They were all so kind and sincere to all their customers and they were excited to see the different gems their customers purchased. Like many other thrift stores in Montrose, you can expect marked up (but still fair) prices compared to the larger ones with piles upon piles of clothes to sift through. 96% of all proceeds at this store, however, go toward supporting the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Free condoms are offered near the cashier counter; free HIV testing and a not-for-profit pharmacy sits in the back. The roots of thrifting inherently lie in supporting the community. This is usually accomplished through the affordability of everyday items, but this shop takes it to the next level by showing their dedication to safe sex and access to healthcare. He explained to me that they stay opened late, so this is definitely a spot you can hang out late at night and just browse around. They have plenty of knick-knacks and cool stuff overall. I came here today to drop off my junk. I know they are other people's treasures. It has the cleanest and coolest air conditioning inside. All prices are standard for brand name and off-brand clothes. But the racks are mixed with everything from one entire family. While I was browsing through men's trousers, I found a bra and a size 16 pants. Wow. Not appetizing to me. I literally flipped through the entire rack for a pair of size 36 jeans. No luck. Oh well. I know they have challenges finding employees. It's ok. Just another large Goodwill Store in Houston.
