Kimchi Ramen and I think it's called Spicy beef bowl
Sopha D.

Cute town with lots of options and things to try. Parking is def on a tricky side but there is a big parking area a few blocks away. Def suggest coming early before the dinner rush to get a spot. With that being said, I LOVE Tori Ramen! The workers are super friendly and quick to refill water and send out our dishes. The wings are to die for! Jammed packed with flavor! There's also boneless wings for those not a fan of the bones (which ya are nuts haha) The ramen broth is thick and flavorful, I tried a rice dish this time and it did not disappoint one bit. Only thing missing was spice but that's my preference and I'm sure I could have asked for hot sauce. BTW It's a BYOB so grab a bottle of soju and sip on some ramen and enjoy!

Good food for cold days like those we are having lately; I went in town for business and I tried this place. It was a gem , good service nice ambience and most important, great ramen ! Good job guys, I'll be back if in town!

Tonkotsu Ramen
Tommy H.

We wanted a quick lunch and saw this restaurant on yelp. The ramens were very good and flavorful, with the tonkotsu broth being on the peppery side. The soy garlic wings were crunchy and flavor was not too over powering. The service was efficient, and the staff are friendly. It's a nice restaurant with a decent amount of seating. The prices are great so we will definitely be returning.

Udon stir fry with spicy pork

With a real craving for ramen, my boyfriend and I landed in Tori ramen last night. It's a nice smaller restaurant and since it was a Saturday night it was very busy but we got seated right away. Once I saw they had bao on the menu I got two to try - the chicken katsu and the spicy kani. Both delicious and very well portioned. The chicken katsu was flavorful and perfectly crispy. My boyfriend got the udon stir fry with spicy pork which was delicious. It came with some rice cakes as well and veggies. I would actually get this dish over the ramen here - very well seasoned super flavorful. I got the fish and rice cake ramen with added veggies. It was good but a little bland - I was hoping for some chili oil or something to add to the broth. I mean don't get me wrong, I finished it but just wish there was a little more kick to the broth. Overall this is a great place for some excellent bao and noodle dishes. My boyfriend also tried the soy garlic wings and loved them. There was a huge crunch in every bite. Don't sleep on the wings and the bao here.

Lots of good things about Tori Ramen and Chicken. First off the staff, they're numerous, friendly, and efficient. Their pricing is a deal and so they probably rely on turning around the tables very quickly. Be prepared to know what you want a minute or two after being seated! Space itself is small but they make it work. The food was pretty good considering costs. I wish the broth was less salty. Might depend on the day. The chicken was a tad salty too. They give you an option between sweet & sour or soy garlic... considering it's salty already go with the sweet and sour. I'd come back!

Tonkatsu

everytime we come here we always get the takoyaki. they really do have one of the best - texture, flavor, execution and portion! every single ball always has a nice chunk of octopus and we love it! they are also known for their ramen. So far their kimchi ramen and tonkotsu stood out for us in flavor and was enjoyable to eat. Their pork katsu is pretty good as well - Meaty and crunchy! recently ive tried their spicy pork bowl and it was also delicious! i love that the spice level is tolerable and it has that hint of sweetness in the pork. This is one of those go-to spots in Ridgewood so it can get busy and crowded - hopefully you'd be willing to wait and enjoy the meal like we did

Medium Tenders
Chris E.

