This restaurant has solid cocktail and wine lists, and a fairly extensive food menu which likely has something to accommodate nearly everyone's tastes, and menus are available in either English or Spanish. During our first visit we shared an order of guac and chips to start, and though the guacamole was good, the chips were thick and baked rather than fried and to be frank, I was afraid I'd break a tooth on them. For my main course that night I had the chicken breast with vegetables and it was very good. During our second visit we had the queso fundido to share, and I had a caesar salad with chicken. We enjoyed both our meals here, and menu prices were about on par with better quality steakhouses in larger US cities.

We told them we were in a hurry because we had a plane to catch and they managed to delivered excellent service and delicious cuts. I had the 12oz ribeye medium term; it was not bloody, like they serve it in the USA and still, it was very juicy, soft, tasty and tender. It only comes with a side choice (and not very imaginative, smash potatoes), but you can order extras on the side, so we went for the guacamole, sautéed mushrooms and grilled onions. They also offer you hand made tortillas, corn or flour, your choice. My friends had one top sirloin each. We also had a beer each. The grand total was just $77 USD (or $1,401 MX pesos) for a meal comparable to the best steak houses in the USA! So far, the best ribeye I have had; better than Morton's, Pappas or Houston's.

Cocktails were well-made with some creative presentations, they had small carts that allowed them to make some specialty drinks tableside, and the food was delicious. It's worth noting that when we came here they tended to undercook their steaks a bit vs. the temperature ordered. I asked for mine medium and had to return it to have it cooked a bit longer. First of all if you go a saturday or sunday 3-7pm you would most likely find a waiting line of up to an 1hr, the food is that good. There is a salad bar with all types of sides: potatoes, cold pasta salads, rice, breads, even wings, spaghetti, etc I can't remember all of them but its varied, you have a lot of options but be careful not to get full on the sides and vegetables because they're really good but you still have to wait on the main course. The waiters/caters come table to table with their different meat cuts and they serve them on your plate, they're not cold, they meat is on a ESPADA (sword) that comes right out of the flames, sometimes it's sizzling still. You can tell them to bring a special meat that you like as many times you want, and you can stay there at the restaurant as much as your stomach allows you, it's a buffet but instead of you going to serve yourself, the waiters bring the meat to you, my personal favorite CHISTORRA (it's a chorizo like meat with a salty and porky flavor). They have a variety of drinks but the wine options in here are the main thing, make sure to ask for your favorite wine they probably have it. So if you're feeling really hungry for meat i mean A LOT of meat, stop by Espadas and have a bite, or 2...... or 30. The attention is good and they take credit cards and cash USD dollars. While I didn't try the food, my husband did and said that, while everything he had was good, it wasn't truly authentic Mexican and he likened it to Tex-Mex (not a bad thing, just an observation). The staff were friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to take our remaining wine and a set of their glasses to our hotel with us as we'd ordered a bottle here but were unable to finish it before closing time. We appreciated the gesture and were sure to return the glasses to them the following day. The one oddity here was the manager lady: Whenever we passed by she always seemed to be working, often sitting at the bar while doing paperwork and she tended to watch everyone, both patrons and staff alike, like a hawk - which was somewhat off-putting. Barrigas does have a few large TVs, but they always seemed to be showing music videos, concerts and similar content.
