    Grilled calamari
    Bojan P.

Great pizza, and pasta. It is a bit on the expensive side ($20) for a personal pizza but definitely worth the cost. I tried both the rose and Blanco pizzas and was very satisfied. From pastas I have tried: Penne ala vodka with shrimp (5 stars) Chicken Alfredo (4.5 stars) - it was tasty, but I think other stuff on the menu is better

    Mare e monti

Delicious! I've never been to a pizza place where I've been able to enjoy myself without wondering if there's a chance of cheese on it. As a lactose intolerant person I am pretty hesitant when it comes to Italian restaurants. The menu is very easy to read and online it includes the dietary restrictions. Waitstaff were so kind and recommended the chili oil to eat with the pizza, no regrets there, it elevated it! I ordered the Mare e Monti, a cheeseless pizza containing rapini, shrimp, and chilies among other toppings. There is complimentary bread with balsamic and olive oil. My friend ordered the margherita pizza. The mix of toppings was so tasty and I definitely want to come back and try more. It got pretty busy after around 8pm so I'd recommend making a reservation on a busy evening.

Perfectly grilled calamari under a bed of olives and tomatoes and arugula! Yummy!

Before picking this place, I did my research on all the pizzerias in Toronto that serve authentic pizza. This place stuck out the most so I made a reservation for my partners birthday. We were running a bit late but even when I called them to advise, they were super nice. When we finally arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. The decor was simple and tasteful, light, and not too busy of pictures and whatnot. The menu is simple and everything sounded delicious. But we were there for pizza. We were served yummy, warm bread with olive oil/balsamic to dip in. We then ordered the grilled calamari and the Pasente pizza. My taste buds were on fire! The grilled calamari was grilled perfectly! Perfectly charred and it didn't taste like rubber; which is what can happen when you over cook calamari! The wine we got was superb and went perfectly with everything we ordered. Then there's the pizza! We ordered the Pasente and whoa what a beautiful combination of flavours in my mouth. The different cheeses and truffle. I can't explain how delicious the pizza was. The dough was light but crispy and the toppings didn't easily slide off. I could've eaten another pie if we hadn't had dessert reservations after. The wait staff checked up on us but not too much so I could enjoy my food. The manager Tony was very friendly and always made sure we were taken care of. The service and the food was impeccable! And the bill was not what I was expecting. That's a good thing! I will def be back sooner than later!

I am so happy that I found this place it popped up on my Instagram and I decided to visit For starters we had the muscles which tasted so delicious at the red wine sauce I can drink it like soup Form I mean I had the margarita pizza and then I added prosciutto on it and my friend ordered the seafood pasta I can't remember the exact name but I had shrimp mussels and clam in it The pizza tasted good but the prosciutto wasn't as salty as I was used to it tasted very Bland so it was as if I was just chewing nothing I wish I had gone for a perhaps pepperoni Our server bill was such a delight to have he was a very funny and outgoing and suggested what we should order and what is popular

We went there last night for dinner .We have just returned from a trip to Italy and I was craving Italian food already The food was better than any meal we had in Northern Italy Pizza dough was spectacular and we ordered a tray of assorted seafood and meats which came with wonderful cheese and pickles. What a great little gem we found in Etobicoke. We actually booked a table for Saturday night Staff was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the food and the ingredients The chef /owner came out to talk to us and as very pleasant A truly great experience. I highly recommend this place

A small and quaint restaurant that you'll probably miss if you're driving by. The decor inside is cozy and rustic, but to be honest it could use a slight touch-up. You're here for the food though, and oh boy do they deliver! We tried three different pizzas made in their wood-burning oven (which was made and shipped from Naples). Their tomato-sauce-based pizza are incredible as they use authentic Marzano tomatoes which provides the best tomato flavour I've ever tasted. In fact, all of the ingredients they use are of very high quality; I never realized how flavourful everything could be, incredible! Only a sprinkle of each topping delivers more flavour than most other pizza places which dump massive quantities of toppings on their pizza to try and increase flavour (but to no avail, quality always beats quantity). I now understand why Italian pizzas are so renowned, they're just on a completely different level from everything else you'll try. They don't sell just pizzas here though but we haven't tried any of the others this first time around. Will definitely come here again for another round of flavour explosion in the future; would highly recommend!!

Mould on the bottle of water

Very disappointed with the our meal at Oro di Napoli We had been to the restaurant a couple times and thought the food was excellent. However the service and level of cleanliness of the place has taken a disappointing turn for the worse. They need to be more organized when dealing a full dining room. We ordered a pizza and pasta dish and my pasta came about 20 minutes before the pizza. So I had to pick at my dinner while my dining companion waited for his pizza. When my friend finally got his pizza it was burned and sweaty in the middle. I'm vegetarian and do not eat eggs for religious reasons and asked to server to confirm that pasta had no eggs, she never did. We ordered sparkling water with lemon we got flat water without the lemon. So I had to ask again for the sparkling water. Also the water bottle that they served us in had mould... that is pretty disgusting (see the photo). There was an elderly couple who has been waiting for there dinner longer than we had to. Get it together guys!!!

