I was lucky enough to find out about them from the Gucci Store on Miracle Mike who gave him a glowing referral for working on luxury shoes & bags. Located in Manhasset, they have tons of experience working with high end products.They offer great customer service and a reasonably quick turnaround. The locals love Tony. I hate writing bad reviews but I am so disappointed and upset with my recent dealings with this business. I have used them in the past and had excellent service but this time was totally unacceptable. I brought in three belt straps made out of alligator and lizard that I have had for almost 30 years. I wanted them polished or dyed or refurbished as best as possible. I was not expecting a miracle, just a professional clean up. I had two other straps repaired and they came out great. I brought these three in mid May. I have made 4 trips between then and now and today I was finally given back the straps in just about the same condition as I dropped them off. They were not polished, dyed or refurbished. The owner explained that all that could be done was to condition them. He charged me 75.00 for the three straps and said it should have been more but he took some money off for it taking so long. 3 months???? It took three months to rub a little leather conditioner on my straps???? I could have done that with leather conditioner I have at home. I expressed my concern and was fluffed off and told how to store them when not in use. I have had them for 30 years, I know how to store them. I can't believe that I paid for this but I did not want to leave my straps there or cause a scene. I brought them to another shoemake who assured me that he could clean them up so that I could use them again with my buckle sets. I am quite upset because I always thought that this was "the" place to go when you wanted quality work. He should have given me my straps back (after having them 90 days) and said there was nothing he could do. Horrible customer service. The only good thing that happened is that I got the straps back, I was really expecting him to tell me they were missing. This was my 4th and final trip to try and get them. Bad business. Not telling anyone what to do, but stay away if you value your item. read more

Tony is actually not a little Italian Geppetto kind of shoe repair but an Asian soft mannered sweetheart of a man. He is known by everyone in Manhasset- all the way to the Americana where once my Armani bag was broken and the shop told me to go see Tony on Plandome... He fixed a little pull on the zipper and to this day it's stronger probably than even the original design. Then today I came in with a beautiful Kate spade leather jacket that I have that just popped a button the other day in the middle of an opera which was very unnerving. I had no idea where to take it so I took it to Tony. He was there to save the day. So he took one look at it and said no but then started playing around with little tools and in the span of maybe five minutes had the button all popped back into place. I brought a bag to be repaired and cleaned and they damaged the bag, it was peeling. He must have soaked in some chemical for too long. He should have told me that it couldn't be cleaned and just repair the bag as he explained. So disappointed. I paid for it but really upset, they totally ruined the bag. read more

I brought my uggs that were completely ruined to Tony and he cleaned them they now look like i just bought them. My Gucci flats that I had been wearing for 8+ years and that were basically talking every time I took a step, I brought to Tony and he resoled and cleaned them. They're once again my favorite pair of flats! I also went to Tony a few months ago when I received a new Gucci belt that was slightly too big on me, Tony added holes to the belt for me - for free. They are awesome here not cheap but you get what you pay for and I promise you will be back if you want to keep your things in good condition. I wish it was possible to give a lower rating then one star. I brought my Chanel boots to get cleaned and picked them up to find one of the pins missing. I brought it to the owners attention and he told me that things like this happen all the time and it was missing when I brought them. It was not missing, both were there. A week and a half ago I dropped off a brand new Gucci purse that had somehow gotten tons of blue ink on the tan leather .... I was devastated thinking that it was ruined. When I dropped it off Tony told me that ink doesn't come out and the bag was most likely ruined. I was beside myself almost cried. I asked him to please do whatever he could anything would be better then what it looked like. I walked in today to pick it up not having the highest expectations ..... well that a mistake. This man is a GENIUS.... my bag is literally brand new!!!! He has done amazing things with my shoes but this was whole different level. Brought a high end bag for them to repair the zipper on. Left it with them for 5 days and came to pick it up on a Tuesday, when they said it would be ready by. Came to Tony on a referral from a friend, with whom I was staying while I was in town for a couple of weeks for work. This bag was essential to carry my belongings, laptop, etc., so needless to say I was anxious to have it back ASAP. Being that I was staying about 25 min from the store, I drove into town to pick it up to find out they hadn't even touched it yet, and that I should come back another day. I stated my case and said I would have been happy to come in a different day, but how could I possibly know that unless someone called to tell me it would not be ready for pickup! Huffing around, they said wait 10 min and it will be ready. I was skeptical and unnerved that all this song and dance was needed for a job that they estimate will take 10 minutes!?! But I was already there, they already have the bag, and why not give it the 10 min... It only took two days to show that it was a 10 min job. Zipper was once again broken, stitching from where they did the repair all came undone, and the bag is once again rendered useless. The 10 min "repair" cost me $20, so basically $10 a day for the time that it was useable. Needless to say it was a complete waste of time, money, and patience spent at Tony's, who might be better off sticking to shoes, as bags/zippers and reliability does not seem to be their strong suit. read more

