Revising my review after two years since the merger the lawn service is poor. I have had weeds crabgrass and overall poor performance in my lawn performance despite copouse amounts of professional water management from a Rachio system. Why I chose not to give them one star is because Mark my landscape shrub and bush guy is excellent and has been excellent over 20 years. So I will most likely keep the landscape service as long as Mark is there. read more

I have been a Top Lawn Customer for over 25 years and have been very happy with their service until thier merger with Experigreen. With two years under my belt since thier merger, I have experienced nothing but disappointment. Last year the lawn started experiencing issues with weed crabgrass and the front yard (which has full sun) started declining. I called, they came out but there was no real improvemet. This year it is getting worse. More crabgrass, weeds, I ever started spray the problem myself and controlled some of it but as you can see from they coming out and me applying control this is still the current situation. My responce from them is let it grow out. This is the last yera of their service as it is time to switch as I expect more for my $1400 per year of service. Additionally, I use a Rachio watering system and spend a small fortune on water. read more

They charge $61.75 and in 2012 they were charging $25. I understand there is inflation, but that's over and above. They don't do that great of a job. We just canceled our service because we can do this ourselves. The woman would not let me cancel when I was trying, and then she was forcing a reason why to give her and I told her I would get a lawyer because my personal reasons why are none of our business even though I gave her one. For that reason, alone, do not go there. I've never had a disclose a reason for canceling a service, especially when I said They were fine. It's not worth complaining about them when they're keeping dandelions off our lawn. read more

I set up an aeration appt for my lawn and requested to be contacted 24 hrs before so that I could mark my sprinkler heads and cable line. I received an email AFTER the appt was completed. They came well before 8am so I got complaints from my neighbors about the noise so early in the morning. Top Lawn also broke a sprinkler head and cut my cable line. When we called their representative was extremely rude and hung up on me. Beware don't use this company!! read more

Technician (Mark) sprayed the perimeter of the home with an insecticide. There was our childs stroller and wagon on the porch. Confronted Mark about this and he said he sprayed around it. Which is not the case due to a picture taken. And its a heavy mist. He finsihed half the house and left. Called "customer service" and they said that the chemical is "not that bad "and for us to spray off the strollerwith water ?? Their excuse was that they called yesterday and said they would be visiting the home. And we should of had the stroller moved. There were 4 people present in the home . And the door bell was working. The way they resolved the problem is saying they would not come back . No real apology from the tech or the customer service just a refund on half a service . And never come back . I had another lawn care company (well known) for previous three years and I was constantly chasing that company to take care of weeds that were growing constantly. And my grass never looked lush or healthy. Top Lawn after the first treatment this season our grass was immediately thicker, greener and the weeds non existent. Top Lawn is amazing. On July 17th, I contacted Top Lawn and sent email correspondence to Amber Swain to cancel my August service due to health issues and COVID-19, I asked her to confirm receipt of the correspondence. Never received a confirmation. In August Top Lawn return for the August service. I spoke to Daphne West who stated that they did nit received the correspondence of the cancellation. I forwarded the email and she still wanted to deny that we had reached out. She stated if we paid the balance in 24 hours she would remove the August service fee. Also she stated if you plan to return we would be required to pay the full year upfront. Every business, banks, credit card companies, mortgage companies, utility business and auto insurance were empathetic the financial strain that COVID-19 had placed on families. I paid the July 2020 payment but will not be held responsible for the August 2020 payment as Top Lawn had received enough notice to cancel the service. There many lawn services in the Metropolitan Detroit area and I will definitely not be returning. I will also be escalating my complaint other reporting agencies. read more

This is my second year with this company and it looks like this year will be just as good as the first. This company provides excellent customer service when I called them with a couple questions I had with my lawn maintenance. Also, when they are done with their treatment, they leave a door hanger explaining what they did and what it does for your lawn. They will also add if they see anything about your lawn that needs attention. I think it's a very nice detail that I haven't seen with other companies. I highly recommend them. read more

I did everything u said And purchased everything from you that yoU told me It's not the first year that it was a waste of my money using u I used to do it myself and my grass was much better, so I will go back to doing that. Not to mention your guys would ruin my grass in so many spots from putting too many chemicals on it so I had lines of dead grass from their riders or whatever they used to spread the fertilizer. I'd been using Tru-Green for years, but every year they kept raising their prices & even though they said they were doing everything, our lawn did not look good. I switched to try for a year, basically because of their reviews & the great starter prices. They've been great - lawn looks better and they're very responsive to all problems or inquiries. They also have senior discounts which is very helpful & sealed the deal for 2020! read more

