Came in for their summer pre fix menu: 3 courses for $50, and for happy hour! Bartender was super friendly, thanks Cameron! We all grabbed seats at the bar and had a martini. Seated on time for our reservation. Waiter was super friendly and attentive. Lots of selections available for their summer pre fix menu. Upon arrival, I had the opportunity to witness a staff meeting taking place before the restaurant opened for dinner. It was refreshing to see the team preparing and setting intentions for the evening ahead. Matteo's offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere feels open, warm, and inviting. I chose to sit at the bar so I could catch part of the game, and I ordered a cocktail made with pink grapefruit, vodka, and a splash of lime. I can't recall the name, but it was absolutely amazing refreshing and perfectly balanced. For dinner, I ordered the Pizza Parma and added a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, which beautifully accentuated the flavors of the Gorgonzola, fig jam, and arugula. Every bite was delicious. As a first time diner at Matteo's, I did not know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised by what a wonderful experience we had there last night. Upon arrival I was impressed with the decor right away. What a beautiful setting, understated elegance at it's best. I was greeted with a smile and a hello by the hostess who led me to the room where my party was seated. We had the space all to ourselves as if we were at a private gathering - so nice! The dining room we were in was on the other side of the bar with shelves and lighting that highlighted all the beautiful bottles perched there. Very pretty! When I got there water and bread were already on the table. Our server introduced himself as Stevie and his personality was shining from the start. Very personable, friendly and entertaining. He took excellent care of us, catering to our every need, even some we didn't realize we had! He had everything down to a science and served us efficiently. I ordered a Chardonnay and he brought it out right away. It was perfect! Not too dry, buttery, delicious! Some of us ordered from the three course menu for $49. I went with that myself and was very pleased with my meal. I started with the Creamy Burrata which was served with sliced red and yellow tomato and some greens, and accented with honey and some balsamic vinegar. Such a lovely dish! I enjoyed it very much. Next I had the Shrimp Luciano that Stevie recommended and it did not disappoint either. Big shrimp cooked just right in a nice red sauce with some slivered garlic over sauteed spinach - so yummy! I wanted to eat it all but decided to make two meals out of it and took half home. That way I get to enjoy it again. For my third course I chose the Salted Caramel Gelato and it was smooth, sweet, a little butterscotchy. Cold creaminess in a bowl. This was an amazing meal and I thoroughly loved everything I had to eat. The service made it even better - thank you to Stevie and to the other staff that assisted him. My family dined at Matteo's last night for my Dad's Birthday. We had been to this location once before during season & enjoyed it. Not sure what changed. Pleasant atmosphere, attentive & friendly wait staff, however the food was basically overcooked (lambchops undercooked) & void of flavor. My husband had the 3 Prawns & a spoonful of cous cous for $49. Dad had the Chicken Francaise. My Brother in law had the Pasta Vongole. The only adequate dish seemed to be my Sister's Eggplant. We've eaten at other Matteo locations on Long Island as well as the location in Jupiter years ago and Although they were nice enough to serve Dad a piece of cheesecake with a candle for his birthday, sad to say that we most likely will not be returning to Matteo's any time soon. read more

Really happy to get a reservation since it was the holidays and a lot of people in town. Our reservation was at 8:00 pm and the four of us tried to get seats at the bar which was impossible. Bar is big and looks like a great place to have drinks and dinner which is what we like to do. Our hostess sat us at a table and our server whose name I can't remember came over and took our drink order. The menu is huge and there are so many good choices. Our server was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. We ordered a delicious fig salad with crispy prosciutto and cheese over arugula. We also shared a really good tartuffi pizza with truffles and ricotta. For my entree our server told us we could get a smaller sizes of pasta which were still huge and I wound up taking it home. I got the fusilli calabrese which had lamb, sausage and meatballs. It was out of this world! My friend ordered the veal Milanese which the four of us could've shared. Next time we know not to order a lot as the portions on everything were very large. Highly recommend this place there is also an outdoor area with space heaters. This location of Matteo's is