The massage with May was fantastic. Most Swedish massages are too hard for me, but she has a soft, relaxing technique. I almost fell asleep on the chair, which is the biggest compliment I can give! I've tried a Headspa before (different provider/location) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - so on my last day of a two-week vacation from work I decided to treat myself. Booking the experience (via email) was super easy to do, and the night before my appointment I received a confirmation text. Megan is located within Salt & Sage Spa, which has a small parking lot, but also has plenty of unrestricted street parking on the nearby streets. When I walked into Salt & Sage I was immediately greeted and made to feel very welcome. I was offered coffee and water, asked to fill out a quick paperwork sheet, and then shown to the head spa room. The space is very small, but she makes the most of it. Megan started the appointment by using a camera to show me my scalp. After reviewing my scalp and taking several before shots, she left the room so I could change and get myself set up on the (very comfortable!) bed. I was asked to strip from the top, as a complementary hand/arm/shoulder massage is included. I was given an eye mask to black out all the (dimmed) lights in the room. Additionally, I was offered a complementary foot treatment, which included a cleaning of my feet, some lotion, and what I can only assume are heated slippers (my feet were wrapped, heated, and felt amazing!) The treatment quickly began, and let me tell you --- I was in heaven! I much preferred this treatment, as to the one I had previously received (where in my opinion the provider talked too much about personal stuff, and I didn't really get to relax). In this instance, Megan and I exchanged pleasantries on the way to the treatment room but once we got down to business it was silence and bliss. Megan treated my hair with a multitude of different shampoos/conditioners/etc. I felt like I was in some type of ASMR video because I could hear the bubbles crunching and popping against my scalp. Again, I cannot emphasize how soothing and relaxing this felt. Megan used firm pressure on my scalp, and some combs/brushes/head massager tools. I felt myself drifting in and out of sleep several times throughout the whole experience. She gave me a quick arm/hand massage - which lasted a few minutes, but I would say the majority of the treatment was spent on my scalp. Once we were done, after the privacy of changing, we reviewed the scalp camera again and the difference was extremely noticeable. At the completion of the treatment I was shown to the auxiliary room where there was a blow-dryer and clean combs/brushes for my convenience. Overall I am very, very, happy with the treatment that I received. Megan was extremely pleasant and the atmosphere at Salt & Sage was extremely relaxing. While Japanese Head Spas tend to be a bit on the pricy side (I've never seen one for $100 before, which is also why I was very inclined to try her special offer) I also think that the regular price of $140 is very reasonable for the service which she provides, I would highly recommend seeing her, and I will be booking again in the future.

She was sniffling and sneezing throughout the entire session, and I ended up getting sick afterward. 2. She left the door open during the massage and had conversations with her colleagues while the session was in progress. I had to ask her to close the door. 3. Overall, the massage was not exceptional. Between the constant sniffling, sneezing, and people talking, the environment was not relaxing. For those reasons, I would prefer not to go back.
