They have private rooms if your kids have sensory issues, and they have overhead TV screens playing animated kids movies that they can turn on/off depending on your child's needs/preferences. We are a family who refuses fluoride treatment for health reasons, and she understands and respects our decision, never trying to persuade or demean our decision (as other dentists have over the years). They even have an orthodontist in the same office for if/when your kids need braces later on in life. If your kid experiences a dental trauma, or requires sedation for major anxiety issues, she works with a trusted area anesthesiologist and shuts the office down once per month for dedicated sedation and surgical cases. (Which we have used 5x over the last 10 years, and highly recommend.) The waiting room has a safari theme with jungle animal decals, stuffed plush, etc. There's a smaller "kids tech room" that has video games and mounted iPads too! For adults, a Keurig machine for a much needed caffeine boost. They work with most dental insurance plans, and the front desk staff are very friendly. They even provide a letter of medical necessity if you need it to appeal for anesthesia coverage from your plan. Highly recommend Dr. Neda Kalantar for any type of kid, including those with special needs such as autism, ADHD, anxiety and sensory issues.

I called the day before because I was concerned about some discoloration on my kid's teeth, and they were able to squeeze me in first thing the very next day, which I thought was pretty nice. The waiting area has a nice kid's area with some toys, books, and even a little room that has a few video game systems in there (where were those when I was growing up?!). We were seen around the time of our appointment, and both the dental hygienist and Dr. McIlveen made my kid feel very comfortable being in the dentist's chair for the first time. They went over some brushing and flossing techniques for the little one and sent my kid off with a little goody bag and a bright, pearly white smile after what turned out to just be a much-needed cleaning to get rid of the discoloration that I was originally worried about. I was thinking about taking my kid to my own dentist later this year, but I think I'll just stick with Dr. McIlveen's office!

My little one gets timid at new places. She could not help but to gravitate toward the colorful play area once we walked through the front door. She loved everything, from the soft seats to the books to the selfie station. She didn't want to leave when it was time for her appointment. Notable details like stroller parking, coffee & water bar, breastfeeding pillows, television above the patient chair, and goodie bags filled with dental items, make the visit worthwhile. My little one wasn't happy throughout her teeth cleansing process, but that is to be expected. The dental hygienist was friendly and reviewed all the concerns we had. She also didn't go beyond her scope and reached out to Dr. Dang when an issue couldn't be resolved with the cleansing. The dentists, hygienists and front desk staff were professional. I am giving this place 3 stars because this is not my little one's first teeth cleansing. We switched over to this practice because it's closer to our home, and I want to take advantage of our PPO (previously DMO) insurance. The previous dentist reviewed my little one's teeth issues in great detail and did not try to sell us products, or ask us to return in 3 months, which will not be covered by insurance. That is what happened during our visit here. I did end up purchasing the product, and now having second thoughts. I know everyone has different views on dental care. Also, I know the front desk isn't clinical, but they do make scheduling a little difficult. I will leave it at that.

Dr. Ola was efficient and communicative and compassionate with me, I always really appreciate her expertise and care! This was one of the most frustrating and disrespectful dental experiences I've ever had, and it started before I even arrived. I called the morning of my visit because I was in tooth pain. A dentist personally scheduled me for 3:00 PM since I was coming from work in DC. Shortly after, the front desk called back saying they don't actually have 3:00 PM available and that the dentist "open books" and doesn't see the calendar. She tried to move me to 11:30 AM while I was at work. When I explained I couldn't, I was told I could still come at 3:00 PM but might have to wait. I agreed because I was in pain. "A little" turned into an hour and a half. When I was finally seen, I was then told they might not be able to treat me that day and would instead put in a "plan." They sent in the woman who Handles insurance and I was told nothing could be done because they needed to submit my insurance for approval -- despite the fact that I've been to this office multiple times and have paid my copay without issue. The only time there was ever a payment issue was my very first visit, which was due to incorrect information given by the office and was resolved. I have since returned and paid without any problems. Yet I was told they didn't want the "same problems like last time," which is implying what? This was confusing and upsetting. I was also told 3:00 PM is "late in the day" and that my procedures would not be possible because the doctor has "other patients." If that's the case, why offer and confirm that appointment time? ALL Patients deserve the same care regardless of time. I told this woman I am in pain, and she says "all it says you're getting is a crown and possible RTC." Excuse me? As if you know what pain I am feeling. At that point, it started to feel discriminatory. As a young Black woman, I felt judged and treated as if my pain did not matter, despite being a returning, and paying patient. I left in tears and completely disregarded. Not everyone, but This woman in that office has serious issues with communication, insurance handling, and respect for patients. After multiple visits, negligence, and repeated billing confusion, I will not be returning.
