Once the boat is sold, no one will care to even a call back. I have called them at least a dozen of times. I am planning to get an attorney and place a major law suit. You're better off buying a boat from a junk yard than these people. During the sales process, they will call you day and night to close the deal and once it's done, they forget who you are. They never followed through with anything that was promised. The problems I experienced: 1. Took more than 30 Days to have them tell me the boat was even listed...which it never was listed, ever. It was all a lie. I had to beg for answers and then finally come pick my boat up because I ended up finding my own buyer 2. When I got my boat home and got it ready to sea trial with the purchaser I had to go buy new anchors and all new safety gear because it was removed from the boat...nobody knows where it went, this went on for 3 months. Then I got a call that they all the sudden found my equipment. 3. I was promised reimbursement for all the fees charged to sell the boat, storage and my cost to replace all the safety equipment ($400). 3 weeks have gone by and nothing. Far from Top Notch in my opinion. Service Manager Ben at the Melbourne location took more than 3 months to get my boat back to me. First saying parts were en route. Then, it will be ready by Friday for like 6 weeks. Once finally ready to pick up, I ask where the handle is on my trailer jack? They said it wasn't on there. I know it was, because, I put it on the day I brought it to them. Then I have to ask where is the plastic container I brought in with all of my new Volvo Penta parts? Found in shop, full of water with new parts in it, no lid and all parts rusted and ruined. One blade on the prop is jacked up from apparently dragging the boat on something. It's a shame. A little pride goes a long way to provide a customer with great service. This was not the case at Top Notch Marine in Melbourne. Sorry guys, there are too many top notch guys working somewhere else. Working with the Melbourne marine has been a Nighmare . We have been treated very poorly and lied to. I feel like we need to warn people to stay away from this place because as of now they won't return the brand new boat we bought that has been defective since day 1. Here are the dates : 5/26/17 we drove all the way there to get it . Had to turn around without a boat 6/9/17 went back to pick it up and payed for it . We brought it home 6/11/17 tried to used it . Boat didn't work 6/12/17 picked up from our house with the promise of getting it fixed and returned 7/21/17 ready . They will not deliver ( before 5/26/17) we worked with them for about 3 weeks in to just get them to get the boat ready for delivery. The service department at this location is awesome! I had taken my boat in for some warranty service to be done. Dan in service was extremely helpful in obtaining the warranty approval from the boat manufacturer and obtaining the replacement parts. Upon installing the replacement parts, they discovered that one of the items had been upgraded and required additional items to install. Dan was able to contact the manufacturer, get the further approval and obtain the parts overnight in order to have my boat back to me for the weekend. This is the type of service level that sets them apart from the competition. Very happy with the repairs and how they communicate with their customers. We are VERY DISSATISFIED customers. Worse customer service ever.... We ordered a new Starcraft SVX191 boat and had to wait 3 months to take delivery, due to the manufacture being closed due to Covid. That we understood and wasn't an issue. However the service or lack of I service I should say has been horrible. When we went to take delivery, they were very unorganized. We were given absolutely nothing on the new boat, motor or Hummingbird depth finder system. We used the boat one time and the depth finder didn't work. So a seven hour round trip back to Top Notch we were to the system was fried and a manufacture defect. So they said that a warranty claim would need to be submitted in order for them to send us a new depth finder. We agreed to install the new depth finder our self rather then take it back to have it installed. Then we would mail the damaged one back to Hummingbird. Now we have now been waiting more then a month. When we call Top Notch we get either no return phone call or poor service when we do speak to anyone. We have a new boat that now after 4 months, still unable to enjoy. The girl from Top Notch now calls us today after waiting a month for the new depth finder, to say that she needs us to give her information and serial number in order for her to file the claim with Hummingbird for the warranty replacement. So she is asking us to give them the information after they gave us nothing at the time of delivery. We still haven't received any paperwork and have no DMV paperwork or numbers for this brand new boat that is a lawn ornament in our yard. Once the sale was complete and they sold us a $38,000.00 it was as if they no longer care about customer service. This has been the very worse customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. I think I'm fairly objective and even after seeing many negative reviews on top notch I still bought a 2018 Monterey 224 from them because they were the only dealer