    South Clinton avenue!

I have visited many Tops stores, as I have Wegmans stores all over the state. The few franchised stores in existence are very well kept and managed as the stores in better neighborhoods. Other stores aren't quite as well kept or should I say managed? One thing that I lean strong on in stores is the customer counters. Where you can pay bills, purchase stamps, make exchanges, etc.. Many of the Tops stores are very slow, even with 2or3 employees behind the desk. This Tops here in my picture is one of the better, well run of their stores to me.

Stopped in the Clinton Avenue store in Rochester today and saw turkeys priced at $0.48 per pound and decided to stock up. Purchased 4. When I reviewed my receipt I found one was rung up at full price. Went to the customer service desk for a refund. The manager that "helped" me argued with me that it was a limit of one per customer. I told her that is not what the sign said. She was very rude and condescending and argued with me. When I told her that if they post a price they must honor it she said they would go by what their circular says. I got my refund, but it was handled absolutely terribly. It is no surprise that Tops stores keep closing. Wegmans has much better customer service. I should add that the cashier that helped me was excellent. She couldn't have been friendlier or more personable. Thank you Kay Kay.

This is a review of the Market Fresh Cafe. If I didn't know any better I would swear that the cooks here were featured on Top Chef or something. Every single dish I've had is absolutely amazing. Their potato salad - YUMMERS! Their rotisserie chickens are well seasoned. They even got me to start eating lemon chicken again. (In most places they taste like you're eating seasoned lysol!) Every grab and go item is perfection. Their olive salad takes you back to the mediterranean. Their homemade hummus dip has me looking for bomb shelters. Their bean salad makes me want to find a checkered blanket and unfurl it in the middle of the parking lot for a picnic. TWO WORDS: BREAKFAST PIZZA They've got the best b-fast pizza in the game right now. Better than Wegmans. Better than Salvatore's. Better then anybody. HANDS DOWN. You want a fruit and veggie tray? Go get you one! You want some bagels? Go get you one. You want some croissants? Get some! It's all good.

This Tops is right next door to my second favorite Chinese Restaurant, Golden Dynasty which makes for a convenient 0ne-two punch whenever I have a hankering for cilantro chicken AND need to pick up a few grocery items (seems I'm ALWAYS picking up a few items these days). Like most Tops these days, this store is looking a little bit run down, especially when compared to the mothership Wegmans in Pittsford. However, this is still one of the better run Tops & they do sport a few amenities that make a stop worthwhile. I've swung by here a few times to pick up lunch from the in-store deli after a friend raved about the Reuben Panini... something that Wegman's STILL hasn't found a way to ape. Plus, my family still loves Tops' pumpkin pies and the store brand complete pancake mix. Clientele can be very varied here... so don't be taken aback if you see a heavily tattooed & pierced gentleman walking around shirtless wearing a leather vest. It's all part of the Tops charm... and this joint oozes charm.

The building facade is actually super nice!

Tops has the dirtiest restrooms I have ever been in at a grocery store. Makes me hope the rest of the store is clean.

But that's changed (or maybe I just misunderstood!), and now anyone can shop here. Prices are a bit higher about $2-$5 more than other grocery stores depending on what you're getting, also know you're supporting a community focused, local business. It's not a huge place, but they've got a solid selection of essentials, and some nice specialty items too. There's even an outdoor area if you want to relax with a snack or a drink. Staff is pleasant, friendly and helpful. They have private parking lot! I'll definitely be back.

It's a bit of a drive for me, but worth it. The staff were so pleasant, kind, and patient. I have a disability, and Richard took his time to explain everything to me. You can just go in and shop, or you can join the co-op. I joined, there are a lot of benefits, including discounts, events, they want to hear from you, and suggestions. It's in the South Wedge. A great neighborhood, and it's decorated outside and has some amazing murals so you can't miss it. I wish I had thought to take pictures. Will do it next time. Bring your own bags. Parking was easy. The aisles are nice and wide. They have small baskets that roll, making it really easy for someone with disabilities to shop. Their meat section is all frozen, which is fine. I bought frozen wild salmon. They have a big sausage section, with some delicious sounding ingredients. I will have to get some next time.

I had visited this market a few times in the past when in the neighborhood but is not my usual go to market because of how far it is from me. This market has a real neighborhood feel. You know the one with fresh baked goods and a deli counter, making you fresh salads and sandwiches. This is one of the few markets that still employs butchers. The store is clean and the employees all are very friendly and welcoming. They have embraced all the covid-19 safety precautions. Everyone wearing a mask, gloves, and social distancing. Signs are prevelent explaining the protocols. Their prices are very compatible and they run weekly specials that can result in great savings. Their produce, seafood, and meat are fresh and of high quality. Now back to my roast. The butcher came out and took the time to discuss with me what I was looking for. He then went into the back and freshly cut me a roast just as I had asked for. The roast was perfect on Christmas. Very flavorable, with nice marbling. Everyone raved about it. This market might be a bit out of the way but it is worth the drive. You can tell, the owners, and employees take great pride in their business.

Another Saturday exploring my hood. The prices were phenomenal l compared to main grocery stores, which I expected being from Washington DC. I really have been missing China Town. This was the closest thing to it since I moved here. I will definitely be back, they were packed, very busy, but also very quiet, which I found relieving since I have sensory issues. No loud checkouts, everyone was courteous even customers. Just people getting their groceries, no entitlement, no BS, no Facial recognition upon checkout like at Wegmans. Just good community neighbors having a polite, no rage grocery shopping. Fruits and veggies very fresh, not treated with oil made to look fresh and glossy, just fresh. I did have to be mindful of salt products, and look hard for organic, but I'm not Asian and reading labels is more time consuming, labels are written in English but tinier, and my eyes are not what they used to be. But everyone was real patient. Very clean, quiet, staff were friendly and helpful. Prepared foods as well. This will be my new go to spot, before hitting the regular grocery store. Will definitely be saving money.
