This place has been around a few years, located on the north side lakeshore west of Humber Bay Park. It's an Italian restaurant and pizzeria with wood stove oven. Food (3/5) - had the Margherita as a test and tbh it was very average. It's a Napoli style with San Marzano sauce, Fior Di Latte and Basil. Crust was airy and burnt bottom but the ash was too strong and the sediment mixed in with the flavours. Very light on the sauce and lacking enough tartness. Service (3.75/5) - was friendly but a bit on the slower side overall. Atmosphere (3.5/5) - casual dining layout with about 10-15 tables. Floors and tables were a bit sticky tbh. The mozzarella chunks on the margherita pizza had visible ice crystals. If I didn't know better I'd say there's a chance these guys are just buying frozen piano piano pizzas and tossing them in the pizza oven. Not only was the pizza inedible, it's likely a food safety issue. We also got the lamb pasta dish that was nothing special. The Kale salad was good but nothing we couldn't have made at home. Had to battle uber eats to refund the cost of the pizzas, as they normally don't refund for cold food, but they were able to make an exception after I spoke with a manager. Delicious! I've never been to a pizza place where I've been able to enjoy myself without wondering if there's a chance of cheese on it. As a lactose intolerant person I am pretty hesitant when it comes to Italian restaurants. The menu is very easy to read and online it includes the dietary restrictions. Waitstaff were so kind and recommended the chili oil to eat with the pizza, no regrets there, it elevated it! I ordered the Mare e Monti, a cheeseless pizza containing rapini, shrimp, and chilies among other toppings. There is complimentary bread with balsamic and olive oil. My friend ordered the margherita pizza. The mix of toppings was so tasty and I definitely want to come back and try more. Before picking this place, I did my research on all the pizzerias in Toronto that serve authentic pizza. This place stuck out the most so I made a reservation for my partners birthday. We were running a bit late but even when I called them to advise, they were super nice. When we finally arrived, we were greeted and seated immediately. The decor was simple and tasteful, light, and not too busy of pictures and whatnot. The menu is simple and everything sounded delicious. But we were there for pizza. We were served yummy, warm bread with olive oil/balsamic to dip in. We then ordered the grilled calamari and the Pasente pizza. My taste buds were on fire! The grilled calamari was grilled perfectly! Perfectly charred and it didn't taste like rubber; which is what can happen when you over cook calamari! The wine we got was superb and went perfectly with everything we ordered. Then there's the pizza! We ordered the Pasente and whoa what a beautiful combination of flavours in my mouth. The different cheeses and truffle. I can't explain how delicious the pizza was. The dough was light but crispy and the toppings didn't easily slide off. I could've eaten another pie if we hadn't had dessert reservations after. The wait staff checked up on us but not too much so I could enjoy my food. The manager Tony was very friendly and always made sure we were taken care of. The service and the food was impeccable! Used to be one of our favourite local Italian restaurants. Covid has not been kind to Oro di Napoli. Prices are up, the menu has changed and the quality has slipped. The other night we ordered the Veal Marsala. What we got was an oily mess. My wife ordered a glass of wine. It didn't look like it was 5 oz. I asked the server to check. She "confirmed" it was 5 oz. A small and quaint restaurant that you'll probably miss if you're driving by. The decor inside is cozy and rustic, but to be honest it could use a slight touch-up. You're here for the food though, and oh boy do they deliver! We tried three different pizzas made in their wood-burning oven (which was made and shipped from Naples). Their tomato-sauce-based pizza are incredible as they use authentic Marzano tomatoes which provides the best tomato flavour I've ever tasted. In fact, all of the ingredients they use are of very high quality; I never realized how flavourful everything could be, incredible! Only a sprinkle of each topping delivers more flavour than most other pizza places which dump massive quantities of toppings on their pizza to try and increase flavour (but to no avail, quality always beats quantity). I now understand why Italian pizzas are so renowned, they're just on a completely different level from everything else you'll try. They don't sell just pizzas here though but we haven't tried any of the others this first time around. Very disappointed with the our meal at Oro di Napoli We had been to the restaurant a couple