in my immediate area.the boat took a little longer than expected but it was no big deal to me.the problem is not with the purchase process but the service you get once you're out the door and bring boat back for service. I do love my new boat but had to bring it to Top notch for its 20 hr service which consists of changing the oil and lower unit fluids.there were also a few things that needed to be addressed that were under warranty(speedometer stopped working,window seal was off,and main hatch shock broke). These are very simple and minor things in my opinion. Two weeks and 500 dollars later I got boat back and window seal wax still messed up,speedometer was still broke and my hatch shock was "ordered". I am even doubtful that they changed the oil and lower unit fluids now After another two weeks and no call backs I walk in there looking for my shock. Cassie tells me it hasn't been ordered because they can't find the exact part or part number. I left and on my way home it took me 5 minutes to call Monterey boats and get the part number they needed. As long as Top Notch knows their own address it should be there in a week. Now I admit these are pretty insignificant problems but if Top Notch staff are so incompetent that they can't take care of minor issues,then I'm sure you'll get the same result when you need major work done. I will not use top notch for anything ever again and it sucks saying that because unfortunately they are the only dealer in Melbourne where I can use my warranty. Not sure how to start this review but feel I must Warn a few people of this dealership. Part 1 of 2 I meet Top notch marine for the first time at the Fort Lauderdale boat show. Sales person (Tim) was very energetic but not very noligable so he interduced me to the sales manager (Greg). The sales manager was a very smooth talker but I was interested in there 27' class center console boat because the sticker price was hard to walk away from the deal. So be fore I knew what was going on they had my credit card number. ( I was happy up to this point and excited to get my new boat ). He said he had been busy since show and sales person (Tim ) would call me. 2 days later spoke with sales person (Tim) and we finalized details to meet in the fort pierce location of Top Notch Marine. I meet with them (Tim and Greg) about a week later to meet my schedule, during this meeting I picked out details for my boat, set dates and talked financing details. Long story short 3 weeks later I had a boat not the boat I asked for but the demo unit from the show??? Yes I had been promised the world and due to my urge for a new boat I just excepted all the changes and challenges that they put in front of me, these are all the basics sales tactics to get you hook line and sinker her yes they got me but I love my boat even if it's the wrong color not delivered when I wanted to go with all the lies in between. Dec 15,2016 Service department Well when I purchased the boat it was a few things missing not working properly and are not working so I decided to be a good customer and offered to bring the boat back even though I live 2 1/2 hours west of the facility top notch Marine in Fort Pierce. I spoke to the service manager (Ricardo) on a Monday morning and said these are all the issues I have can we please get them resolved this week.is after we took our initial delivery and I talked about the same things over a month prior. I also asked them to complete the deal with installing a B1 64 through all transducer made for a Lawrance GPS and also GPS antenna.this is where the story starts to go south. I went to go pick up the boat five days later only to show up and nothing has been completed I'm sorry absolutely nothing and we completed it as I brought it five days prior. The service manager came outside Ricardo and gave me a big long story about how he had no idea and he was sorry about the problems that we had if I could bring it back again he would make sure it was taken care of. So I had made arrangements to bring the boat back a week later and I did met with Service manager Ricardo when I get there talked about everything yet again for the third time and he assured me everything will be completed by the following Friday. I had came back on Friday to pick up the boat and found that some of the work had been done the transducer through hull and the GPS antenna and a few other odds and ends items but I still had broken gauges that they had promised to replace twice before along with multiple other small items that they had said the warranty from the boat manufacture would not help them with and they have been in contact with them but they never would respond. Now it's the end of January. So I bring my boat home missing most of the items that I am looking forward to getting made another 2 1/2 hour trip both directions and I take the boat over to a local person to install my new GPS to my transDuvet That top notch installed and come to find out it would not work they installed a Garman through hall instead of the Lawrence that was on all the paperwork and have been discussed every time so now I had a 6 inch hole in my boat in the bottom. I called the dealer on that Saturday explain what happened and what they done they intern decided to buy a modification kit which now I had to cut all the wires in my boat that they had just