We told the hostess at 4:30 that we wanted a table. Advised an hour wait. We were fine with that and came back over an hour later to check in our table as a text wasn't received. Advised by a young female hostess that we are one of the few tables left. 3 hours of waiting. In total and we asked if we could have cocktails first. They said they would only abide if we waited in the back of the cocktail line. The male host was unapologetic when we explained we have been waiting a few hours already. The couple in line ahead of us for a table went up for a cocktail and came down a few minutes later advising the staff was rude and they weren't organized. Waste of time and energy. read more

I went to Topside for the first time tonight. I have tried to come here several times but the wait is too long. There was no wait on Thursday night. I walked in and went to the bar and met Brian. He is the bar manager and was the best bartender ever. So sweet, carrying the conversation, and made us feel welcomed. Brian made the experience a 10/10. He recommended some drinks and small plates. When we received the drinks and small plates, my friends and I were so impressed and happy with the recommendations! If you guys ever come, recommend Brian. This was our 5th time going. Aside from a fire alarm and kitchen a fire, the food has declined and the prices still go up. Love the view but not with the price. The oysters were good but small. We came for drinks only. They were decent but the seating situation seemed strange - couples would sit down and be told to leave the tables by staff who said they were reserved for people being served by wait staff. But walking in, no hostess asked if you wish to be seated or hit the bar. It felt a bit confusing. The bathrooms were definitely sub par. The sink was loose and nearly falling off its mount, and there was quite a bit of pee on the floor. I was excited to try one of the only ocean front roof tops in Palm beach county but was a bit disappointed with my experience. Im not sure if there is a serious shortage of sparkling water effecting the Southern states but I find myself here again with flat water in my hand. No sparkling water, out of all frozen drinks early on a top day in season. Blessed with a beautiful evening and a nice breeze i looked past these issues and ordered a food sampling. No substitutions or withheld items from the menu so we took a few handhelds as allowed. The food was ok, nothing good or bad to comment on. Service was a bit overwhelmed but very accommodating. There are a number of options nearby, I suggest grabbing a drink after dinner here and enjoying the key lime beignets. read more

Beautiful views & location. Unfortunately, the bartender service is consistently awful. Rude, rude, rude. The bartenders don't acknowledge you waiting for a drink, they're having conversations w each other and with patrons instead of serving people who are waiting. Then when you do get their attention, they just stare at you. Zero manners. Zero customer service. Youre made to feel like a nuisance. Management needs to train their bar staff!!!! read more

2 s for the View..beautiful breeze up top sitting along the balcony.. That being said, we were told we needed to order drinks and food from the bar (no waiter service). The group of 4 next to us had waiter service, which BTW their dirty dishes & drinks sat for at least 45 minutes and the next group had to request for it to be removed. That group waited & waited for service and no one helped them. They left. The place has no paper napkins unless you grab paper towels from the bathroom. 1st drink had zero alcohol in it- a Margarita. 2nd drink was much better. No consistency. It's a joke. Nothing local about this place even though they claim to be support the community. The DJ booth is a perfect example. The drinks are bad and the bartenders worse. This was our first time at the Topside and we will be back. We went around 130pm so it was not so busy. Next time we will try out their food but this time we were just there for the drinks and scenery. We absolutely enjoyed our time spent there, mostly because of our engaging, gregarious bartender, Simon, who was attentive to our needs and very entertaining! He gets a 10 on a 1-10 scale! The only drawback to the Topside is the seating they have that is closer to the water view it is just not conducive to 2 people, as I think someone else mentioned this previously, but we would have missed meeting Simon if the seating would have been different , so it was a win win for us! The food is horrible, we couldn't even eat it. We got tuna cones which were visually cute but inedible. The cone was super sweet and the tuna had no flavor. We got the shrimp skewers which were wet and seemed steamed. We also got seafood salad wraps and it had a Smokey flavor to it, so bad. Atmosphere is beautiful so that's good I guess. Was there about two weeks ago and have been there a couple times prior, all I can really say is the place could be great with the view it has but it's overpriced and the food isn't good! The bartenders seems overwhelmed most of the time when busy and it was tough to get the over priced mojito I had! They charge $16 for a mojito btw in a tiny glass and there isn't even any mint in it when they are given to you! So I switched to beer instead and they don't have much of a selection there either but there are $8 bud lights. The Guacamole was the highlight of the night because it was the only thing that was really good! My GF had a couple overpriced tacos and with the corn tortilla if you don't eat them quickly they fall apart and really aren't even good at all! Again the place can be great with the view and the atmosphere but it seems who ever is running that place is running it into the ground. read more

