This store is the best it has all kinds of rc even the Chinese ones it has amazing staff and super helpful my Traxxas slash was broken for 6 years and I took it to over 10 different hobby stores and tony rc was the one that in 2 min saw the problem told me the part I needed which was super cool you can also pay for them to fix it for you but its not that expensive and the prices are a little cheaper over there don't let these bad reviews change your mind its all wrong when they fixed my car which took about 30 min I was super happy and even took it to the track(the track is mud so you will need to buy mud tires to drive it there but still super good and awesome experience would recommend I absolutely love this place) read more

I called on 3/19 about 3 ish to ask if they had a specific RC truck in stock an anther item, they immediately answered the phone, an told me that do have it in stock an close at 6pm , I'm driving from Irvine ca an was about to get there at 6:15 ish .. I called them back when I was 10 min away from there shop a told them if they are able to hang on another 10 min so I can get there a buy 2 trucks a battery pack.. they absolutely waited for me an had the RCs ready for me an even show me in the back where they have a new RC small track !! Not sure why all the poor reviews. I took my son there today to drive the track. Im just getting back into the hobby after a few years off and this was his first time driving his mini-t on a track. We had a blast. Everyone was friendly and everyone we walked the shop while batteries were charging, the asked if we needed any help. I didn't buy anything today but prices seemed reasonable for a LHS. Im already working on switching my SCT set up from a large outdoor track set up to a smaller indoor set up. Good times. This shop looks dwarfed on the outside but once you step through those doors it becomes a giant of a hobby store with five rows of leisure pleasures. Revell,Amt,Lindberg and Academy models are all at your fingertips waiting to be built.Planes,cars,WW2 and Gundam items are on sale waiting to be picked up by some hobby enthusiast out there.Man,this is the place I wish I had when I was growing up.They also carry train accessories,drones and race cars. Im not sure about the pricing but they seem kinda reasonable but this is not my place to say,you would have to be the judge of that.To me this a very cool shop even though it's not my thing but if it was I would be coming here a lot,like a moth to a flame. INSANELY OVERPRICED + POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Only shop here if you are willing to overpay! I started to come here a few weeks ago and will no longer come back. I have already made a few purchases and after some research realized their prices are not competitive at all. I am for supporting local businesses, but not when they charge 50 PERCENT MORE FOR THE SAME ITEM while being a REPEAT CUSTOMER. Earlier today I stopped by and saw a model that costed 50 PERCENT MORE than I paid at Burbank House of Hobbies. I paid 53.00 for a model at Burbank (same price on Amazon), and Tony charges 80.00 for the same item. I found another car I wanted and they would not do anything about the pricing. I would have gladly taken it if they just took a couple of dollars off! Having bought a few models, paints, and tools at Tonys in the past few weeks, I thought they might reduce the price just a little bit and keep me as a customer. I was wrong. Last time I was here, I was in line to pay and the customer in front of me was given a steep discount to match Amazons price. I was not given the time of day after inquiring about a price match. I will no longer come back. I will make all of my future purchases at Burbank House of Hobbies, DXN provisions (excellent customer service), or Amazon. read more

I bought a red cat 1964 Chevy brand new in the box and the bumper was broke inside the box smh these cars are not cheap by the way and this shop is far from my house so when I came back the next day Wayne wasn't there who sold me the car so they wouldn't help me they said they couldn't do nothing about it but sale me a bumper after helping everyone else in the store.So I had to buy a bumper after buying a brand new car with a warranty SMH and When I got home to put on the bumper the screws were broke inside the other bumper and won't come out. They have a nice small track so you can drive your car the moment you buy it. Track is small compared to the outdoor ones but it has many turns and is technical. Let me start by saying this is review for Gunpla builders, as I don't have experience with RC, which seems to be a bigger part of this business. I didn't have any issues with customer service like others reviewers have mentioned. While they do have a good selection of kits and paint, my main concern was the pricing. While I didn't mind paying a little more for the Tamiya spray paints, (~$11, compared to $7 on Amazon) because it helps support a local hobby shop; the kits were extremely overpriced. Most High Grades you can usually find for like ~$20 were priced around $35-50. Like another reviewer posted they were charging $50 for a HG Gundam Aerial kit, that you can easily find for UNDER $20. Would recommend buying online or going to a different retailer like Robots4Less or Burbank House of Hobbies if you're near either one. read more