the poster child of failed expansion for restaurant brands. Yes, the Miami and Boca locations are good, but the north Palm Beach location offers a noisy atmosphere with average food and weak service. My party had the chicken Matteo (extremely average and mostly red peppers with limited chicken), a trufi pizza (mostly arugula, no truffles in sight, minimal Mushrooms and the taste was a below average), the salmon which was prepared fine and a Caesar salad. The most legendary part of our dinner was when we ordered the rigatoni bolognese, which Matteo's is known for and the waiter only notified us they were unable to make the dish 30 minutes later. No apology was offered and one member of our party got to sit at the table without food while everybody had to eat. Ridiculous..... The atmosphere: 5/10, looks new but nothing special and it's extremely loud. The food: 5/10, nothing tasted great. The pasta options on the menu were unappetizing. I have never been to an Italian restaurant and thought, not one of these pastas (besides the bolognese) sounds good. The pizza was below average too. The service: 1/10, after the waiter messing up and only letting us know they couldn't make the pasta 30 minutes later they did not apologize or offer us a single thing. What good restaurant behaves that way. Overall, this is a C-. There are too many places that are superior in every way. Plus they lack the courtesy you'd expect for a supposedly good restaurant is disappointing. When you screw up, you offer your patrons an apology. The manager never even came over to our table. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff was wonderful -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the food. The salad with fig and prosciutto didn't taste great. The burrata was very bland. For the family-style Chicken Parm ($42), it came with only three pieces of chicken and no sides. The vodka sauce was the worst we've ever had -- very disappointing at that price point. On the positive side, our waiter took good care of us and comped a free dessert. When we were leaving, the owner couldn't apologize enough and said he wished he had known about our issues earlier. That kind of accountability was appreciated. Overall, the setting and service were excellent, but the food didn't meet our expectations. We're willing to give them another chance because of the great hospitality. We told the staff it was his birthday and specifically asked for a candle, yet nothing was done to acknowledge it. We have been going to Matteo's about 2-3 times a month. We always sit at the bar. Always have great service, especially from Cameron. Tonight we went in, and we ordered. The manager Giuseppe came by and rudely told my son to take off his hat. We didn't know they had a dress code as he has worn a hat in there before. We don't mind following the rules. It was the condescending way he told him. Then we were ignored the rest of our visit. I sat at the bar with no food and no drink. Giuseppe came back by and lavished over the couple next to us. I called him over and said that I thought it was interesting that he cared so much about what my son was wearing but didn't seem to care if we were being served. He didn't try to de-escalate the situation. He waved his hand in dismissal and told us not to come back. The other servers were in disbelief and could not believe he spoke to us like that. They actually tried to de-escalate the situation but he doubled down and told us that he didn't need our business. I have never been treated this way. I can find somewhere else to spend my $100 plus dollars on two drinks (one nonalcoholic) and appetizers. Do better. read more

It's hard to find a bad Italian restaurant on A1A but Matteo's is one. In there defense we were seated promptly at a nice table for 6. Unfortunately for others we were on the side that had working AC. If you were in the other rooms it felt like a swamp. It took 10 minutes to place a drink order and that only occurred after hailing the matte d. They were out of a number of their wine choices so we went with a cocktail which then took another 15 maybe 20 minutes to arrive. Our order was taken about 20 minutes after seating. The waiter said it would take a long time to come w/o explanation. We should have left . It did take along time. My wife pizza came before salads. They then brought out a single mediocre salad for the table. Finally entrees came out including another pizza that one of our friends ordered. The food was unremarkable. I had pasta. , others had fish or pasta. Everyone said their dish was fine. They made a big deal about these being family style portions. They are not. As an entree they might be a generous helping but hardly family size. Also most dishes are heavy cream very few lighter choices. This is a chain and this is a new store but it's been open more than a year so no excuse. Apparently they had a place on Jupiter that was a train wreck. No need to go back here read more
