Not to be over critical but the seating is terrible for the prices. The steaks are great but the service is marginal with lots of youth,apparently on their first job. The Texas road house in San Bernardino CA has a lot more pride for holding one in their city. In comparison, this TXRH on gateway (Friday night 7pm) was not up to par. They didn't care about the bread refills, or the drink refills. We were hardly waited on. The manager introduced himself, but quickly ran away, and on our way out, as you look in the kitchen, all the food is sitting there waiting to be delivered, making our food not as fresh as it could be. I think this location needs more food runners, and more servers that want to serve people fresh bread, hot food, and cold drinks. I think they're all just there making a buck and that's all. I was really excited to eat here. I've only been to one once in Temecula California. So today was only me second time eating at a Roadhouse. I was excited because it has to be better somehow in Texas right? Oh boy was I dissatisfied and disappointed. First of the service was perfect from my waitress. Two supervisors stopped by before my food came which I wish they stopped by halfway through my meal. The bread was perfect just as I remember from my visit in CA. I tried a cup of chili which I enjoyed also. I saw my steak and was happy because the cap was the biggest I've ever had. I attacked the cap first as I always do. It was ok. Here comes the bad part. I cut into the main part of the steak, the serrated knife had difficulty. I tried it, super tough. I rotate the steak because sometimes it's just a certain area. Next cut even harder! I couldn't even chew this part! Good thing it was a really small piece so I drank water to swallow it so I wasn't rude by spitting it out. I turned the steak again. Tried one more time and gave up. At this point I just finished my cup of chili and ate a few fries but disappointment already set it. I eat chicken or salads during the week and save a nice steak meal for sunday's. Well that was done in vain because I think this has to be the toughest steak I ever had. I've never left so much food at a restaurant at this cost. In my pictures you'll see I left at least half of my food and I cut all around that steak looking for a decent bite. I waited for quite sometime looking at the supervisors that approached me before my meal to hopefully come by at some point before I left but that didn't happen. I doubt I'll ever visit again. I've had steak from a different place the last 4weeks and this was my worst steak since my arrival to El Paso. read more

Headed to the roadhouse after my girls volleyball games. Surprisingly only waiting about 15 minutes before we were seated and it was busy for a Sunday afternoon. I was looking for steak and the ribeye was what I was eyeing. It was ready in about 15 minutes, looking delicious and smothered in mushrooms. My server asked me to check if it was cooked to my perfection and it was pink in the middle like i asked. The sweet potato was super tender and sweet really good. I had a house along with my meal. We walk in and get seated right away and it was just before 5. Surprisingly our appetizer came out within 5 minutes which I thought was odd, seeing it was boneless wings, also they were like at room temperature. I don't like that you have to ask for plates when you get your appetizer, other places usually bring out extra small ones when you order an appetizer, not here. We order our food and it was the longest wait ever, about 30-35 minutes. Again, the food wasn't hot, the corn & green beans were semi-warm as well as my steak & chicken critters. Maybe the food was just sitting out there? I'm giving this place a long break until they get their act together and have better service and hot food. Zero stars. At the west side I would have never received treatment like this. I kept getting bumped into by staff. Waitress was nice enough but I feel like she was compensating for management. Out steaks were leukwarm and were clearly previously FROZEN. Microwaved potatoes? Give me a break. We definitely will never be visiting the east side location again. The west side location never had treated me like this. We spent $80 above after tips on a porterhouse and a bone in ribeye. Absolutely disgraceful. He was very excited about taking us here, and joined the waitlist from their app. The wait was a little over an hour, which was fine. We arrived within the window we were given, however, the staff was unable to locate my dad's information. Even though the restaurant was packed full of patrons and other people waiting, they were able to accommodate us immediately, which in my eyes was already above and beyond. The bumps along the way that sometimes occur (like orders coming out wrong) were quickly remedied by one of the managers (Christian was his name, I believe) and he truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dinner. It's so refreshing to experience true customer service and satisfaction. The staff here is exceptional and we will definitely visit this location every time we come to visit our family. The ambiance is a darker lighting which makes it more relaxing im not fond of bright lightsThey do have an 11.99 special mon thru thurs from 3pm to 5 pm which i like to order. The steak was delicious, mashed potatoes with white gravy was creamy and tasted like bacon. The salad was also delicious i really like the tiny grape tomatoes. They serve bread rolls which have to be one of the best rolls ive ever tasted.They are soft and buttery tasting. It comes with a cinnamon butter but the bread imo doesnt need anything its perfect by itself. The portions are not large but adequate and the 3 times ive gone i can never finish my food. All restaurants have scaled back on portion size in the years since the pandemic ive noticed. read more