There is a very limited menu but food was good! , if you are looking for ambiance and drinks it is fine. Service is questionable , had to beg for a drink. Bartenders standing behind bar chatting . Not sure who is managing it , they serve red whine chilled , ( white wine is chilled not red) ruined the taste.. Place needs work but location and atmosphere is great. What a beautiful spot! Spectacular views along the Jupiter Inlet with views the inlet, the Intracoastal, barrier island, the lighthouse, and boating activity. So much action all around to gawk at. I would never walk into any of the restaurants again after last night... Their policy is disgusting and disgraceful... My friends and I waited to go upstairs at Topside...A security person in the front said it was filled that we'd have to wait 15 minutes, which was reasonable if it was overcrowded. .20 minutes later they blatantly made us wait and allowed all younger adults to go upstairs... patrons in front and back of us were definitely over a certain age and we watched the kids go upstairs... They were manipulative and knew we weren't gonna wait much longer and make sure we left... All of a sudden as we are the last bunch to walk away they let all the younger people upstairs... obvious that they are gearing towards a younger adult crowd and totally discriminated mature adults and I'm not saying old... LOL... Horrible policy they better get it together... The managers and owners better read this post and definitely address what went on there on Friday night... You know what you're doing and it's obvious... So unprofessional and this is coming from someone who is in this business... Had an opportunity to try the $24 carrots at topside. Server came out with a 5lb mountain of bright delicious roasted carrots. More carrots than anyone could handle. Skin was orange for weeks after. Cured my astigmatism and was able to discard my contacts and glasses as my vision had become a perfect 20/20. Flocks of local hawks have begun to contact me for vision advice. I now see the mice before them. Currently in talks with Lockheed Martin about my newly found night vision abilities. Highly recommend the carrots from Topside at the Beacon. read more

Our waitress, Jessica, was very rude and unfriendly, once she realized we weren't there for drinks during happy hour but a lite bite. Never brought us water, napkins or utensils and had to ask the gentleman that brought us our sandwiches. Didn't ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks and walked right by us when my husband was handing her the check. We didn't even think it was open yet, so when we happened to be exploring the area we were happy to see it open. While the view is cool, the chairs we were sent to (across from the bar) were clunky, heavy material and high, so once you were seated, you couldn't pull yourself closer to the table. Not comfortable in our estimation. The menu leaves a lot to be desired. But we tried the crispy duck tapas ~ supposedly to 'share' - but they only give you 3 very small wonton crispy duck things. i was so excited to finally try this place, but i was not pleased with my experience at all. we were sat at the swinging egg chairs on the outskirts of the rooftop. my friend and i had our ankles resting on our TINY table (not much larger than a foot stool) just to keep our swinging egg chairs stable while we were waiting for the waitress to come greet us. the bald manager in the vest who stands at the top of the stairs came over and said "you guys need to get your feet off of the table, people eat here you know". we are grown women and don't need this man to tell us proper restaurant etiquette, this is not our first rodeo clearly. cmon dude, nobody thinks you're a big shot. it was just so distasteful. we chose to order the $75 drink chest on the menu to split between the two of us. it was okay, just a little too much cinnamon and sweetness. the menu had legit 3 food items on it: charcuterie board, churros and filet. would definitely not come here for a meal. our waitress was awesome though, and so was the manager in the grey suit that came to check on us. overall, i won't be returning. don't put your rude managers at the top of the stairs who may give off the same impression that he did to us. read more

So, I can see I'm not alone in finding the service and attitude lacking at Topside. I've been there twice and without a doubt, they seem to be trying to set a vibe of exclusivity. Both times there, I saw plenty of tables and space, yet they were telling people there was an hour wait. The hosts do not seem experienced and act like they're doing you a favor by just talking to you. Once when I was there, we had more people than chairs. So we moved a chair from another area and it was comical how the hostess reacted. She yelled at us that we cannot move chairs, even when a table of two men with three chairs, offered us the extra. We finally got our server to get us a bar chair - after he spilled two cocktails on us - and the hostess again came storming over to us. She had to relent when we explained the server gave it to us. Topside definitely needs to work on their customer service! Summer is coming and you'll need the locals!! read more
