His defensive response to my concerns only reinforced my impression that he was more interested in the money and defending himself than resolving the problem for his customer. The difference with the new company I hired has been night and day. They were far more professional and actually fixed the leak for a fraction of what Sam quoted me. They also seemed genuinely interested in solving the problem rather than simply running up the bill. I rarely post reviews, but I felt this experience deserved an honest one. Based on my experience, I would not use Sam's services again. Consumer beware.

However, MTZ did not see the need for it in my specific situation and they removed 2 layers of plaster as well as old tiles with a jackhammer. The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number.
