If you are an out of town we & looking to work out, this is the best you are going to get in this area. It gets the job done for weight training. All the equipment is old but you really have no choice. Cardio equipment sucks but then again, I'm spoiled since I go to life Time athletic club the front desk gentleman was super friendly, and really nice, very refreshing since I'm not used to that up north. I only use the pool and am becoming very disappointed in the management for not keeping the pool area in good sanitary conditions. The tile surrounding the inside of the pool is very grimy with oil and dirt. When I mention it they state it will be cleaned next week or oh, it was just done. read more

I have worked out in this facility on approximately atleast 8 occassions. multiple times I have been been confronted by other customers claiming that they were not done using a piece of equipment or apparatus although they were indeed using other equipment or apparatus. According to management their unwritten rule is that if the other customer has not completely put away the equipment they still have a claim it is therefore still under there possession. I have worked out in many gymns within the last 50 years and have never seen this type of operation. normally if someone walks away from a piece of equipment and starts using other equipment the 1st piece is open for usage by anyone. If the previous user wants to come and use the equipment again they go to the back of the line. this is standard operating procedure and it takes the guess work out of things. They are operating as the meat heat roid ragers of the 70's and 80's did. I discussed this with management, they have unwritten rules that they flat refuse to put in writing. It is definitely not a friendly environment. On one occasion the desk attendant berated me about my silver sneaker membership. Supposedly it doesn't cover the cost of full membership. I pointed out that the ownership gets a payment from medicare to cover silver sneaker membership. I also pointed out that I contributed to Social Security and Medicare through 50 years of payroll deductions. Bottom line I will not put up with this kind of bullshit. The place was on the decline and was outdated years ago. Place is disgusting. Filthy ceiling fans throw dirt and dust on you. Wifi is a complete joke. With a tin roof service is a zero. Wifi in lobby only. Not sure why they cant get a few wireless routers. A/C? occasionally. Better odds flipping a coin on any given day. Finally put a split in the upstairs. Next step getting them to turn it on. Weights are good. Large selection of machines but are never properly greased or maintained by the "staff". Really not sure why they have staff. They dont clean or maintain either floor. Cable machines are beyond dusty and weights stacks constantly lag. Especially in the summer. Fortunately one of the members brings a can of WD40 when hes there. If the place doesnt have the capital to provide basic essentials then raise the damn dues. $100 for a year is a complete joke. Charge $200 or $250 if thats what needed to provide a clean and comfortable basic gym experience. If people wont stay for a $100-$150 increase then the facility should be glad they are gone. read more

If you don't understand what a "health spa" is and the difference between a gym and a health spa, this place will give you a much better understanding of what it was like to work out in 1986. The bulk of the equipment is machines, although they're well maintained and in good variety. There is exactly one (1) squat rack, so those looking to pull/squat heavy may be disappointed. However, they have an excellent free weight and bench room upstairs - you may find your press numbers went up simply by osmosis after a few days. Overall, it's not ideal for serious strength or barbell training, but is a great place for the average exercise-er to catch a workout with friendly staff and well-maintained facilities. read more

This spa is a dump. The whirlpool is always broken. The sauna never works correctly. The employees appear trapped in a job they hate and are surly in their interaction with those that make the job possible.The only thing never broken are the dead weights. Treadmills and banded or corded weight machines are often down as well. The lame excuse for the whirlpool and sauna never working correctly is the cold outside temperature. It doesn't matter that the in door whirlpools and saunas up north in blizzard conditions work just fine. I'm so glad we have this gym/spa in Dunnellon! I've been a member for two years. Free orientation and recommended settings for use of all equipment. Zumba, Cardio, Silver Sneakers classes, yoga, and more! Big pool, nice spa and sauna. Lots of lockers, several showers and more! Friendly staff and Angie's the best! This is a full service gym in the tiny town of Dunnellon. The gym staff have always been very helpful and friendly. The gym itself has many amenities, including: indoor lap pool and whirlpool, sauna, elliptical, stair, bicycle, and treadmill machines, wide variety of Nautilus machines, free weight room, tanning booth, massage therapy is offered, and they have two indoor racquetball courts. Check the website for exercise classes offered, which include Zumba and water aerobics. Babysitting services are offered for $1 an hour! Locker rooms with showers are available and always clean. I paid $99 for the YEAR, but regular yearly price has always been around $149, which is extremely reasonable for a gym with all these features. As expected, machines can be somewhat crowded around 4-6pm, but I usually go at 7:00 in the morning, and never have a problem getting on the elliptical I like. I purchases a yearly membership from 2012-2013. The price was $130 for the year which is INCREDIBLE! Great price. That's what drew me to it. Other gyms in the county are $40-$50 a MONTH. Ridiculous. Anyway, this gym is "just ok".. it was ALWAYS so packed that my friend and I rarely got to do anything together. The cardio room (elliptical, treadmills, bikes) was kinda small and everything was thrown together very tight. There are 4 tv's on the side walls only (not in front of you) so it does make a kink in the neck very likely. (TIP: Try to get a machine by the door so you can see it without bending your neck). They have a weights machines room that is nice and roomy. The free weights are upstairs which does make it kinda noisy when people drop them on the floor. It's right above the machines room. They offer tanning. I've never used it so can't comment on the bed, cleanliness, etc. They have a pool, hot tub, and a sauna. We use to go in the sauna a lot UNTIL we noticed a man in there all the time with a trash bag over his whole body (yes it was really a trash bag, we spoke with him in there) and he was seriously DRIPPING sweat everywhere. I know that's what a sauna is for but he was sitting on the TOP bench so it was getting all over that seat AND the seat below. It was disgusting to say the least. We asked the front desk about their cleaning ritual and he said the sauna is NEVER wiped out or cleaned. REALLY?? Soooo........needless to say we did no go back. The pool is big but while we were there we noticed people coming right out of the sauna and DIRECTLY into the pool. I thought people were suppose to shower and get the sweat off first? So, the lack of cleanliness resulted in a loss of 2 customers. read more

This is probably one of the best gyms I have been too. The staff are very friendly their always willing to help you. The day care has an excellent staff. She is always doing something productive with the children from learning to playing a game. She enjoys interacting with the children. I believe her name is Brittany, but I could be wrong. She's a very petite woman with brown hair. If you have children they are always in good hands. She's one amazing team member. This gym just got some new equipment which is amazing. There prices are outstanding, you can get a membership for the whole year under 120.00. I highly recommend this gym, I have never ran into a problem. read more