Terrible customer service. They sold me an esc that is for an 8th scale when I needed a 10th scale esc. Once I got home, opened the package and saw the size I knew something wasn't right. I tried bringing back the unused esc and they denied any wrongdoing and refused to exchange it for the correct size esc. I'm never coming here again. I'll just go somewhere that has knowledgeable staff like pegasus. 0/10 terrible store. read more

Came in with part#s at the ready because of the already slow service. They don't even have a system when customers are next they just help random people they are near. After waiting and being skipped and the "I'll be right after this customer" promise they kicked me out right at closing time did not even get my parts. I recently realized that there was a hobby store near my area and decided to check it out for some Gundam kits. The store inside is pretty huge and has a wide variety of model kits and rc cars in stock. They also had a nice selection of paints such as spazstix and the now discontinued model masters. Prices for the gundam kits were relatively reasonable and I was able to pick up a few older release kits that I had been looking for. Pretty satisfied with my purchases and I will be coming by from time to time to check for more gundam kits. read more

Looking for specific Tamiya aircraft carrier yelped and came here. I'm so happy I came here because got the model I want. The price is reasonable the services was outstanding. I asked an older gentleman (younger guy didn't really help me keep telling me he is looking..not) to help me and he was amazing. I even end up buying an airplane. If I could give zero stars I would. Brought in a motor/ESC combo I purchased here to get looked at because it never worked out of the box. I waited 3 weeks when I was told it would only take 1. Every week I was told to check back the following weekend. I finally decided to just come in and the employee helping me told me it's been ready they just forgot to call me. GREAT. I asked if they can run a test before I check out and pay but they didn't know how and apparently didn't have the equipment to do so. WEIRD. The employee told me I can take it home and test it myself and if it didn't work to bring it back. So I have to pay to take back a defective product they sold me without testing before I leave? They employee asked if I wanted to speak to the owner and figure it out. Tony immediately came out upset and yelling asking why I need them to take the time to test the defective product before I leave. So now I don't care about the work just wondering why I'm getting yelled and cursed at. He then told me to "take my shit and get out." read more

I've been in the market for an RC car for a few weeks now...nothing serious, being an absolute beginner I just needed something to get my toes wet. I avoided this place because of all the negative reviews even though it's mere minutes from my house. But today I decided to put on my big boy pants and summoned the courage to be subjected to atrocious customer service and wandered in. Almost instantly I regretted...not coming in sooner; I found myself being assaulted...by nothing that the other reviewers complained about. Maybe everyone was having a bad day each of those times? I asked a lot of questions, most of which I guarantee we're of the "omg are you stoopid?" variety. And nothing. I got great advice. I was told the two brands I was looking at were similar in performance but one had better customer support and parts availability vs the other. I got a lesson in the differences between NiMH and LiPo batteries and how you absolutely, positively should be aware of how to handle the latter. An hour later I left a few hundred dollars lighter and with a sense of "what is all the fuss about?" Maybe I got lucky and everyone ate their Wheaties today. read more

I'm fairly new to the rc scene and I recently purchased my real rc car a traxxas slash 4x4. This place is well stocked and many selection. When I first went inside the store there was 2 other customers and 3 workers. One customer was being help and the other customer and I were browsing. At any point no workers acknowledged the other customer and I. The lady behind the register just gave us a weird stare like we didn't belong there. After 15 min in the store I finally asked one of the worker if I could see a transmitter. Even at that point it felt like they didn't want to show me the item. They didn't even bother to show me the box. I'm all about supporting local business, but with these type of service no wonder many stores are going out of businesses. read more

All I can say is: "WOW" Tony's still has a huge inventory of RC planes, cars, copters, etc. Every RC plane I was looking for was in stock!!