Solid ramen and food, but busy, busy during dinner (WHICH IS A GOOD SIGN)! Since we're a family of 4, we typically try to go to dinner a bit earlier than "normal" people so that we can get our kids home earlier so we dropped in at 6pm on a very, very warm and sunny Friday Spring day. Honestly, 6pm is later than our usual dinner time, but we didn't expect the crowd that we saw at this local restaurant already chowing down. Almost all of the tables were occupied and, not shockingly, most customers were families with kids, so they had the same idea as we had. Anyhow, the restaurant is average-sized, but tight. The menu was pretty much typical of a classic ramen restaurant - ramens, Japanese-style appetizers and small rice bowls. With the ramens, there were quite a few to choose from, but, more surprisingly, they were VERY, VERY reasonably priced at around $12-13. We ended up ordering: - TAKOYAKI - PORK BUNS 2 Pcs - MEDIUM TENDERS - MISO RAMEN - Miso broth with slices of pork, egg, corn, tofu, rice cake and scallions. - KATSU RAMEN - Chicken and pork broth with breaded pork cutlet, egg and scallio First, the appetizers. EXCELLENT! Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of Takoyaki as I never liked the Takoyaki sauce that is brushed on, but Tori might make the best Takoyaki I ever tried! The flavor of the sauce wasn't super strong, but the Takoyaki was still very tasty. Also, the pork buns were spot on. The pork was juicy, flavorful and easily was much larger than the buns themselves. As for the ramen, they were solid like I said earlier. Not close to the best ramen I ever had, but it still filled us up. Yes, the broth was good, but if it wasn't for the broth, I could have mistaken it for instant ramen. Something about the way the ramen looked just reminded me of the ramen we all know and love when we make it at home. Nevertheless, it was OK as the flavors were decent, just something about the look of the ramen. AND, can't forget those medium tenders. NOW, this surprised me. Yes, they're just tenders, but they came out crispy, hot and they came with a soy garlic dipping sauce. Give me this ALL DAY LONG and I'd be good. Even though this was for my son, I loved it, loved it, loved it. Simple perfection. The service was good and friendly throughout. The food did come out unusually very fast though, which can be good and bad. And, be prepared to wait if you arrive at 6:30pm or later on a weekend. Turnover is fairly high, but this place is POPPIN' amongst the locals. Also, parking can be tough during prime times as they only have street parking.

Miso ramen
Monissa W.

The food was absolutely delicious! We went on a rainy evening, which turned out to be the perfect weather for enjoying a comforting bowl of ramen. I ordered the miso ramen and was delighted to find it filled with tender tofu and chewy rice cakes. We also tried the spicy and sweet chicken wings, which were incredibly flavorful, and the pork buns, generously stuffed with a hearty amount of pork. The staff were kind and attentive, making the experience even better. Plus, the restaurant itself is charming, cozy, and spotless. Highly recommend!

Veg Ramen.
Tiff G.

Tori Ramen has a unique taste that I love. We ordered the Veg Ramen, Soy Garlic Wings and Stir Fry noodles. Everything was delicious. The wings are my absolute favorite and the Ramen too! We ordered to-go but we usually dine in. If you like Ramen or want to try it - this is a good option for adults and kids. Service is good/friendly. Atmosphere is also good. Food comes out fast.

Shant W.

The plates has some spots on them but it very little spots on dust or something like that. The atmosphere is great it's very authentic. The most important part the food, the spicy soy garlic wings were the best wings I ever had. The beef dumplings were good the ramen was also mid. The service was great really nice. Over roll 4.5 most recommended.

Pork Katsu Bao Buns
Brie A.

I've recently become obsessed with ramen, and I am going to different restaurants to try to find my favorite ramen place. This was truthfully one of the worst dining experiences my boyfriend and I have ever had. First off, the waitress asked us to wait outside for our table until it was ready (which was fine) but she proceeded to slam on the glass to get our attention when the table was ready. It was a little rude. We barely sat down and she came by and forcefully asked if we were ready to order. It was overwhelming. They only half-filled our water glasses every time which was really weird also. The only saving grace was the Pork Katsu Bao Buns and my boyfriend's Chicken Katsu meal because they actually tasted good. My boyfriend however waited for a while for his meal (I was almost finished with mine by the time he got his). It was awkward. The ramen I got was the worst ramen I've ever had. It tasted like seafood with no spices or no other flavors. I expected the broth to at least have some other flavor to balance out the seafood. The seafood was also rubbery. Even the onions in my ramen weren't flavorful. I do not recommend ordering the Seafood Ramen. Needless to say, we'll never go back again.

Spicy Chicken Wings
Chelsea A.

I've heard of this place but never took it upon myself to go. That was until I was visiting a friend about 20 minutes out and wanted to bring an appetizer. I came in around 4:30pm on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded. That speaks great things about the food ! I was only ordering to-go. The lady at the front was really friendly! I got the Spicy wings. They were packed nicely with a thank you sticker and one part of the box left open to aerate so that they don't get soggy on the way out. Smart! The wings were super yummy and flavorful, though I'm not sure if my spice tolerance went up? They weren't as spicy as expected. Next time I go when I'm in the area, I'll definitely want to try dining in the restaurant and if I get another order of the wings, I'll make a special request to make them extra spicy ;)

Octopus balls
Mel Y.

