Tony's fence installed our original fence 14 years ago and did an excellent job. After 14 New England winters, we needed to replace a gate, 2 sections of fence, and a post. Once again, Tony's Fence came through with flying colors. Emilia came out within days of our inquiry and gave us a fair and no-nonsense quote. She was professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. When the ground thawed (3rd week in March), Tony's Fence did the repairs and beautifully integrated them into our existing fence structure. I've been a long time customer of Tony's Fence, and have had positive experiences all three times I've done business with them. The most recent time I communicated with Emilia, who was punctual in getting the estimate done, and communicated with me when it was time for install. She was responsive and professional. Mario led the install all three times I've had them work, and he is pleasant and has done outstanding work. At one point I needed a gate adjusted after the work had been completed, they came back and adjusted it promptly without hassle. I see there are several negative reviews here, and I want to say that I've worked with many home contractors and there is a reason why I keep returning to Tony's. Their prices have been very competitive and have done great work. I highly recommend. read more

TONY'S FENCE In Hyde Park... Lacks Integrity, they're undisciplined, unorganized, very unprofessional and unreliable. My husband and I ordered and put a down payment of $3,200 back in the first week of October 2020. We were told that because of the COVID-19 pandemic and they were waiting on back order supplies that we would have to wait until late January or beginning of February depending on the weather conditions on when they would be able to do our fence. The weather in Boston was not normal winter temperatures for most of the winter. However, the month of March came and we called TONY'S FENCE and they stating that they would be at my house the first week of April to install our privacy fence. They never called us to inform us of their progress regarding their supplies or scheduling. My husband and I kept calling them only to receive emails from the company. We took time off work the day that they said they would come to put in the fence; only to receive an email that they needed to reschedule for the following week because some of the equipment didn't come in. Now April 29th the second scheduled appointment my husband took off yet another two days because we were told that's how long it would take to remove our metal fence and replace it with a privacy vinyl fence. On the second schedule day April 29th they were to show up at my house 8:30am they were a no show, my husband called them at 9am and left a voicemail because no one seems to answer their business phone. Fifty minutes later he received and email from TONYS FENCE stating that they were behind a few days and the installation will be in another few days. In both scenarios the company didn't call us at all and this where the their Lacks Integrity, undisciplined, unorganized, unprofessional and unreliability has affected my confidence in the company. So immediately got on the phone and called FOX25 NEWS. Explaining my situation and unsatisfactory as well as my frustration regarding this matter. I explained that during the pandemic I realize that production is slow and the process will likely take a bit longer. However, we are now going into the month of May and no fence. During the pandemic my husband and I have gotten out roof done, basement finished outside stairs done and we are currently still waiting on a PRIVACY FENCE FROM TONYS, Come on now! First, there is no "Tony" of Tony's Fence Company in Hyde Park. Maybe there was a long, long time ago. Instead, the company is headed by Bohgan Kravchuck. I had Tony's Fence install two fences over the past 15 years. I needed a third section replaced. I got an estimate from Peter (the previous owner and now an estimator for the company), which was satisfactory, I signed a contract in mid-July and sent a $1,000 deposit. Installation was scheduled for the first week of October. I well understand that my order was made mid-season, and I was willing to wait. I called after the first week of October and was told many excuses: there was a shortage of lumber; the wrong kind of lumber came in, they had to measure the holes into which the new fencing would go (the estimater had this information - Tony's Fence had done the previous fence installation). These were all bogus excuses. I called about 15 times over a five week period; I emailed several other times. Only once in five weeks was my telephone call returned. When I finally got a person (Liz), I was told on or about November 5th that installation would take place by the end of the next week (i.e., that is, by November 13th.) That was a pretty rainy day, so I understood that would not happen. Saturday, November 14th came, and went, as did November 16th and 17th. No call; no installers; nothing. I had had it. I asked for the return of my deposit. Liz said that she was just the middle person and that I would have t o pseak with the owner, Bohgan. I asked for a refund. He insisted several times that his crew would be there in two days. I declined; the company had no credibility at that point. He kept insisting. I continued to decline; all I wanted was a refund. Under threat of lawsuit, he finally agreed to issue a refund check which I said (and he agreed) to have at the front desk in the Hyde Park Office the next morning at 7 am. When I arrived, I was told there would be no check; that they would issue a refund to the charge card. At this point, I told them that I did not trust them to do so; that I was not leaving, and would call the police if they did not issue a refund check. After a few minutes, Bohgan Kravchuck finally agreed to cut the check, which I promptly deposited. That was my experience with this company. Old company name; new owner. Buyer Beware. FYI. This is my first - and hopefully, my only time - leaving a "Yelp" review. read more

