Deceptive advertising. They show an end cap of Starbucks KCups and a sign stating $7 off on 72 cup box. However the ONE variety that is NOT included is the one that the sign is prominently displayed on. Erica at the customer service desk made it clear it was not included and obviously did not care and would not honor the signage. Years of customer service background I find this pretty deplorable. If it's not included that's one thing. You simply don't display the item with a sale sign. I believe Michael Clement is the store manager but have not found a way to reach him. Next stop local news stations to drop an idea of doing a story on deceptive advertising and bait and switch. read more

I slipped in a patch of ice at the pump at the Bellwood store in Greece, NY. I went inside the store to report it. The manager took down my Member ID and asked me which pump. I gave him the info and how I got hurt. Before he walked away, I asked him for a copy of the report. He said that it was BJs property and I was not allowed to have it. I explained that it was my medical report because I got hurt. Very coldly he said, "We don't do that stuff in store." After more questioning, I got corporate's number. The phone representative took the info of the incident and my complaints of the manager and said someone from corporate would call me. I usually like this store, but the in-store customer service was ridiculous. Update: Corporate office called and reviewed the info. it turns out the store manager had sent in an incident report; I thought he hadn't because of the way he was talking to me. Corporate gave me an email to contact him after I saw the doctor. read more

Growing up I used to frequent this BJ's Wholesale Club location. I have been here SEVERAL times shopping with my family. We always loved a good deal. This location has lots of TVs, electronics, and other odds and ends for purchase. Things always seem to be in stock too. This location's warehouse is quite large and usually clean. Parking at this location is never a struggle because of the large parking lot it is located in. And it is conveniently placed across the street from Marketplace Mall. Other stores in the area are a bit lacking though - not really a spot that I WANT to visit. It just sad. This location does also have its own gas station - woo! My last visit here had something lacking. I was just not really impressed at all. In the past year, I have become a Costco member. I much prefer Costco over BJ's. Costco seems to have trending products, better clothing selection, more organized store, more friendly employees. read more

BJ's store, offerings and customer service has declined significantly since the opening of Costco in Rochester. When comparing the two - they are not even close - as Costco is way better. In rating BJ's on its own I would say it always has and still deserves a 3 star rating as it is just your average wholesale store. To improve BJ's status they need to increase the amount of vendors they offer in addition to their samples. The customer service was just not there - they need people going around asking if they can help the customer. The prices are over all a good deal and especially when they have deals on their laptops. read more

Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. Had an appointment to get tires on my car and after struggling to book due to the website technical difficulties, the appointment booked for the Webster location. Even though the receipt for the order showed up at Webster, I came in for the appointment and was told the tires and appointment were set in the Henrietta location. I drove another 15 minutes to have them put on since the appointment was already made there and after waiting another 20 minutes they came out and told me I had to make a new appointment for Saturday. I then spent 20 minutes waiting for someone to pick up the phone at the Webster location with no answer. Now I've gotta put more air in my leaky tire and drive on it until I can refund and buy my tires somewhere else. The guys in the Webster shop were friendly though, more of a greedy BJ's system than an employee issue. I've been a member of BJ's for quite some time now, and I wonder how they're doing these days. We used to make regular trips there, but as of late mainly the only reason I stop by here is to get gas. Prices aren't as sharp as they used to be... and, having shopped at Costco in Ohio, I think we're getting the short end of the stick here as far as warehouse clubs go. Nice selection of large screen TVs, though... So my review of BJ's is a big "meh". I tried to buy tires here in November but was told that the tires I wanted would have to be ordered. Went to Sears instead, where they were cheaper AND in stock. I wish Costco would hurry up & move into our area... sorry BJ's! read more

Went to BJ's in Webster on Tuesday night, the worst experience ever not only was this self check out cashier was rude, but also the cashier behind the service desk. I was purchasing a little dress, for my granddaughter did not it did not have a price on it. The cashier came over and asked me look me in my face with a Screwface and said, can I help you I said there's no price on here well take it over she saidI was purchasing a little dress, for my granddaughter it did not have a tag on it. The cashier came over to me look me in my face. She had a Screwface said to me can I help you. I said this dress does not have a tag on it she said, take it over to the service desk and get a price, she snatched the dress out of my hand, took it to the service desk service desk person took the dress through it behind her on the counter. The second cashier came back to me and said to me, go to the service desk when you when she's done and get the price of the dress. I didn't have time to wait and walked away. customer service is gone. I have decided that I am going to cancel my BJ's membership and I would never shop at BJ's again. read more

I shop here every week and I love the selection. I buy some staple items here, like my sparkling water, hummus, and their great cold cuts. They also have great prices on clothing. do not order a delivery from them!!!! ghetto enterprise for real!!! they have door dash delivering groceries for them!! drivers cant find you & are totally unprepared to deliver items to you. they dont have a hand truck or anything!!! you have to help them deliver products due to this.. they also cancel items without your consent due to them running out of previously confirmed stock!! i will never ever, ever order from them. if they have door dash deivering for them that confirms their inability to handle customer srvce demands. read more

Have been a member of this club for a year now, honestly as a former Sam's Club member I prefer Sam's Club, but they're closed. I don't shop a lot here, but membership is only $25.00 compared to $60.00 at Costco, Costco is nicer, if I used a wholesale club a lot I would switch. Anyway, this place is fine, stocked well, good selection, clean, prices are good for large quantities. My only complaint (and I see it mentioned everywhere) is the entrance, such a weird and awkward traffic flow, it's like they purposely created a bottleneck at the entrance/exit for some reason? No clue, but terrible traffic flow. If you use wholesale clubs, this location is fine, Rochester only has 2 now, so this is the lower end, Costco is the nicer end, happy shopping. read more