times and thought the food was excellent. However the service and level of cleanliness of the place has taken a disappointing turn for the worse. They need to be more organized when dealing a full dining room. We ordered a pizza and pasta dish and my pasta came about 20 minutes before the pizza. So I had to pick at my dinner while my dining companion waited for his pizza. When my friend finally got his pizza it was burned and sweaty in the middle. I'm vegetarian and do not eat eggs for religious reasons and asked to server to confirm that pasta had no eggs, she never did. We ordered sparkling water with lemon we got flat water without the lemon. So I had to ask again for the sparkling water. Also the water bottle that they served us in had mould... that is pretty disgusting (see the photo). There was an elderly couple who has been waiting for there dinner longer than we had to. There's street parking in front of the restaurant, and on the residential street adjacent to it (but you can't park on the residential street between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM). Second, the food. Overall, it wasn't anything spectacular, but it was nice and did the job. We ordered the Vesuvio Pizza ($17.00 - crushed tomatoes, crispy breaded prosciutto, salted ricotta) and the Gnocchi Fritti ($16.00 - fried purple potato gnocchi with green apple and crushed chestnuts). It isn't the best Italian food you'll ever have, and there are certainly better joints in Toronto, but the meal was perfectly fine. The pizza was lacking in prosciutto (we could barely find any) so they unfortunately scrimp on the meat, but the textures were interesting and it was delicious and light. The Gnocchi was fine, but didn't have very much body in terms of flavour. Portion size was also smaller than expected - at $16.00, we thought it was pricey for the small handful of gnocchi pieces we were served. With tax and tip, our meal came to around $45.00 (no drinks). It's a nice place to check out at least once, but it terms of value, it seemed pricey for what we received. Overall, not bad - service was great, and food was decently tasty. Had the grilled Calamari alla Griglia to start and a couple of pizzas: Casareccia (San Marzano Tomatoes, sausage, rapini, cheese, basil, garlic,chillies) and Pizza oro (San Marzano tomatoes, sausage, pepperoni, 'nduja sausage, garlic, basil, oregano, fior di latte and coriander vinaigrette). I really liked this restaurant and frequently recommended it but was super concerned that they do not enforce their staff to wear face masks inside the restaurant. I did an Uber eats pick up order earlier this week and while the waitress was wearing a mask many other staff were not. The bartender had his mask below his nose and wouldn't fix it, the man who made my pizza at the oven had no mask whatsoever on his face and even opened my box to look at it again when I went to pick it up. Other staff in the kitchen area didn't have masks only some were wearing them. I was frankly concerned. I have not risked eating out at any restaurants yet and stuck to takeout but during this time I won't be returning. Why is ignoring the city bylaw ok? I ordered the Gamberi Grigliati and the portion size of the shrimps was no joke. the freshness and flavor of the shrimps was crazy good, especially with everything else on the plate, Italian bomba, organic sprouts, citrus dressing. the citrus dressing should be bottled and sold separately. having said that, I was the first one done of the other three people I was sitting with, the old lady came over and cleared my plate within 30 seconds of my last bite, pretty impressive. everyone else finished up and this lady did the same thing, 30 seconds! crazy good right? once we were all done, she came around and asked us if we were ready for our second course??? this to me lost a star, I get that maybe she was checking in to see if we filled ourselves up or not, but yeah, we ordered all the food in one shot to avoid any hiccups. 30 minutes passed and pizza's finally hit our table, I'm not one for complaining, but would have been much more streamlined to enter the pizza order with the rest of the order at the beginning. ended up having the red pizza Casareccia, which came with Crushed San Marzano Tomatoes, housemade sausage, rapini, fior di latte, basil, garlic, preserved chillies. an absolutely well balanced and full of flavor pizza, very happy with how that turned out. although I wasn't happy with being checked up on with every course, I would come back and eat here, or at the very least do take out. I also wasn't happy that the whole time spent in the restaurant was 2.5 hours. parking options are not really an option at the dinner hour, on street and side streets are an option, if you can find them and/or parallel park transit options are the 501 queen streetcar. quite possibly the best authentic pizza in the neighborhood. read more