    Gnocchi Fritti ($16.00)

Located not too far away from the Mimico GO Station (just west of Lakeshore Road W and Park Lawn Road), this is a casual joint with a very intimate and relaxed vibe - think twinkling lights, brick wall, open space with a decent amount of seating. A nice setting for a date, or a family or group dinner. First, parking. There's street parking in front of the restaurant, and on the residential street adjacent to it (but you can't park on the residential street between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM). Second, the food. Overall, it wasn't anything spectacular, but it was nice and did the job. We ordered the Vesuvio Pizza ($17.00 - crushed tomatoes, crispy breaded prosciutto, salted ricotta) and the Gnocchi Fritti ($16.00 - fried purple potato gnocchi with green apple and crushed chestnuts). It isn't the best Italian food you'll ever have, and there are certainly better joints in Toronto, but the meal was perfectly fine. The pizza was lacking in prosciutto (we could barely find any) so they unfortunately scrimp on the meat, but the textures were interesting and it was delicious and light. The Gnocchi was fine, but didn't have very much body in terms of flavour. Portion size was also smaller than expected - at $16.00, we thought it was pricey for the small handful of gnocchi pieces we were served. With tax and tip, our meal came to around $45.00 (no drinks). It's a nice place to check out at least once, but it terms of value, it seemed pricey for what we received. Overall, not bad - service was great, and food was decently tasty. A solid 3 to 3.5*.

$2 for parm cheese. Is that a joke?
    Gee D.

First time here. Food is great and service was also great. I will return but when you ask for parm cheese you are told it's an extra charge. That's embarrassing. I understand it's expensive but you are the only restaurant in the entire world that charges for parm cheese. Come on! You made $80+ profit on the three bottles of wine we had and you charge $2 for a sprinkle of cheese.

This restaurant has amazing authentic Italian food. Everything we ordered was delicious and I would definitely come back. The service was great and wasn't extremely overpriced. The price was affordable for the quality of food. I definitely recommend trying them out if you like Italian food.

Pizza oro - San Marzano tomatoes, sausage, pepperoni, 'nduja sausage, garlic, basil, oregano, fior di latte and coriander vinaigrette
    Aileen J.

Had the grilled Calamari alla Griglia to start and a couple of pizzas: Casareccia (San Marzano Tomatoes, sausage, rapini, cheese, basil, garlic, chillies) and Pizza oro (San Marzano tomatoes, sausage, pepperoni, 'nduja sausage, garlic, basil, oregano, fior di latte and coriander vinaigrette). The grilled calamari was just ok but the stars of the show are the pizzas!! I always have pop when I eat pizza so I ordered a glass of Coke. Unfortunately it was flat. Would be back to try other pizzas but will inquire first about the pop situation before ordering some more in the future.

Amazing place. Not just the wood oven pizza, but everything is excellent. Definitely one of the best places in the area.

The room is small, and the service was friendly. We shared a Caesar salad to start, which was simple but good. We had the duck confit white pizza and the Iberian red pizza. They were both quite tasty, and I reheated them the next morning on the frying pan for breakfast! They had some decent wines to choose from as well. Overall, we were both impressed with the good simple pizza. I think we've both kind of reached a saturation point with pretentious pizza spots, so this was a nice find in the middle of the financial district.

The food overall was fantastic: Caesar Salad - 4/5 very good, with crispy prosciutto and shaved Parmesan. The dressing had a tangy kick but was on the lighter side. Spaghetti Seafood - 5/5 YUMMY! There were large tiger shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, and salmon in a white wine tomato sauce. So good, loved the variety of seafood. One of better seafood pasta dishes I've had. Mushroom Mafalda - 5/5 HEAVEN! Mafalda pasta with four different mushrooms: cremini, oyster, portobello, and porcini. It's cooked in a truffle cream sauce and is a mushroom lover's dream! Absolutely delicious. The server was friendly but not attentive. She forgot a beer we ordered. Aside from that the food was overall so good I would most definitely come back again.

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

Lots of options for shareable apps; excellent options on pizzas and pastas; and I am always impressed with their mains (as someone that has to limit carbs, options can be limited at some Italian restos). They are also understanding of reasonable diet requests. They have gluten-free options as well. It is more of a "quiet" restaurant in terms of the clientele chatter, at least for the times I was there, so I can hear the music they play ("oldies"!!!!)
