They sat me down in the pedicure chair with my feet in the water for 10 minutes until someone came over, fine. I don't mind waiting for that. Then the lady who came over massaged my legs for 15 minutes and walked off. I then waited another 15 minutes, but during that wait time I had 2 technicians sit down to start and then get distracted by new or existing clients (existing clients were complaining about their nail jobs). Then it dawned on me that this wasn't going to end well. A lady near me had to tell the technician 3 times to take her existing nail polish off before putting the new colour on! Finally someone started on my nails only to have her hack at my cuticles and rush the nail clipping job. Then she used a blunt nail file and was filing my skin away as well as my nail! At this point i had had enough. I had waited 45 minutes for someone to even start and then they do a crappy job. I told the lady not to worry about finishing and that I was leaving. After many protests from the other coworkers I explained that I wasn't happy about the wait time, customer service or lack of skill! Go here if you have hours to wait for someone to do a crappy rush job. It's also quite entertaining listening to everyone else ask for a fix on their just done nails!

I was planning to go to some place closer to my home, but Rosie's happened to be right where my bus stop was! I decided it was fate and walked back after lunch. The salon is tiny. It has 3 tables for manicures and 3 chairs for pedicures. Both women working that day were super sweet and took their times with their clients. I was lucky enough to get the owner/manager doing my nails. She mentioned she had taken over about a year ago, and that the salon has been there for over 10 years. She was the most friendly nail tech I've ever had, and made nice conversation with me the entire time. And I was there for a while! I got a regular pedicure and a SNS manicure. It is very difficult to find a salon that has SNS. This place has a great selection of colors! And she did a great job with both my toes and my hands. I'm always nervous when a new person starts shaping my nails, because I'm a little picky. But they look perfect for me. It's located inside a slightly shady looking shopping center with maybe a half dozen other shops. But it's located right by bus stops, so it's super easy to get to. They also accept credit cards, which is super convenient. And they also have a reward card, so you can get $$ off a future visit when you keep coming back!

I walked in on a Saturday morning with no appointment but pleased to be immediately seated at a basin for a wash. The seat for the hair washing basin wasn't very comfortable and my core was definitely working hard to keep me from sliding off (all that Pilates finally comes in handy!) but the lady washing my hair have it a thorough clean. I loved that they understood my hair which so many underestimate. They saw my natural wave and knew to only lightly layer it to help manage the poofiness. Great results from the blow wave too. It's super busy (for a reason!) and a bit crowded in here but worth it for the good hair care and bargain prices.

While the person who washed my hair was really nice and did a great job washing my hair, the hairdresser was downright horrible. She adopted a very "I will do my job and lets just sit in near silence" stance and it was a very awkward 30 minutes. I probably would have been content if the haircut was done well but it wasn't. (I think part of my bad experience had to do with the language barrier but regardless it shouldn't matter...)

For only $15.00 this is a steal compared to some treatments at establishments such as Sharon's Eyebrow Emporium in Paddington (to be reviewed soon). Pedicures are also a steal at $30 and they do a fantastic job. There is all the things that make the salon seem uniform to others, the big massage chairs with sinks, the Opi colour ranges, the greeting you receive when you enter as they say 'Choose your Colour' please? However the service is efficient, the value is second to none and their treatments are world class. Give them a try you will be making recommendations in no time.

It was a Friday afternoon and the shop was empty but the woman was rushing and being very harsh with the cuticle clippers, cutting my cuticles so deep on 4 of my fingers that it left them bleeding. Without apologizing or acknowledging what had happened, she then quickly dabbed something on them which stung and left my nails inflamed. She then preceded to quickly file my nails but did such a poor job I was left with some nails with jagged edges. The shellac polish chipped on the edges of most fingers within 2 days. Unless you want swollen stinging, bleeding nails, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
