The food was very good! It was fresh and the ingredients were fresh. The portions for the half chips and queso was surprisingly good. The employees were friendly too. I liked the vibe but could have been just a little more clean inside.

One more time I can't believe I didn't review this place the last time I was here!!! Maybe I wasn't Elite then...but I should have! I LOVE this place and have been to Torchy's in several Texas cities. I had a two different tacos, an avocado and a shrimp, both were amazing! I am happy to see that they have a plant based taco as well, I will try that next time. I love their queso...got it without the chorizo...and I was in heaven! If you are ever in the area...do yourself a favor and stop in...you won't be sorry!

Delicious tacos with easy and fast service. What could be better? The portions of meat are great for the price and the flavor combinations of each taco are fun and tasty. There are various seating options at this location including outdoor, bar, booths and tables.

This place was packed on Ironman wknd, but the wait was short, considering the crowd & well worth the visit! Reasonable prices, great food.

So many times in college, I would stop by Jimenez mid-day for my fix of their Three Amigos plate: Asado de Puerco, Carne Guisada, & Picadillo. Served with a fair helping of chips and salsa, it was a perfect lunch. Their tacos made them one of the best spots in Lubbock. Their placement in the Top 50 Taco Joints in Texas by Texas Monthly is well deserved. On Saturday, the game changes as they serve a Texas Monthly recognized barbecue. Their brisket is delectable, their sausage has a perfect kick, and all their sides are delightful. One of their delights is the La Tia. A barbecue sandwich except it's served on a house-made concha. Holy smokes. It's sugary and if served with brisket, is a glorious creation. I was driving through Lubbock and had to make a stop when I found out they were serving barbecue on a Friday. I got their Brisket Specialty Taco: two corn tacos with beans, shredded cheese, fried egg, and, of course, brisket. In addition, because my greed has no bounds, I got their Philthy Taco: 2 corn tacos, fried egg, potatoes, salsa ranchero, queso, and their smoked barbacoa. I called ahead and ordered before they closed at 2 pm and picked them up right at 1:57 pm (praise the lord). I mowed down both of them. For two tacos, they are most filling. I would've been full off of one. I am still wowed by what they can whip up. It's to-go only as Jimenez runs a small little shop on 34th Street, but they pack it with a ton of love and might. They're some of the best people in Lubbock, and Lubbock gives them all the love back. They just simply don't miss. RIYL: Mexican pastries, tacos, and barbecue

My first time I went, my group of guys and I were put in a room with all the other white people. Not to say they were profiling, but looking at the rest of the restaurant's population on a busy Sunday, they had us in the gringo room. The food hit. I get putting a bunch of three-taco-plate-and-queso people in one room. I have not been back in quite a while, but I remember their menu being the most behemoth-looking thing ever. Every item had a picture taken on a Coolpix camera, and the text was almost impossible to read on the menu's busy background. That is proof that the food was going to hit. After returning, the menu has been minimized to be more readable, only slightly keeping that same over-the-top flair. The prices have gone up slightly, but where have they not? On a Thursday night, we were seated immediately around 7:30 and had a pretty attentive waitress. Like every good Tex-Mex joint in Texas, their chips and salsa roam freely through the restaurant, and the salsa has a good kick that is easy to manage while still having the heat everyone wants. They also have a creamy green sauce and other sauces they bring out by request. I ordered a combination plate with a crispy beef taco, a beef burrito, and a chicken enchilada with a side of Mexican rice. I added a side of refried beans because no Tex-Mex meal is complete without a big serving of refried beans to mix with the rice and crush with tortilla chips. The crispy taco was unreal. The shell feels like it was double-fried. It has such an incredible hardness to it. It feels premium. The beef burrito and enchilada were great as well, but I was blown away by the taco to an extreme. They have a pretty broad selection of Mexican beers, including Tecate, Bohemia, Dos Equis Amber, Modelo Negra, and Victoria next to your Coronas, Sol, and Dos Equis. Their margaritas are pretty great, if my memory serves me right, as well. I love this place, and I was glad to give it a revisit while being back in Lubbock for a bit. It is just classic and timeless. I just wish their menu was as much of an eyesore as it used to be because that sucker brought me so much joy. RIYL: Gaining five pounds in an hour. A good meal.