put in their brand-new and put spices on all of them never once did they offer to pay for their mistake they only paid for the $15 part they felt would be OK . Now it's the middle of February and we have scheduled yet and other shit to talk dodge Marine to get the warranty work completed as usual I drive a 2 1/2 hours over to top notch and The service manager Ricardo stated you've been more than accommodating to us will make sure we get everything done before Friday. So I returned a pic of the vote on Friday and they had only replace that hard to gauge they stated that none of the warranty items that come in and that H2O sports the manufacturer who makes the boat the warranty people will never get back to him and also sent him the wrong cushions that don't even match up to my boat. now it's the end of February beginning of March. Not sure where to start, but lets give this a go. I being a business owner myself never post bad reviews about a business because I know it stings. In this case I felt the need to give my experience on service. I brought my boat in to Top Notch Fort Pierce to have them check a faulty bilge pump I noticed because I accidentally left the plug in and had some free standing rain water in the hull. I figured while there I would have them do the 100 hr Yamaha service along with check over everything else. After draining the water from the boat I dropped it off with their service manager and asked to please call me with any other findings. After a week passed I finally got a call from the service manager telling me the rain water in the hull caused enough damage that by time he finished I would "owe him a couple Rolex watches" for payment. He claimed they had to test the fuel for water, had to replace my wash down pump (worked before I dropped it off ), needed many man hours checking and chasing to see what's wrong with bilge (ended up just being unplugged from switch??) along with NEEDING new battery switch (worked when I dropped it of because I had to raise the motor to bring it) needed new battery and battery tray with strap... All these very basic things that did work when I dropped it off but didn't once in their possession. I feel like he took me saying water was in the haul as a free pass to RIP me... So with minimal contact I get a call weeks later saying they did everything and boat is perfect and ready for pick up at the cost of OVER $2500!!!! NO QUOTE NOTHING PRIOR! What do I do now? So I went to go and pick up my boat and was told it was cash or check only and if I used card they add 3% to the over $2500 bill???? WTF is happening here so far. Hers where the story gets crazy... First time out on boat we take some water in the hull and I flip bilge pump switch to pump it out and NOTHING! The pump still did not work!! Come to find out they never plugged it in to the switch either and charged me $159 in labor hours to Find the problem but not fix it. You would think they would have at least put a new wire end, switch or heat shrink it to the switch.. nope left it hanging but still charged me. So out of curiosity I figured I would try the wash down pump they told me was bad and needed replacement (charged almost $200 for pump plus labor of a couple hundred dollars) and guess what??? PUMP TURNS ON BUT NO WATER???? So now I'm really feeling taken.. I brought boat to another dealer and asked them to take a look and they sent me pictures of fuel water separator dated 2018 they never even bothered to check or change in the $2500 service. The transducer was shot and never quoted, changed, or mentioned by Top notch. I mean at this point I truly feel like they took my money and did nothing!! So after taking pictures of all the work they should have done and didn't, or charged me for and didn't do I call and spoke to Daniel again who claims to be service manager. His excuse for all these issues was blamed on a tech that no longer works for them. He told me quote " He was on his way out and probably didn't care, I really wish I could yell at him but he doesn't work here anymore so I'm upset as well".. He then graciously offered not to fix the issues just said he would put a whopping $50 credit on my account in case I ever needed anything else from them. Again I am a business owner myself and have never seen such flat out robbery with such little care for the client. I mean they offered $50 store credit for the inconvenience their old tech caused... Please avoid this terrible business by any means possible. Nothing but lies and charges for things you don't need and they didn't even do! Our experience with Top Notch was a complete disaster, starting off with Steve Mooers. Our request was simple, we wanted a Yamaha lower unit assembly part and wanted it to be delivered down the corner to the freight boat that was waiting for the part to be shipped internationally. Instead of sending us the brand new part we ordered and paid for, they sent us a USED part from another boat without even confirming if the part from the other boat would fit. However, they invoiced us for the brand new Yamaha part and when the part arrived to the international country, you can believe our surprise when we saw that the part was wrapped in a dirty plastic bag and didn't fit our boat! They refused to fix the issue and when we had to personally fly to deliver the part, they even had