Right off the bat, Edward, the owner of Top Line, responded right away after we had left a short voice mail. We had a brief discussion over the phone of what we are looking to do and the style and colors of cabinetry that we prefer. We had the same discussion with 2 other potential remodeling companies and when it came down to meetings for measurements and quotes, Edward from Topline was the ONLY one that showed up with samples based on our initial conversation. Now, that says something in my book. We made our decision to go with Top Line for our remodel and Edward gave us a timeline of how long the project will take along with how it's broken down during the process. Love our new kitchen!!!! It feels great every single time I walk in. Don't regret all the mula we dropped on it. Our kitchen was originally built in the 1950's and well...it hadn't been updated except some minor details. Sure it was in pretty decent shape for being a senior citizen, but it desperately needed a big face-lift. Originally we thought we could just reface it, but with the old kitchen standards ours was built on there were so many oddities it ended up being around the same price to just redo the whole thing. We did our due diligence of course with contractors and met up and got quotes from quite a few. It's really hard to find a good contractor that's trustworthy and will stand behind their work. And that's where Top Line came in! Eduard came over to our home to check out what we needed and we gave him our pie in the sky ideas. He's exactly the type of guy we were looking for in a contractor. Someone who knows his stuff, won't say yes to everything and anything you say just for the money, won't upsell you, won't try to sell you something you don't want, and someone who will suggest what he thinks is needed. Most of all, he stands behind the work. He won't guarantee 100% happiness because he doesn't believe that anything can ever be perfect, but he'll do all he can to make sure the customer is happy with the end product. And his favorite phrase is "my friend." Eduard is one likeable guy and we felt comfortable going with Top Line. No matter what a kitchen renovation is a nerve wracking process! We expected there there would be hiccups and crazy things happening. Eduard did his best to keep us up to date on what was happening and future dates to expect. We had a few days where we needed to stay home for an hour or two to go over some decisions but those were mostly in the beginning. He tried his best to tell us in advance but sometimes it was the day before. Any decision that needed to be made Eduard confirmed with us before ordering. We only had one snafu where he mistakenly ordered the wrong tile but he fixed it and we rescheduling our tiling day. In the end we were so glad we had someone we could trust. The contractors for Top Line were all wonderful and respectful. They weren't all around handymen but specialists. We ripped out everything except the floor! New cabinets, new range, hood, dishwasher, backsplash, and paint. Pretty big transformation. The quality of the work I'd say is pretty darn good. There are paint touch-ups we'd like to do but we'll wait til the tile guy comes back out to fix the cracked grout (totally normal as cabinets settle). The cabinets themselves are made out of maple and we chose a simple shaker style. The quality of the cabinets are very good and the soft close hardware is awesome. Price-wise we did add on a few things that came up along the way but overall it was very reasonable for everything we had done and the quality and workmanship. We had several contractors come out to our house to provide estimates to renovate our kitchen and a half bath. The estimates ranged from the ridiculous to the completely absurd. We then found Edward and Top Line Floors on Yelp. He was very helpful, patient, and personable. More importantly, his estimate was very reasonable given the size of our kitchen. Top Line gave the shortest time to finish estimate and presented themselves in the most professional manner, so we went with them. We ended up being so lucky to have chosen them. Summary Review: I did my diligent search for a good contractor to fully remodel every inch of my condo. Chose Edward based on all factors and couldn't be happier with the result. I highly endorse Edward as a general contractor. Long Review: Even though I have experience with construction with investment properties, when it came time to doing a full remodel of a small condo/home for me and my wife, I didn't know who to turn to. Mainly we wanted good finishes, something that is not so important for rentals. I also didn't have right referrals so I turned to yelp. Edward of Top Line was the first contractor we met because his showroom was the only one open for business on Christmas Eve. We hoped it was a sign that he was dedicated to his business. His showroom is in Granada Hills, farthest from our home compared to other showrooms of interest, but that didn't deter me as I figured (and hoped) we wouldn't be up-charged due to having higher overhead. After meeting Edward, we had a great feeling about him - he seemed to know what he was talking about, didn't talk nonsense or tried to lead us in a direction we didn't care for, and was conscientious in listening to what we wanted for the remodel. Although I had a great feeling about Edward, I continued my diligence. After meeting with and getting quotes from 6 more contractors, I was certain that Edward was the right guy. It helped that he also came in with one of the best estimates. