My imagination is a little too wild for the open sea and the thought of sharks and wild animals bigger than me freaks me out! When we first started going out on the water, I was nervous. Capt. Doug was awesome though, he gently broke us into deeper and choppier water making sure that both or legs and stomachs could handle the constant movements. It didn't take very long before my husband caught his first fish. Less than a minute actually! He dropped his line in the water, and BAAM!! There was a giant Redfish on the hook. Well after that, we were ready for more. Further and deeper we went until we ended up next to two large shrimping boats. That's when the fun really started. Kingfish, sharks, dolphin, sea turtles. It was like they were putting on a show. I have never had very good experiences at the beach, better yet on the water, but Capt. Doug really knew how to entertain and keep the energy up. I would recommended him to anyone, young or old, man or woman, experienced fishermen or newbies like myself. We had a blast.

I'm typically very nervous on boats, but not only did I feel safe, I actually enjoyed the boat ride. We also saw multiple dolphins! Ray kept the trip rolling with stories and getting to know you personally. We caught near our limit that we decided to stop and have lunch on the boat. We moved but 3 times in our outing and hit every time. Unlike other Captains that move every 10 minutes after nothing. That gets rather annoying and old quick. His language was not near as salty as many other captains, which I appreciated and would make me feel better about taking kids and inviting friends who may not appreciate such language. We could not be more pleased with our trip. The anticipation of gigging a flounder is thrilling and when you spot a fish, that's when the real fun begins. Even when you are not actively gigging watching the night life in the flats is really neat. The trip would not have been what it was if not for Capt. Joe. Besides being courteous, honest, knowledgeable, and professional; he works hard at making sure he puts you on as many fish as possible. We had 12 fish in the first hour. He takes the time to teach you how to gig efficiently and will maneuver his boat to make sure you have a chance at every spotted fish. Speaking of which, he has one of the newest, nicest boats in the fleet. It was able to handle six adults comfortably and is equipped with the best gear needed for seeing the fish.
