Don't Ever Book Online/Pay In Advance - You Won't Get Anything Back…read more My grandmother (who raised me), my daughter, and myself were looking forward to a girl's day and booked all three of our appointments for the same day earlier in July. Unfortunately, my grandmother's health took a drastic turn, meaning the appointments needed rescheduled. My daughter was seen first, then I came in a couple weeks later. No issue there - happy with the cuts. The issue has arisen from my grandmother's appointment (rescheduled for 8/25). Unfortunately, she was unable to get back on her feet and passed on earlier this month (8/6). Due to the online booking policies, it is impossible to cancel/receive a refund on services booked and ultimately prepaid for online without approval on the business's end. It is also worth noting that any prepaid appointment charges are forfeited if the appointment is not cancelled before 24 hours remain until the appointment time. I have been attempting to cancel/refund her appointment since her passing (over a week now). When I initially called the day after she passed, I was assured by the receptionist the appointment was cancelled. I waited for email confirmation as well as verification of a refund from my grandmother's financial institution (the appointments were all booked on her card, but I am on all of her accounts), with both failing to ever arrive. I then physically stopped by the business in the next few days to inquire about the cancel confirmation and refund. I expressed concern about the refund as my grandmother's card that was used to book had since been cancelled in her passing and I needed to know how to handle the refund at that point. I was then told the appointment was never cancelled and to come back Monday (this was a Thursday or Friday) to speak with Kendall regarding the refund. I, once again, took time during my time of intense grieving to stop by this Monday as instructed to visit with Kendall regarding the refund. Imagine my surprise when the doors were locked with no indication as to why. I attempted to call the next day to handle this. No answer. So I sent an inquiry to the business via the 'contact us' form located on their site that day, https://mirrormirrorwy.com/website/index.php?&page=contact After my inquiry went unanswered, on Wednesday (the day before my first day back to work) I called the business again. A receptionist again answered, to which I immediately requested to speak with Kendall. I was then informed Kendall was out with a family emergency and that she would be back next week and to call back then. I expressed my frustration with the fact I had been told the week before to come back next week, only to be told the same again. The receptionist then became extremely terse and upset, stating she was not willing to provide Kendall's personal information and also was not at liberty to issue the refund herself (I'm being much nicer than she was here). I stated that I I was not looking for Kendall's personal information but was becoming frustrated with how difficult this process has been. The receptionist repeated that my only option to receive a refund was to call back next week since she was not the business owner and could not help me, to which I reluctantly stated it was clear I would need to call, again, to have this handled then and ended the call. I know a haircut payment may not be much to most people, but my grandmother left behind a very sweet husband who I'm proud to have as my second grandfather (my biological grandfather who also raised me passed away when I was 12). I have desperately been attempting to secure his financial position following our devastating loss, with every cent making a huge difference. I also cannot justify being robbed of funds for services non-rendered through no fault of my own. Initially, I justified the prepayments as assurance on the stylist's end that we wouldn't no-call no-show and prove to be a waste of a paying reservation. Following this unfortunate series of events, I now see the prepayment policy as a way for this business to use their imposed policies as a means to hold people hostage and extort them into forfeiting their payment. My time of grieving the loss of my last 'parent' has been made much more difficult by the mishandling of a simple refund by this business. I have had to work way too hard to secure something that should, honestly be capable of management online just as the initial booking was. And while it may be easy to just say 'well, just keep calling', please consider just how many calls and visits I've had to make to handle my grandmother's final affairs. I simply do not have the time or emotional bandwidth to babysit this, as it should never have been this difficult in the first place. Don't expect clear communication, compassion, or integrity here. It won't happen.