After being stuck on the freeway for 4 hours due to an accident and missing our appointment in El Paso, we were frustrated and very hungry. Pulled into the first restaurant we saw off the freeway and it was the Texas Roadhouse. We have seen them in other states during our traveling days, but never stopped in. Boy, were we glad we did! Our server, Gio, was super! He was very attentive, friendly and made us feel welcomed. We ordered the sirloin steaks, medium rare and had baked potatoes and I had the corn, my husband had the chili. The steaks were cooked perfectly, tender and oh so delicious. The potato was large with lots of butter. Just a bit disappointed in the corn as it tasted like canned corn. I had the appetizer sampler which was meh Mild Buffalo wings were just chicken nuggets that were too spicy to be called mild, the snake bites ( jalapeño poppers) had the cheese melted out before you could pick them up, and the potato skins were bland. my friends had the baby backs that were delicious, moist and they had great sauce. One friend had the herb crusted chicken that was very dry with tasteless vegetables, she wasn't happy. Someone else had the kbobs- they smelled delicious! Another had baked potato( But it was served plain no butter or anything!) salad was acceptable and marinated mushrooms that were too spicy. So you see 1/2 the food was good; 1/2 the food was only ok not great. The atmosphere was fun and busy almost like old times before Covid even though the restaurant follows protocols. Ah man, I never thought that I'd had to drop the rating to 4 stars. So as most of my yelpers know if I find an issue I don't expect a discount. I don't want my meal for free either. All I want is good customer service. I want an apology and an offer to make it right. I'm a regular here at this location. I often don't check in or snap pics because of the signal inside. So today, I'm not sure what was on the cheese. Looked like mold. I asked for a new salad. The manager brought it back and said it was freshly made and that the kitchen manager stated it was probably oil on the grater. Ok, that's all... no apology. Deserts on us? We will comp drinks? Once a manager says those things, I quickly decline and accept their sincere apology. I didn't get that here. The meal was supposed to be smothered. But they forgot to smoother it. You see in the picture that they added mushrooms on the steak. Today was an off day for us. Weird. Not my typical visit. We arrived right before dinner rush and was promptly seated. We ordered an appetizer and that took a few minutes to arrive and we placed our orders. All of our meat were cooked as we requested. The steaks were juicy and tender. Overall the food was very good, our waitress kept checking on us and provided great service. It got very busy a few minutes after we arrived and stayed that way but it didn't affect our overall service. The restaurant was clean, the women's restroom was clean, there was sufficient parking. Our entire party arrived five minutes early some earlier than that. They still made us wait over an hour before we just decided to leave as they couldn't even tell us how much longer the wait would be. Don't bring big parties here it seems. Oh Texas Roadhouse, you. I love you, I love you so hard. This will forever be my favorite Texas Roadhouse because none of the other TR's do me like they do me here. Always friendly, always fast, always good. I've noticed quite a few changes here over the years and I'd say they've all been for the better, but the only thing that hasn't changed is those ridiculously mouthwatering steaks. Holy moley. You need not order anything else...just get a 12 oz. steak at minimum. While waiting for your food you can snack away on dinner rolls with cinnamon butter. Drool... Or pop some peanuts in your chomper. You can still throw shells on the floor, but in the past couple of years I've noticed they pick up the shells a lot quicker. Thumbs up for cleanliness while still allowing a tradition. There is also a full bar here, but I almost always order a Strawberry Cowboy Cooler because it's simply fantastic. I'm a medium to medium-rare kinda girl unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of place that will properly prepare a steak, but this TR never let's me down. Always cooked exactly how I order. Personally I think these steaks are seasoned perfectly and don't need A-1 sauce, but it's available if you must. The only thing I like on top of my steak is grilled onions. Also, you can ask for a side of the steak seasoning which goes great with the steak (obviously) or on top of potatoes. And the sides are just as good. The corn and loaded baked potato are my go-to's. And I must tell you that there are two things that you are bound to always see at this TR. The first is the line dancing (which now includes male employees...does anyone else think that they should be dressed a little more ummmm western?) and the second is someone sitting on the saddle. From the fresh clean tapped beers to the bread that comes with every visit is indescribable. I usually go with the 12 ounce Rib-eye smothered with carmalized onions and a cup of chili. The chili is the best I've ever had, and the steak is always cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes are a pretty nice side as well. The manager and staff are always spot on.