I bought a Gucci belt that was big for me so I went to tony, when I got there and showed him the belt he treated it like it was nothing, he didn't handle it with care. I was very skeptical about leaving it with him but I decided to give him a chance anyway. I then had a very bad feeling so I went back to take it back. Tony's was excellent in repairing my leather jacket! I got a high quality leather jacket when I was studying abroad and unfortunately took a fall and made a huge rip in one of the elbows. I went to other dry cleaners and they said any repair would still show the rip (a piece of leather was missing). After reading reviews I decided to try Tony's. Tony examined my jacket and understood exactly how delicate the leather is, and how it should be fixed. He was very confident, and I felt comfortable leaving it with him (it took about 4 business days). He was also very accommodating with price as I'm a college student. He had to add a piece of leather under it and glue it together in pieces. I am so satisfied with the result as I was so worried I had ruined my jacket for good! Tony Shoe Repair was recommended to me by a Salvatore Ferragamo sales associate - who also brings his shoes to Tony - and I couldn't have trusted my babies, errr shoes, in better hands. I dropped off 3 high-end shoes and their work is clean and precise. I had the leather soles of 3 shoes - 2 flats, 1 high heel - re-done; and had 2 of them - 1 flat, 1 high heel - stretched. The amount I shelled out was more than I expected ($113 to be exact) but given the care they took with my shoes and the quality of their work, their slightly-higher price tag was justified. I am extremely disappointed by the way I was treated by Tony at his store today. I brought a pair of shoes to see if the heel could be shortened. He removed the base of the heel to see how much could be cut and then replaced it but created a scuff mark along the entire back of the heel. I asked if he could clean that off. He adamantly denied he had created the mark. He began to raise his voice, accused me of lying and called me "disgusting" !! There was another customer in the store who raised her eyebrows and could not believe how he was speaking to me!!! When I asked to speak to his boss he said he was the boss. This older Asian man should be kept in the back room and not deal with the public. I've lived in Manhasset for 15 years and have never had an interaction like this one! Needless to say I will NEVER step foot in their store again. I will make sure my friends and family know how I was treated today. I needed a pair of boots (calf) stretched and they did it little by little to not "over stretch" them. I went back to try on a few times, in the end they fit so perfect and I am very happy! I broke the tassel off of my designer leather crossbody bag. I did not want to go back to the label retailer for repairs but was hesitant about going to a random place that might just slap it together. I came across Tony's on Yelp after I saw that other reviews mentioned they fix high end shoes and leather goods so I thought I'd just pop in and inquire. I went in and the guy (I never got his name) took a quick look and took my bag to the back. I assumed he was taking a closer look or asking someone else if it's fixable, but instead he came out just a short time later and had already fixed it! He explained to me how he repaired it and gave me some tips on how to better care for my bag in the future. When I waited for the bill, he told me not to worry about it. I even tried to offer at least a tip and he refused! I know it's probably only because it was such a simple fix for him, but it was very professional and friendly service nonetheless and I never expect anything for free. That being said, my experience overall was great. Friendly and knowledgable service, the shop is clean and organized, and in the end he did great work! The tassel on my bag was even more secure than when I originally bought it! Glad to have found a quality repair shop. I will definitely come here in the future to repair my bags and shoes. read more