A tasty and busy ramen spot with friendly service They have a good variety of ramen including to tonkatsu, miso and vegetarian, as well as katsu rice dishes and other miscellaneous items. The miso ramen was flavorful, with pork, corn, scallions, a half egg. Not huge, huge portions but definitely enough. The chicken katsu was pretty good but probably could have used more interest on the plate (had a salad and rice and a half egg). The octopus balls were a treat; each ball had a few pieces of octopus in it. They did run out of a few things like shumai and snapper katsu, which was a little disappointing. There were plenty of customers rolling in for sit down and takeout but the service was pretty fast. Service was friendly and responsive which helps to turn over the tables.

Why is the phone constantly busy?? Trying to place an order for pickup is impossible, you can't even message their instagram to get an answer...

So sorry for the happen, these day we short of the staff for the answering phone call. Sorry for the inconvenience.…

Is this place open because I am tired of calling and no one answers except a Verizon recording?

Tori Ramen of Ridgewood NJ is open.

Do they have outdoor dining here?

They did not every time we have been there previously, but maybe they changed due to the current situation. It is doubtful because there wasn't a lot of space in front but I would suggest calling.

Is this a BYOB restaurant?

Yes!

For dinner, I tried the shio ramen, which was basically the same thing, but with a sea salt tare instead of soy sauce. I also got wavy noodles this time and I definitely prefer the wavy noodles. I decided on their newest edition--Wonton Ramen and 3 pieces of Fried Chicken. The savory ramen soup was filled with shrimp wontons. Even though they were very thin wonton wrappers with a smaller amount of filling, they tasted consistent with other shrimp wontons from past restaurants, accompanied by Menma Bamboo, Scallions, and Egg. The Fried Chicken was well seasoned. The food overall remained authentic and incredibly flavorful and on point. The portion was very generous. Friendly service, and the price was reasonable. Not only is the food awesome - I ordered a ramen, plain hot dog, and halo-halo shaved ice (addictively good) - but bonus stars to the staff who were sooo sweet! The Hawaiian style shaved ice and home-made ice cream are top notch. The ice cream is rich and delicious, with some unique flavors, and the shaved ice is very fine - fluffy and evenly slushy in texture and sweetness, unlike the inferior versions where you run into bland chips of ice. The toppings are yum too. The ramen noodles are springy, settled in a savory light broth. For a non-prestige grade ramen, I have no complaints. I also want to acknowledge the lovely hospitality. My child was in a tantrum-y mood and went to sulk by himself in a corner. We walked past it 3 times and when we finally left they decided to shine a light with the logo on the floor. When walking in it's more of a lounge than a true restaurant so prepare for that. You will sit right next to people which isn't my preference but it was fine. We started off with the cucumber salad which was excellent. Just wish there was more cucumber than other veggies they put in it. We then got the Cacio e Pepe Gyoza which was the star of the show. It's was unbelievably good. We followed that up with the calamari which was also extremely good and finished our apps with the Chicken Bao buns that were delicious. My friend got the carbonara dinner and honestly I don't get all the hype. Honestly I thought it did not taste good at all. I had one bite and that was enough. I wasn't sure what it exactly was that made it unappetizing but it just wasn't great for the amount of hype social media gives it. The presentation was beautiful for pictures but the taste wasn't there at all. I had the Spicy Miso Ramen which was very tasty. Only problem was it was about 110 degrees in the restaurant which made hot ramen a lot less enjoyable. The beef that they also put in it didn't taste like much just a piece a beef so that was a little underwhelming. Service was very nice, it just seemed they struggled tending to each table consistently, not sure if they were short staffed or just extremely busy because it was a Friday night. Nonetheless everyone was super friendly and tending to our needs eventually. Overall, I'd say the appetizers were the star of the show. I thought all were delicious. Entrees were a little underwhelming though my ramen was delicious, it was just extremely hot in the restaurant for some reason. Staff were good and price was what I expected. Great place to try but probably won't go back. I shouldn't leave a place sweating after a date night. I think social media hypes the place up too much but it is good just not great.