Ever since my venture into authentic italian pizza in Europe, I'm now always searching for true brick oven, wood-fired napolese pizza every city I visit (especially since my own city Los Angeles has horrible tasting, yet shockingly overpriced napolese pizza). My surprise when i stumbled across this place in Toronto (my second home). I ordered the diavola ($15 cad) and it is currently the second best diavola pizza that i've had (behind Pizza del sortidor Hostafranc in Barcelona). I just wish the pizza itself was a bit thicker to prevent some of the ingredients from falling. Other than this, it was AMAZING. We ordered: Ortolana ($14) & Napoletana ($13), both were 12" and I thought waaay more than 1 person could finish. I found all the toppings quite salty on the Napoletana - even bites without anchovies and olives! There was no tartness in the San Marzano tomato sauce. It did have a sprig of fresh herb on it - oregano/marjoram? Ortolana was good and had really tasty roasted sliced eggplant on it. You definitely had to fold this one in half 'cause of the chunky veg toppings! You can taste the freshness of the toppings in both pizzas, but I like the pizza at Whole Foods better due to the crust. When my 10-year-old daughter and I took a sip of our water, there was a strong chemical taste. Worst service ever. Not only do they not have wheelchair access (hello, 1980 is calling... this is TORONTO people) BUT the staff were so rude. I cannot comment on the food quality as we didn't eat here. But they clearly didn't want to bother with us. A group of 13 adults and they literally said no. They refused to accommodate us. Even on the outdoor patio. The whole place was empty. They said "why didn't you make a reservation?" And we answered "we have been calling all day and you don't pick up the phone". Awesome hidden gem place for Pizza and Pasta, their food is delicious, and the place is very cute. Great and friendly service, and the food is very authentic. I visited Italy a month ago, and when I eat here, I feel I am transported back. I love love their Cacio e Pepe pasta and the Diavola pizza, but everything else I tried was also so tasty. Highly recommended for a date night, or family dinner, or just a tasty dinner out. As a side note....I had an issue with a large UberEats order that I placed when we had some family from out of town. I ordered from here, and UberEats took almost one hour and half to deliver, when I live a couple blocks away. By the time they actually delivered, the food was very cold, not just not warm, but actually cold. I called UberEats and they refused to acknolwedge this being an issue (I ordered 6 dishes, all were very cold), or do anything, and kept sending me a generic email to review them. I was finally fed up with UberEats and I called the restaurant to let them know the lack of customer service from UberEats. Tony was very receptive to my feedback and lovely to deal with. He apologized for it, even though it was not their fault, and explained that sometimes order are completed by them but they sit there for a while, and then the drivers pick up too many at once for them to be delivered in a timely manner. I was not expecting much, but he let me know when we come back to eat in the restaurant, he'll offer us something on the house, which was not needed, but greatly appreciated. The ragù alla bolognese was as good as those I had in Italy. In this case they made it with lamb which I thought slightly odd at first until I tasted it and realized it captured the distinct gaminess of those in Bologna (where they likely use grass fed beef). For pizza I had the Oro, an orgy of meat while somehow not overdone. The crust had the perfect balance of snap, chew and char essential to any great vera pizza napoletana. On my previous visit I had the Diavolo which was equally impressive. This was preceded by appetizers, the wife and I shared bison carpaccio and arancini. Had the meal ended at that point I still would have been thoroughly satisfied; having the Diavolo and tiramisu afterward was like desserts 1 and 2. Add to that the patio and this restaurant is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Bravo! read more

Staff were incredibly friendly and gave off a really warm vibe. We went with the following pizzas: Margherita D.O.P. Diavola Pizza Oro Tartufo Bufalina Of all the pizzas, Tartufo and Diavola were hits amongst the crowd. The flavour profile on the Tartufo was bang on and the Diavola was a close second to favourites amongst the crowd. Crust was really good- tasty, good cook and not chewy. Had a good weight to it that didn't really slow you down. Comparable to a Pizza Libretto in terms of overall taste, but would put their crust ahead.