Cant speak to the lawn care just yet but I signed up and the lady was friendly. I have seen my uncles lawn which loos good and he uses TopLawn. For transparency they are giving me a small credit for entering a review. Since not much to rate on I can't give a great review but already have 2 small complaints. I referred someone and they are supposed to get a credit as well. I got my credit but they didn't. Second, I called and signed up and made a payment. They have my email but I didn't get an invoice. I registered my account online and only see the total payment but I can't see the invoice. In this digital era I would expect to be able to access one or be emailed it immediately. So I knocked 2 stars. If the service and lawn care is great I will update later. I used to have TruGreen and they burned my grass. My uncle told me that happened w him as well when he used to use TruGreen. read more

Most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. They sent me multiple quotes to treat my lawn. After accepting the quotes and agreeing to the cost, the owner of the company writes me an email with the subject "sorry" to tell me they "mis-quoted" and try to double the cost. I said I would accept the cost the next year, but we had already agreed to a cost and treatment schedule. After calling the company, the owner cuts me off, raises his voice and hangs up on me after a heated discussion. Will never recommend or use this company. read more

We were using TruGreen for years and our lawn had weeds and was never a nice green color, we started using Top Lawn in 2017 and our lawn has never been so thick and green. They have been easy to deal with and the lot next to us is under construction with a lot of weeds. Top Lawn has told us to call if weeds come back. I am not sure if it's lack of employees or what it is. When I called the receptionist is nasty and says your area is not scheduled yet. Update: We haven't seen a single weed since these guys starting taking care of our lawn. As always, they notify us in advance before they're coming, and they leave warning signs that the lawn was treated along with a written report explaining exactly what was done. Had someone come out and analyze the yard, he was very helpful, and willing to give me the most for my money. Honesty goes a long way with me, and he was completely honest about what I should do to benefit our yard in the long run. He wasn't just about getting us to sign a contract. We will be having them take care of our yard weather it's this year or next. Finding an honest company is hard to come by, he sat and talked with me for about an hour. Called Top Lawn and they gave a competitive price for my lawn care in 2015. They offered 6 treatments, and I chose 4. They didn't push and agreed to do 4 that year. Kathy was very nice over the phone. I told Kathy that one thing I would not tolerate is that I can't stand when a lawn company just shows up the next year and begins treating the lawn, assuming automatically that I am Ok about it. I had to fire the company prior to that, because I wanted one year of service, but they showed up the next year and then sent me the bill. Kathy said she understood and they wouldn't do that. They did treatments as promised, and always were giving a phone call prior to the visit, and then emailed me the reports. That was very good. But in 2016, just as I was about to call them myself and ask for another year of service, I suddenly received an email, informing that my lawn got treated. Really? I called and was able to speak with Kathy again. I asked her if she remembers that she promised me they wouldn't treat my lawn until we have a new agreement. She said she remembered. But she said that they gave me a phone call that I didn't answer (true) and so they assumed that it would be Ok to show up and treat the lawn. Sorry, but if I knock on your door and do not hear a response, I do not assume that it is Ok to come in. Otherwise I was ready to use them again. read more

On March 28 Top Lawn performed service on my property, I called them on April 1, and gave then my credit card number for payment for the service. My credit card was charged on 4/1, and then again on 4/2 for the same amount. I called the office and talked to Kate, who asked me again for the credit card number to issue a refund. Instead, within the next two days my card was charged five more times for the service amount (seven charges in total). When I called the office on 4/12, Amelia took my information and promised to call me back. She called later in the day and said that Top Lawn has no information and no records of their billings, and I need to take it with my credit card company. I had to spend an hour with the credit card in order to strengthen everything. It looks like credit card numbers are readily available to employees, who can make charges without registering them. Or even worse, they charge for the same service twice hoping that it will not be noticed. read more

I have had their service for one year. My neighbor has had their service for many years, I had a new yard put in it was gorgeous but now I keep getting weeds grasses from the yard next door that has been cared for by this company for years. I had hopes that the company could spray mine too to it would keep the neighbors seed out of mine but nope... did not work. I have been hand weeding, I don't think the chemicals react to this weed grass, my chore is almost impossible and I am getting tired. read more