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Well, I got lucky because Edward delivered and even exceeded our reasonable expectations. I used Top Line to redo my kitchen. I gutted it and started from the ground up. Edward was there every step of the way to make sure I was happy. We hit a few hiccups along the way (as you do with any home construction project), but I knew that I could always call Edward and he would help me figure it out. The counters (dark grey caesarstone) are my favorite part. But I do also absolutely love my white cabinets. A few of the cabinets got cracks in the paint a couple of days after installation and all I had to do was call Edward and he got it fixed right away. The guys that installed the cabinets spoke absolutely no English (and I don't speak Mandarin) so if I had any questions during the cabinet installation I did have to call Edward, but he always returns calls very quickly. Everything went great with the main contractor until I got to the quartz contractor. Long story short he turned out to be a NIGHTMARE. We returned from a three day trip to find our hardwood kitchen floor buckled and water everywhere. A leak occured at our dishwasher and created a huge problem. I've waited so long to post because everything is always great in the beginning, so I waited to see how the work help up after some time had passed. So far everything is perfect. When we wanted to add some of our own touches, he just deleted it from the quoted price and there was never any hassles. He was quite pleasant throughout. Nor did he disappear once the work started. He would show up to make sure that everything was going fine and if we were satisfied. His workers always cleaned up before they left and not once did they leave a mess. One caveat: the counter guys are not his workers and tended to leave the door open while cutting the counter top, so we had to keep making sure it was closed so that nasty grit didn't blow in the house. First off, for a couple of novices to home improvement, renovations meant finding the right contractor to help create and fulfill our vision. With all the horror stories on tv of botched renovation jobs and untrustworthy contractors, we were quite concerned about the whole process. Since there are no guarantees one way or another, all we could do is try and find someone who displayed the qualities we wanted from our contractor. We wanted to work with someone who brought their expertise into the project and gave advice as to what designs, patterns, colors, materials worked in what space and why. We wanted someone honest and someone who took pride in their work. We felt during the day of the estimate, Edward was that type of contractor so we decided to put our trust in him and we were not disappointed. While the company may say kitchen and flooring, Edward provides all types of renovation services. Our initial estimate was for interior painting of the entire house, full gut and redesign of 3 bathrooms, new kitchen countertop and backsplash, new flooring in one room and refinishing of hardwood floors throughout. A quality we liked about Edward was that the quote was for the entire job and there was no nickel and diming. He let us know what was covered, which was pretty much everything and what wasn't, such as the fixtures, but we didn't mind because it allowed us to add our own personal touches. Later we decided to add exterior painting, interior garage painting, and the reconstructing of kitchen cabinet drawers to the soft-close style. Of course budget and time factored into our decisions regarding the scope of the project. We never felt pressured to add additional services or felt upgrades were being pushed on us. Edward made sure that we were involved and informed throughout each phase of the project, which is what we wanted. He wanted to make sure we were happy with all the work and all our decisions. We felt very comfortable about asking him questions and bringing up issues throughout the entire process. What made us feel even more confident was the knowledge and effort of the team of professionals that he uses. We felt the quality of work was a priority to everyone who worked on the job. We made several requests along the way and Edward was always willing to accommodate any changes and most of the times didn't require any additional funds from the initial estimate. This helped us stay within our budget, which is always hard to do. Overall, we are very pleased with the work, happy with all our choices and extremely thankful we trusted Edward with creating a house into our home. So, through my trusted realtor friend, Stefany Vad of Coldwell, she recommended Topline. Edward designed something much better for only a little bit more and his crew did a beautiful job of installing a new kitchen. He is practical, cost-conscious, resourceful, honest, and kind. His crew installed laminate flooring throughout my entire house, and refinished & stained an existing wood floor in one of my bedrooms. The whole thing looked seamless!!!!