The worst. Made 3 appointments, and cancelled all 3. Two of them the day-of, and the last one just never showed up. Later told me that he couldn't come because it was raining that day - that's the owner of the company, Piotr. And actually, it was even raining at the appointment time. I called him and he simply said I was happy to choose someone else. Which I will. Apparently there is no one else in the company who can provide an estimate. A contractor scared by the rain? Tony's was kind of a crap shoot for me as I couldn't find any references for them, good or bad. They were just a fence company I happened to drive by all the time and when I needed a fence I figured I'd use them. I like working with local businesses when possible. I later mentioned them to my brother who is a structural engineer, and he had actually heard of them and said they had an excellent reputation. I am glad to be giving them their first Yelp review, and I must say I am very happy with the work they did. The estimator came out to my house right away and helped me figure out what would work best for my backyard. I was on a tight schedule which they easily accommodated. Then they sent out a couple of hard working guys and in a day and a half they completed a job that looks so much better than I was expecting. I cannot really comment on value as I know nothing about fence pricing (unusual for me as I tend to research everything to death), but I felt comfortable paying what they asked. One option I had looked into was the Home Depot DIY approach, and I might have saved a few bucks there but I suspect it would have taken me a long time to do a lesser job. I recommend them without reservation, my experience with them was entirely positive. read more

A railing had separated from a post. The emailed estimate for the job was $340. I responded that the price seemed pretty high and I would have to put the job on hold. I received no response. When I told my neighbor about the estimate, he offered to do the job. He bought the necessary part for $0.99 and made the repair in about 15 minutes. A far cry from $340. In the past, i have been very pleased with the work done by Tony's fence. Several years ago they installed a white vinyl fence between my house and a neighbors that looks just as good today. But my recent experience has been terrible. In the first week of June of this year we put down a deposit of over a thousand dollars to install a similar fence around our remaining yard. Tony's fence acknowledged receipt of our check (we even confirmed this by email) and told us that the installation would occur within 5 to 7 weeks. When four weeks had gone by without a word, we contacted the company again, only to learn that they had failed to note that they had received our check (despite having sent an email confirming its receipt, and, having cashed the check). That information was relayed only grudgingly, after more than a week trying to have someone from the company contact us. This week, now in late July, without any explanation or apology for the error, we have now received an installation estimate of mid September, more than fifteen weeks after Tony's fence cashed our deposit check. There has been no response at all to further requests for an explanation. I would strongly recommend that anyone else avoid this company. read more

So much for trying to keep my business local. Lousy experience. Lond story short: June 30: 'Liz' quoted me a 5-7 week yime frame for a 5 section, std stockade install....fine. 1/2 deposit sent. Fence finally installed Oct 29 after I confront the company twice. Proactive status calls would have been appreciated. Oct. 29: I return from a business trip. Fence is finally installed satisfactorily and looks good. I receive a surly voicemail from 'Liz' that "my little project is all set". Who needs that attitude for $1600?! I not recommend this company at all. They got 2 stars for the quality of the fence and install. No one needs to put up with companies like this. read more

I chose Tony's Fence Company because the fences on the website looked very well done, and then they came in at the very best price by far from the 5 or 6 other companies that gave me estimates. First I had to reschedule the installation 2 times and they were so flexible! Then he and his co worker were so nice, being very patient with me when I held them up with some wiring I need to fix before they could install the fence. Next thing i knew the fence was up faster than I would have imagined and to perfection. It's a rather high-end wood fence that is really beautiful. Avoid!!! Totally incompetent and non-responsive. Wasted approx. 6 weeks dealing with this company not answering emails or voicemails, saying they would do x, y and z when you finally got someone on the phone (after calling and emailing multiple times with no response) and then guess what? They don't do it and you are back at square one. Absolute waste of time. Avoid at all costs (unless you want to make zero progress on your project and waste a ton of time and energy in the process). I am thrilled with the work that Tony's Fence did for us. We had three different fences created for our property. One was especially difficult and included custom finials. The people in the office were nice to work with and the installation team was very professional.
