The doughnuts I tried (doughnut holes and their Red Velvet) were pretty good. Their not too sweet, and the texture is on point; it reminds me of a cake doughnut. As for their sandwiches, the Combination Submarine has roast beef, turkey, and ham with cheese and some vegetables on toasted bread. It's not something I can't make at home, but if you're on the run and need to buy breakfast, this is a solid option. I didn't try the Pastrami Croissant Sandwich, but I was told it's pretty good. The pastrami had a slight saltiness that matched well with the slaw's sweetness and sauce. They're located in a strip mall with parking available. In terms of service it is yet again amazing my mom and I walked in and are instantly greeted and since my mom comes here a lot she talks to the owners of this fine establishment. The area the store is located in is pretty cool and convenient because there is a liquor store next to it so if you want to get other things on your way out or need to wash your laundry at the laundry mat and need something to eat you can come here. I'll admit, I haven't been here in a long time. Why?! Because I discovered Krispy Kreme. Well I decided to stop in today for two donuts, a round glaze and a raspberry filled. I wanted strawberry filled, but they were sold out. The first bite of the glaze, I tasted the sweet sugar coating followed by the "melt in your mouth" fresh donut. This baby was NOT stale. When I took a bite of the raspberry donut I was smacked in the face by the REAL raspberry tasting preserve (not jelly folks!) they used. I've been here so many times and yet today the little old lady whose always there (the owner I assume) seemed annoyed that we even came in the door. She was out of the first 3 items we wanted and when we asked questions she answered them incorrectly not trying to understand what we were asking. The donuts were indeed very good. I wish I knew how to evaluate based on flavor (this place uses peanut oil, this place uses lard...etc). I have no idea. I only know that the flavor and texture of every single donut we tried there was really good. We got an apple fritter, plenty of glazed, donut holes, buttermilk, and french crullers. I would go back in a heartbeat for any of the above mentioned donuts. The price was average for the donuts. The problem came with the service and the following items: "clone-nuts." The service was really slow. Nobody was in line in front of us, aside from one person who was paying and literally leaving as we stepped up to the counter. We stood to the right of the register, directly in front of the donut selection (which is a little on the smaller side). As we were browsing the options, someone came in and walked up to the register. Fine, maybe they wanted to ask a question or something- no problem. Then between the time it took for me to look down at the donuts again, and glance back up, there were a total of 3 people in line at the register. I stepped back and tried to make eye-contact with the lady behind the counter, but there were so many things stacked up on top of the counter (lotto displays, Buddha Shrines, and other stuff) that I guess it's no wonder she might not have seen us standing there. Regardless, I think she noticed me eventually and started taking our order between going back and forth to the register. Finally another guy stepped out from the back area and helped with the register. So, customer service/awareness needs a little improvement. Next- the imitation cronuts, the ever cleverly labled, "Clone-Nuts!"