the disgrace of charging us a 15% restocking fee even though they didn't sell us the part that we ordered. They made us incur the cost of the Yamaha restocking fee, when we never even saw the part! Having worked with many companies world wide, we have never seen such an unethical and illegal behavior from a company that calls themselves "Top Notch." From our extremely unpleasant experience, let me assure you that they are everything but top notch. Steer away from this company at all costs. Not worth the headache working with such low class people with no business ethics whatsoever! We have reached out to them countless times, all the way up to the second person in command, and we received no response. They take no accountability for their actions. My husband and I bought a boat from Top Notch in Ft. Pierce over a year ago - we should have done our homework before we did so. The experience of the sale paled in comparison to the one we'd had months before when we bought an SUV at a reputable dealer in West Palm Beach. The real problems began with the 20 hour engine service. My husband mentioned to the service representative that there was a sucking sound when the gas cap was opened - he thought the cap might need to be replaced. When he went to pick up the boat there were gas stains all over the side of the boat. They said they'd clean it up then deliver the boat to us, which they did. After that delivery, we kept smelling gas and noticed it was in the bilge. My husband made several trips back and forth to the service department in Pompano Beach (he did not trust the Ft. Pierce service department any more) for them to fix the problem. Each time the boat was returned to us, the gas was still in the bilge. We finally had to get Sea Fox involved. The boat had to be returned to them to get a new gas tank which took several months. I do not recommend this dealer at all. read more

Lip Service After The Sale! I purchased a Sea Fox 286 from Top Notch Marine. I've had numerous problems with the boat. I've had to send it back to their facility at my own expense. My latest problem is with my windlass anchor system. I've contacted them over two months ago about the problem. To date, no one has ever contacted me to rectify the problem. They just tell me that they will get back to me but never do. I've even tried to call the salesperson who has just basically doesn't care. He's made his commission. My boat is still under warranty and I guess they are waiting for the warranty to expire. I made arrangement to drop off our brand new travel trailer for warranty work & arranged to pick unit back up 4/12/13 because the dealership is over 100 miles from our home, plus this gave the service department nearly two weeks to work on the repairs. We received a call on 4/3/13 that all repairs were done & we can still pick up on 4/12/13. When we arrived to pick up trailer, we were told everything was done except except 1 thing due to a design flaw & if we wanted to take it up w/ Dutchmen ourselves, we were told to do so w/ their blessing of luck. As we walked into the unit, we noticed right away that the TV had not been mounted as we were told because it was still laying on the bed. We informed the Service Manager who was surprised it wasn't mounted & had someone go out to mount it. We also noticed that the battery was completely drained, & since the trailer came equipped w/ a power tongue lift, we weren't even able to raise the front of the trailer to hitch to the truck. They provided us a quick charge to raise the tongue. We brought our trailer back to the campground for the weekend & found that nothing else was done, & I mean nothing. On 4/16/13, I wrote an email to the Service Manager & CC'd the Finance Manager (who I believe is the owner). I received a reply right away from the Finance Manager asking to give him a few days to investigate. I then received an email from the Service Manager the next morning (4/17/13) that started w/, "Lets address these issues 1 by 1, First of all, it is not the responsibility of Top Notch (TN)..." (I have a copy of this email if needed). Also in the email from the Service Manager when we questioned the dead battery, we were told that we needed to check our trucks wiring harness "as it is apparent our charge line is inop". On 5/7/13, we had our original equipment 7-pin harness on our 2011 Ford F-150 inspected by a Ford Service Center & they found no defects. Since I took offense to this email, I emailed the Finance Manager on 4/18/13 asking that the Service Manager no longer contact us & that we deal w/ the Finance Manager only until this is resolved. On 4/19/13, he again responded w/ the same response asking to give him a few days to investigate. I waited exactly one week & emailed the Finance Manager on 4/26/13 & asked for an update as I hadn't heard from him. I still haven't received a reply from him. On 5/7/13, I called Dutchmen Customer Service to file a formal complaint by calling (574) 537-0600 & spoke w/ Dan. He wasn't able to assist me because TN hadn't registered me as the owner of any unit. The only way I can file a complaint is to call back w/ trailer's VIN number, which I didn't have w/ me. On 6/5/13, I called Dutchmen Customer Service to file a formal complaint by calling (574) 537-0600 & spoke w/ Chad. I provided him w/ the VIN # & he found that the