Lovely garden cared for by Jamie, the new-ish manager.
    Zoe D.

What a find! I'm so glad we came here and ventured a bit further of the highway, both for the motel and the historic downtown. Jamie, the relatively new manager, has done a great job building up a lovely garden in front of the hotel. There is still the BBQ and pet area others have mentioned. There is a coke machine next to the office with 12 oz cans for.75 cents. There is no ice machine but, if you ask Jamie, she'll gladly go get a bag for you and keep it in her freezer until you need it. Since summers here are notoriously hot, it's good to have a/c which works well. We did hear two trains just before we went to bed (8:30 & 9) & after we got up (5:30) but found it a comforting sound, as we've grown up with them. It's across the street from an iconic-looking silo and the WA State Wheat Growers Assoc. The rooms are very spacious (not obvious from the outside, as it's a typical, drive up to the door, old-fashioned, roadside hotel), have flat screen tv, microwave, and larger-than-average frig. Jamie recommended her parent's restaurant, Memories Diner, just a few blocks away in the historic downtown. She said if we mentioned her, that we'd get a 10% discount. I was prepared to check it out and walk away but it looked really decent so we gave it a try. Again, we were not disappointed. It seems this family is working together to revive many historical, familial, and cultural aspects of the town (another daughter cooks at the golf course!). Her mother greeted us, fed us well (check out the shredded chicken salad and request the mango salsa as your dressing, and the homemade peach teach, you won't be disappointed!), and made us very welcome, all for around $20. Then, be sure to take a walk around the historic downtown. If you're there during the day, there are many cute shops and active historical and agricultural businesses, including the county extension office, a lovely Carnegie Library (which is open late most days and has free wi-fi), a railroad museum, and an association actively promoting the restoration of historical downtowns for other towns to follow. There is also a water park, nearby.

We stayed here after our camping trip with the Wounded Warriors was cancelled last minute due to the smoke. We had plans to visit idaho after our trip and desperately needed to find somewhere to stay a couple of nights that wouldn't break our vacation budget-the Top Hat motel more than fit the bill. I was pleased to have a fridge and microwave, the room smelled fresh, was clean, and the staff was friendly. We checked out the railroad museum and walked around downtown. Ritzville is rich in historical buildings and has gorgeous sculptures placed throughout the town.

It's hard for me to review the hotel beyond the amazing jacuzzi, but there's a full breakfast to be had, comfy bed, nice fan - normally those are really the only 3 things I'm looking for, but JACUZZI! Sorry, it's hard to look past that. But that was really the focus of my stay, so that's what I'm sticking to. And so with all that, why only 4 stars? Because it was really small and cramped. I love being in a jacuzzi, but only when I can sit normally. Half my body was out of water - this guy's too shallow and not the complex tub shape where you can sit on the side, only wedge yourself on the bottom and fold your legs awkwardly. I did my best in there. And it's great to have, and since 99% of people won't be staying here with a jacuzzi (your loss), I want to focus on the hotel itself. A strong 4 stars, but not quite 5. Brian H's 3/4/22 review matches what I think, and he gave it 4, so there you go.

My wife overheard the manager complaining loudly to another employee about it and said she would charge us 10 bucks. While checking out, I asked for an itemized receipt to check if she charged us for it. She did. Upon questioning the manager, she snarkily replied that "I should watch my kids more closely" and "this is our policy." I travel a lot for work and have stayed at a variety of hotels. None of them have ever charged if a plate is broken. Second of all, if you are operating on such a shoestring budget that you can't absorb a CHILD breaking a plate, you have far bigger issues. Third (and last) of all, if you are so jaded working in hospitality that you are berating people, loudly complaining about your guests in front of them, and just generally have a bad attitude, it's probably time to find another line of work (that doesn't involve interacting with people). It sucks because this place was actually pretty nice until the manager had to act the fool. Replace her ASAP and save your business!

Water pressure is important. Night light for bathroom. Why don't hotels have fans... it's so weird. The bathroom doesn't have fan, i don't get it but it's not uncommon. That's $3. a load. Seems steep. When we first checked in, the girl at the front counter lied to me. I asked for a room next to my partner. She told us the floor was full. Not 30 seconds later, she puts the rest of my team on that floor. I was slighted for a moment but I wasn't going to let that ruin the trip. This was a business trip. I checked in 2 January and stayed for the month. I am actually still here but the service has been so good, I'm yelping it now. Every morning, we get free breakfast. I'm talking eggs, cinnamon buns, milk, yogurt, fruit, juice, cereal, oatmeal, sausage, biscuits and gravy ... spared no expense. They really meant it when they said free breakfast. It's served for 3.5 hours every day. The hotel is right next to a lot of eating establishments. There is always a place to go. Domino's will deliver right to your room. Nightly they lay out cookies for everyone and coffee is available 24/7. All in all, I was absolutely taken care of. I miss home and know if I ever travel, I can stay here again. Thanks y'all.

It's not the fanciest or most modern, but everything is clean, comfortable, and the staff is very nice and helpful. I only stayed one night. The TV is finicky (you have the option to choose between WiFi OR regular TV channels, and I had to ask the front desk to help), but the front desk was extremely nice and helpful with both the TV and the treadmill (I couldn't get it on due to a safety feature.) The fitness room has a treadmill, bike, rower, exercise ball, mats, free weights, a bench, and a station where you can do pull-ups and stuff. And the sauna is in the fitness room (I didn't try it). There is even (coin operated) guest laundry here! The bed is quite firm but very comfortable, the pillows are big and fluffy and luxurious, the room has a remote control air conditioner/heater which is a luxury itself, considering I'm used to the ones you have to get up to change. The room also has USB ports at the nightstand, an iron/ironing board, hairdryer, small coffee maker (coffee, cocoa and tea in the lobby, too), mini-fridge, & microwave. The bathroom has shampoo and conditioner on the wall, bar soaps (of course), and even lotion! What really impressed me was the gentleman managing the breakfast. (5:30am-9:30am). I came around 7:30am and within less than 30 minutes, he replaced the coffee, and checked the food temps and quantities several times. All the hot food was piping hot, and the cold food was fridge-cold. And the selection was pretty incredible for the small space they pack it into. And Othello is a very cozy small town - there is a grocery store nearby, a super Walmart nearby, fast food, restaurants, gas stations, a Dollar Tree, and a couple bakeries. If I ever come over here for 2 days in a row again, I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet room with a bunch of amenities... I'd absolutely recommend this Quality Inn.