My employer was offering discounted memberships to BJs and Costco. Considering this was closer to our house, I jumped on this opportunity. I got my fiance and I the 20% back membership. Signing up was easy and picking up our membership cards was stress free. We walked around the store a bit and browsed while shopping. We had never actually taken the time to see what BJs offers. My fiance and I decided when we redo the basement, we will be buying out TV from this store. We loved that everything comes in a big bulk box or bag. We have storage shelves for food so this works perfectly for us. We absolutely loved the meat section. They sell all sorts of goodies that my fiance cannot wait to purchase for pellet smoking. It is going to be a great summer for sure. read more

As a FORMER MEMBER who has been to this location OVER 100 TIMES, let me explain what I used to like about them, first. They had good deals on the following: Cases of beer, cat litter, Goya products, large containers of shampoo, propane tank refills, and gasoline. Now, why I am no longer a member, having switched to their competitor: Customer service is abysmal, especially when returning bottles that the always-full return machines won't accept. The layout of the gas station is awful, and you always have to wait a long time to fill-up. They sell clothing, but stock sizes mostly for short, fat people. They NEVER have jeans in 34/34. Never. Checkout lines are horribly long. The parking lot is a cratered mess. Every thing that you can get a good deal on at BJ's, you can get at Costco, with better selection, less waiting in lines, and with people who don't treat you like you are bothering them. Also, Costco's 'store brand' is always better quality than BJ's is. And, as an added benefit, Costco is closer to me. Sorry, BJ's, but you just fail in competition. My old review that you had removed (for no discernible reason) was a reluctant 3 stars. read more

I like BJ's for two reasons: the gas is cheap ( if you are stupid and go on the incorrect side from your tank, you can pull the gas line around and it reaches), and the fact that they accept coupons (unlike Sams). Bjs not only prints and distributes their own coupons, you can also stack manufacturer's coupons. They also accept cash, which some wholesale clubs do not. My favorite things to buy from here are: Pellegrino Sparkling Water, Talenti Gelato, Cleaning supplies, Personal Hygiene Items (razors, etc.), Cheese (their belgioso mozarella and manchego is a good deal), and some of their paper products. If you are going to get a membership for gas, just make sure they are open beforehand, because they close earlier than a normal station. read more

Ok I've been here a few times.. I've not checked in.. It's a wholesale club. They have a nice deli, my Polar Sparkling Water and a few other things. It's NO COSTCO.. But they do take coupons seriously they do... Certain things are great other things just meah.. The fee for a yearly membership is less than the big C... But the only reason I joined is I got a card to get a yearly membership for $25.00 so that's why I became a member. read more

This place never seems to enough registers open and the ones that are open seem to be flashing for a cust ser rep. The front entrance just trying to get in or out of the store is so narrow. Also the process at the end where a employee checks your cart and punches your receipt is a awful idea. Slows the customer from leaving and creates confusion and a bottleneck at entrance ,and impossible to get to or from the service desk. Earlier this week, I received a letter in the mail from a BJs manager along with a receipt that apparently I had left behind. His note said that he felt it was important to send it to me because it had a coupon at the bottom. I was so impressed with this level of customer service. They got a bad rep because of some crime that happened last year, but I tell you what, they have EVERYTHING that I need on my grocery list and beyond and their coupons are great. I will continue to shop at BJs first for my groceries. I only go elsewhere when I need small quantities. Thank you BJs :) read more

I've held off on writing a review on BJ's wholesale for almost a year while contemplating whether or not to explain why we canceled our membership and transferred to Costco. Ultimately, why we canceled is unimportant, but primarily relates to poor customer service and treatment which ended up escalating up the chain of hierarchy. Once our concerns were heard, I can say that management reached out several times, apologized and compensated their wrong doings and for that, along with the overall store experience, I'm giving BJ's two stars. During our time as members there, I can say that their selection of foods was good and prices were standard. They do seem to carry a wider variety of frozen foods than Costco, so if you have specific household brands that are preferred, then you're better off finding them here as opposed to the aforementioned. After everything is said and done, yes I would potentially rejoin BJ's wholesale, but there's no point in doing so when other stores have better customer service. read more

I received a free 60 day membership, trial offer coupon, from BJ's so thought I would redeem it. Naturally, the service desk personnel gave me the sch-peel for purchasing their 1-year membership at $42.00. With it came a free $50 gift card to be used at area restaurants. All I had to do was go to restaurants.com to view a list of the participating venues. Well, surprise, surprise, you have to download and print the gift card for each venue, they only offer $10 cards and you can only use one gift card per visit and you have to spend a minimum of $15-$20. If that's not a bate and switch, I don't know what is. I turned in my membership and got my money back. B.J's you've lost my business permanently. read more

If you are an RIT Student , you can get a temporary BJ's Member card. All you have to do is go to the customer service desk, give them your RIT ID and in exchange they will give you a BJ's Member card. After you are done shopping, you turn in the member card at the customer service desk and get your RIT ID back. It is a great way to stock up on toiletries, food and of course beer. :) read more

The good thing about BJ's as compared to Costco is that they don't have an employee stationed at the entrance checking your membership card before you go in and you can use any credit card you like, not just a debit card or Costco's credit card. The cost of gas is within 1 cent of each other. The offerings are really about the same, prices are similar. Our local BJ's is a little smaller than the local Costco but I really don't need a bigger store. I've decided to renew my BJ's membership and cancel Costco. read more

On the outside BJs seems like a great sweet place but when I started working there I realized quickly that it is one of the most toxic environments. Karen is one of the managers I have to work with and she is a down right rude and disrespectful. I have been working for almost half a year and have only called in acouple times due to sickness and the inability to actually get to work. I work all the time and weird hours, I take people's shifts, and I do jobs I didn't even get hired to do and I haven't complained once.