vehicle was still registered with TN. He called TN & spoke with Greg S. who advised him that Andy B. has been terminated & we are not the first customer to have been "burned" by Andy B. Greg S. advised the Dutchmen Customer Service Rep that I should contact him so that he can take care of the issue. Dutchmen provided me w/ the information & took the information to file the formal complaint. On 6/6/13, I called TN & asked to speak w/ Greg S. Greg told me that he was actually w/ another customer & told me to run my story by his new Service Manager Tommy & Tommy would take care of me. Tommy answered the call & I told him, "well apparently, if I mention the name Andy, you will understand" & his response was, "ah, I know where this is going". He was unable to locate my info in their system & asked to forward our invoice, we never received an invoice bc "there was any amt due, so no inv to give". I emailed him this info along w/ a list of items missed the last time, new items now needing to be taken care & a wish list in hopes that TNMRV would make it up to us by taking care of 1 or 2. I hadn't heard anything from him, so on 6/19/2013, I called TN & asked for Tommy. Tommy answered the transferred call, I identified myself & said, "just wondering if you received my email because I have heard from you in nearly two weeks." He said, "Uhm, yes. I did receive it & I am now waiting on parts that I have ordered, & I don't think TN is willing to take on any part of the items you want added on." I asked him to keep me updated. On Monday 6/24/13, I called Top Notch Marine and RV and asked to speak with Greg S. to inform him that we aren't getting anywhere with Tommy either. He was with a customer and unable to come to the phone so I left a message with the receptionist asking him to contact me back. I never received that call back from him. On 7/9/2013, I called Dutchmen Customer Service to file a follow-up on the initial complaint and obtained information on any other dealer that could perform warranty work. We bought our boat from Topnotch Marine and wanted to write a review on the outstanding customer service we receive as boat owners. All too often when someone buys a boat from a dealer, typically you don't quite get the customer service you would as when you are a prospective buyer. Not true in the case of Topnotch Marine, and we are not rich!! The owner Jim has been fantastic in meeting our service needs even after a few years of owning our used pontoon boat. He cares about us even after we bought our boat from him and is willing to correct any problems that might arise. If you are looking to buy a boat, you will not go wrong with this company. This is your warning, so no complaining if you are stupid enough to do business with these crooks! They are your best friend when you buy the boat, but if you take it there for warranty work, good luck having things done correctly. Boat is returned absolutely disgusting, after it was taken there just after having it detailed. Boat was also there during the hurricane, and ended up having my lower unit stolen(while on their propert) they told me I had to deal with it! Like I said you have been warned! read more

****Buyer beware!!! Absolute worst customer service! I purchased a $100,000 Wellcraft from Top Notch marine only to be treated like less then dirt when issues were discovered within 1-2 days of purchase. I addressed all these concerns in several emails and phone conversations and never got any of them resolved. They outfitted my trailer/ sold me the wrong trailer for my boat and never fixed the issue. It cost me over $2500 in repairs over 1 and 1/2 years only to find out that the gross weight of boat exceeded manufacture guidelines of the trailer. read more

Buyer beware! My experience with Top Notch was a total disaster! The Service Manager was deceitful and refused to accept responsibility for the problem I had with my boat. I purchased a new South Bay Pontoon Boat from Top Notch in January 2015. The pontoon began taking on water and when I notified Top Notch they were not helpful. I brought the boat to them for repair and it took 5 weeks to get my boat back. They told me they would send me an itemized bill stating what repairs were made and how long the repairs would be warranted for. I still have not received the bill and it is 2 weeks since I got the boat back. Again Buyer Beware! read more

Bought a boat from this dealer a few months ago. We bought a 29 foot center console (More than 140K boat). They had the boat for a few weeks prior to us picking up to get it prepped and all instrumentation installed. When it was time for us to pick it up, some of the electronics still had not been installed. Had to wait around for a few hours for them to do their job that had been ordered weeks ago. Multiple things wrong with the boat once home .... GPS connected incorrectly, had to contact Garmin to get it connected right. Windlass anchor not set up correctly, didn't even give us the release wrench. Clamp holder loose from hoses to motor, incorrect keys to locks on doors, the list goes on. When spending this amount of money, I would expect a company to have more pride in their business and products. Would never consider buying from them again and will tell anyone we know in the market for a boat to stay clear. Please be warned, go elsewhere.
