It had been several years since I had been to Anna's. The one time I went the salsa was way too hot. My wife had never been so we gave it another try. I've been missing out. The salsa is perfect now. Lots of flavor with just a bit of heat. I also had the Juarez, which is a fired poblano with a cheese enchilada along with rice and beans. It's a plate cleaner. Amazing. It was my first time in Texas and I stopped by Anna's for a quick lunch and I was not disappointed! I got the new blackened tilapia that came with rice and Tex-Mex style salad and omg the tilapia was soft and very well seasoned. I also had the fish taco which was also delicious. Service was phenomenal. Everyone was super friendly and attentive making sure my water was always full. I heard this place recently renovated and I maybe biased but since green is my favorite color, their decor was cute and very foliage. I enjoyed my time at Anna's and would recommend if you're stopping by for lunch or dinner. I will definitely back again if I'm ever in the Lubbock area. read more

I used to really enjoy this food but the last couple of times that I have gone here, the quality of the food had gone down. We use to love their beans but they taste like beans that come out of a can giving it a bean dip flavor. Not a fan. The Isaiah dinner used to be one of my favorites because I love the taste of brisket in a chili relleno. I got it this time and we about 3/4 of a tablespoon of shredded brisket on top of the relleno. The brisket use to come with a generous portion embedded throughout the relleno. Not anymore! The only thing that has increased is the price. NOT a fan. Their rice was good and the chips were good. I don't mind paying more for food when the quality goes up with it but I think paying more for food when the quality has gone down is not right and so I will not be going back. Ann P. read more

I was in town for a business meeting. A colleague suggested Anna's and to my surprise I had never been or heard of it. We went for dinner during the week. The customer service from the hostess and the servers were exceptional. Kind, helpful with suggestions and quick on the food order. We ordered the guacamole, queso with meat, 3 orders of the chicken fajitas and the chicken taco salad. The salsa has just the right spice kick and the chicken tasted slowly marinated. All of our meals were delicious and left us sated. Now that I've been, I will be back and I would definitely recommend to anyone who lives in Lubbock or just visiting. 2 Star is not for a Food Review, but for Atmosphere, Ambiance. We finally had a chance to get to Anna's during a time we could go that aligned with when they were actually open. Pulled up in parking lot, Packed. As we were walking up to door, you could hear the Music outside coming through the walls, windows, doors. Walked in, line of people awaited us. Music was BLASTING. Talking about level 10 out of 10. Not only that, but you could also hear HUMAN interaction mixed in with the Music. People already there seated at Tables were yelling amongst each other trying to carry on a conversation. This has also been shared within a couple of reviews here on Yelp. We worked our way past line of people all crammed into that one corridor that lead the dining area to the Hostess Booth to put our name on list. Young Girl said maybe 15-20 Minutes. Considering we finally made it to Anna's when they were actually open, we thought OK, let's wait and finally give it a try. Then we pushed our way back to the end of the line for our wait. We could not even carry on a Conversation. If we tried to say anything to each other, nothing was heard it was so loud in that place. Finally after 10 minutes or so, and only seeing one Group get seated in that 10 minutes, with 5-6 groups in front of us, we finally had enough and walked out. The LOUDNESS of the place had taken its toll, we had had enough. Glad we did. Don't think I could have taken much longer of a wait, THEN another 40-45 minute, 1 hour Dinner in that Noise, Atmosphere. If the Music and Noise of Anna's had been lower, bearable, we would have waited it out and judged Anna's for their Food and Service, but the Atmosphere from the start did not allow that. Will we give it another try, attempt? Probably not. After a LONG wait to give Anna's a try to only have this experience without even getting a chance to try it for it's food, I don't see bothering trying again. There's dozens of other Mexican Food restaurants here in Lubbock we need to try first. read more

This place is really good. I have not been disappointed by anything I have eaten here... They have a daily special Monday-Thursday at a very reasonable price and I don't have a favorite.. The service is very good... The restaurant is tastefully decorated and clean... I think everyone should try it. read more

Absolutely delicious!!! Cheese enchiladas, and perfect chili relleno combined with really nice salsa and creamy queso I e lived in lubbock 20+ years and eat here a couple times per year. This visit ensures I will be back very soon!! The relleno better was crisp, yet light and the cheese inside the pepper was the right consistency and flavor. I am a true cheese enchilada critic, and I'll say these are around a 9.2!! Try this place if you haven't been here lately. You won't regret it. This was our first visit, and it was average. We were immediately seated, and very shortly, thereafter, our server took our drink order and brought chips and salsa. The chips were fresh, and the salsa was very good with just the right amount of spice. Our meal consisted of an enchilada/taco combo and fish tacos w/street corn. The enchilada/taco combo was good. My husband and I came here for a late lunch. We were very surprised at how good it was! Noel our waiter was excellent. Everything we had was good. I had the Mia (#7) plate which was a taco, brisket tamale, and enchilada with rice and beans. My husband had the Phenix burrito plate. What I likes about it was nothing tasted like chili powder (like so many Mexican restaurants overdo In their food) and they offer a variety of sauces, including a green chili sauce I had on my beef enchilada. The absolute best Mexican food in West TEXAS. Great service and the food is superb. The best part is they do NOT use a 5 gallon bucket of lard for each meal like any other Mexican place. They don't use any at all and perhaps that is why the food tastes so much better. read more

We come here once to twice a month for the last 4-5 years. Food is consistently great. The have daily specials that are a deal. Very affordable. Service is usually fast as is the meal. We get the cheese enchiladas and taco plate. Chips and salsa are great. When I eat Tex-Mex elsewhere, I tend to compare it to Anna's. read more
