Tonino's is going to have their restaurant on their they should know their terms of service. Placed an order on JustEat.ca everything went fine and even received a call from the Tonino's confirming my order within about 5 minutes. I was impressed. They said it would be about 45-60 minutes. Getting on about 75 minutes and I am thinking of calling but see its starting to snow. No big deal I will give some extra time. instead they call me saying I am not in the delivery area! Why did they wait 75 minutes to tell me this!? Then the person adds to my already rising anger by lying and saying no one from the restaurant called to confirma and that if I want my money back they can not help you have to contact JustEat.ca (Who if you are thinking of using don't! had to say my order number 7 times and the is not an exaggeration) Horrible experience all around. Tried Tonino's for the first time today. I was so excited to find a place in Brampton for veal sandwiches. I was hoping it would be as good as California's. Well they don't even come close. Its not bad bad but you can tell the veal had been sitting for a while or may have even be frozen(refrigerated) then heated (you can tell by the color and the texture). Lots of veal on the bun though. I also ordered a pizza. I was impressed because is was so close to Marconis pizza in Mississauga which I consider the best. The pepperoni is the same and they don't overdo the sauce. That's why I am giving the pizza a thumbs up. So overall I will order a pizza from them but never a veal sandwich. Which is unfortunate because they are my fav. If they can't get the veal right I am not even going near the pasta. lol Three stars is because the pizza was good! read more

We have been ordering from Tonino's since they opened the location on McLaughlin Road and have happy with the quality of the lasagna and veal sandwiches. We ordered one of their pizza's for the first time on February 1st and were very disappointed with the quality. The pizza arrived cold and under cooked and there was very little toppings on it. We called and complained and they provided us with a future credit. Later in the week we ordered 2 lasagna's for pickup and when I called it took them some time to confirm the credit we had on file and to add insult to injury advised us that we owed an additional $3.00 for our order. When I went to pick up the order again they couldn't find the credit and asked us for the $3.00. At no time did anyone apologize for the poor experience we had. Will not be going back. read more

This is a solid 2 star rating. I've been to Tony and Jims also located in Brampton. I'm not sure if these two places were together before then went their own ways but the menus are almost the same. I've been here several times and these are my observations.... I had a pizza slice a couple times and I found it to be good so one day I ordered a full size thin crust. There was just too much cheese on the pizza and it was dense and the crust was off. I love wings and they have the same jumbo size wings at Tony & Jim's but they don't compare and here is why. Their pound of jumbo wings has 7 whereas T&J have 8. About 45 minutes for wings, 45 MINUTES!!!! I once ordered a pound and if not mistaken I watched Family Feud on their tv and a good amount of ctv news. The place wasn't that busy so i don't know what wrong. "Sorry for the wait" is what I was told when I got them. The sauce on the wings? it's good but their suicide? Again T&J beats them. From my experience the people there have been friendly. As negative as some of my review sounds, I haven't written off this place as I would like to try their other dishes before that happens. (just don't order the wings there) read more

After looking for a new pizza place last weekend, we decided to to try Tonino's and are we ever glad we did! We had a party size and it was perfectly cooked. Excellent sauce but not runny, not dripping everywhere with full coverage. Full coverage also goes for the cheese and they don't skrimp on the other toppings either. This weekend we decided to try the veal parmigiana and garlic bread with cheese...to our delight it was even better!!! With out even reading the menu we could tell it was home made sauce and spaghetti noodles just by looking at it and our mouths were in HEAVEN!!!!!! The veal? Words cannot describe how good this stuff is, if you like it, you have GOT to try it. Two large pieces covered in cheese and more of that HEAVENLY sauce...yum! Top this off with garlic bread with cheese and you've got your own piece of paradise. These people know how to cook authentic Italian food. For most people the veal and pasta would be enough for two or more meals as the portion is that large. But when paired with garlic bread with cheese, well...let's just say that the flavours put my stomach up to the challenge and now I'm not so energetic. My wife was the smart one and paced and saved to enjoy more another day. The best part of both meals...no grease...and I do mean NONE!!! I'm not sure how that is done, especially with the pizza, but I am not kidding,the box was dry. Now, I will say that the delivery did take over an hour both times but they did tell us both times upon ordering. More importantly, it is WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! In my opinion, give Tonino's a try. Went today to grab take out lunch. I ordered two rice balls with meat and peas and a slice of lasagna. Service was ok. The lady at the counter told me it would take about 20 minutes (not sure why, it doesn't take this long to slice a piece of lasagna and fry two rice balls). Two people came in after me to "eat in" and received their food way before me, which was disappointing. There was 1 lady at the counter who was also taking care of the tables, and one man in the kitchen cooking. Because of the lack of staff, my food sat in the window while the one lady made 5 cappuccinos before giving me my order. The lasagna was extremely disappointing. There's absolutely NO CHEESE between the layers. It was a shame. The tomato sauce was oily, and had pieces of tomato peel in it. The rice balls were dense, mostly consisting of bread crumbs to bulk them up. The peas in the middle were undercooked and hard. Overall, it was subpar and left nothing to be desired. Their food is always delicious! I love ordering their pasta, the agnolotti in Alfredo sauce is my favourite, I have tried other pastas as well and I've never been disappointed! Another favourite is their panzerotti's, they're great! Their portion sizes are good. The only issues I've ever had is one of my food items not being ready on time but they always try to get it out to you as fast as they can which I appreciate. Whenever I go there's always people dining in and taking out, it's a very busy place. For the portion sizes the prices are good. I believe when it comes to food you get what you pay for.
