I had researched places to go get my hair and makeup done for my wedding. It was mostly places that The Knot had recommended but many of the places were charging over $100 for hair and over $100 for makeup. So I just Googled salons that were near the house we had rented. I had came across the Top Shelf Salon and their prices were very reasonable. Now, I know you get what you pay for but I did my research and all of the reviews were positive. I called and I actually talked to the owner. She told me that they did not charge over $75 for hair. She was super nice and extremely helpful. I called a few days after and booked a hair appointment for all my bridesmaids and myself. I booked a makeup appointment for myself. The day we got there the two girls were friendly and offered us drinks. Bri did an amazing job on my makeup and hair. I had joked with her about doing some Halloween makeup and just some crazy makeup for my wedding. She was super fun. She only did four out of the six of us. My other two girls had their hair done by another lady. We were starting to get in a time crunch and Bri whipped out my last three girls' hair in an hour. All of their hair looked beautiful. Hi all - honest review here! To preface the situation, I had had a previous stylist at a different salon butcher my hair to where I was traumatized to let anyone else touch my hair. I did some researching, called a few salons but I really connected with Alena. I told her the backstory, explained to her what I was looking for and she thoroughly explained to me my options. I felt like she understood me, she worked with me and perfectly executed my hair. I am sooooo happy with the turnout like she brought my hair back from the dead! I loved the conversations we had, she is very authentic and you can really tell she loves her job. Please give her a call - try this salon out, everyone there is great! They will work with you. Like I came in with a mess and left with a transformation - my hair was a million colors with hot roots and she camouflaged all the damage. read more

What a delightful experience here. Andi cut,colored and gave me highlights with a new style and I look and feel like a different woman. She has been doing my hair in the past 3 years but this new salon has a totally different vibe. Andi has a lot of experience with color and the type of cut that suits your face.The salon is clean and well presented. The girls are friendly and their goal is certainly great customer satisfaction. Their prices are reasonable and prices for their products are great. On a side note... the chairs you sit on to get your hair washed are the most comfortable I have ever sat on..no bending your neck back in a sink. Wonderful. read more

I was visiting in Miramar Beach when I had this genius idea to lighten my already highlighted (and damaged) hair. Well, not only did Kim, the owner, personally take care of me, not only did she and Andi (also awesome) squeeze me in the next day and graciously stay after closing, not only did she correct what was the worst screw up ever (layered orange and bleached hair), but she gave me the perfect blend of highlights, which I had been trying to obtain for months! I am no longer in search of a stylist that will listen to my requests. I am going to wait or purposely come into town just to go here. Love these gals. Best salon ever! read more

Great salon for men, women and children alike! I'm always offered a beverage upon arrival and the whole staff is very friendly. Brianna always cuts my hair and does it exactly to my specifications (I'm pretty particular) the place is designed with a cool, cutting edge design yet it's warm and inviting - feels like a coffee shop where you could hang out all day! their prices are right in line with the big chain barbers around town but the difference with Top Shelf is that you get a highly skilled stylist who knows what they're doing, giving you top notch service with a smile. I've been going to Kim for years and now that she FINALLY has her own place my experience has only improved. She still excels at service, makes you feel welcomed and has a great crew with her. Service from the rest of her team was just as solid. Prices are extremely affordable, especially considering the level of salon this is. I have been having Kim cut my hair for 5+ years. She is an excellent stylist and is one of the few hair stylists who can cut my hair and make it look awesome! Kim was amazing! I got a terrible cut at another salon and came in on the verge of tears! Kim immediately pulled up a chair and transformed a complete disaster into an adorable, sassy do. This salon is so relaxing and inviting. The staff is very friendly. I brought my 12 year old daughter to get about 6-8 inches cut off her hair. Her hair is so thick and has always been cut crooked in the past. Bryanna did an amazing job. We will definitely eat coming back. read more
