I think in general staff are friendly in most cafes in Auckland but these were a cut above the rest. We'd would often chat for about ten minutes even though it was in the middle of their busy lunch hour. It was my first few months living in Auckland but this couple made me feel right at home. As regards the food and coffee, I can tell you now they were excellent - which is why I went there every day. Coffee was smooth and rich and I often use to get a smoked salmon bagel - it was really good and unlike a lot of other cafes they were generous with the salmon. Unfortunately, I have never had a chance to go back there but I passed by in the car recently and saw that couple were still there. I wish them well with their cafe.

They also have a made-to-order breakfast and lunch menu. Although I haven't had a chance to try it yet, I have no doubt it would be equally delicious. If you peek in to the kitchen you'll see the team working busily preparing food for the day, but it's also spotless. But back to my love declaration. It's the coffee. I ordered an iced hazelnut oatmilk latte and a fried chicken benedict and they were delicious! The latte was the perfect drink to wake me up for a busy day ahead! They definitely do eggs benedict different but it was still so tasty. Instead of the usual english muffin, they used an herb rostis, which is a crispy hash brown round. The fried chicken was juicy and crispy. The herb rostis was also crispy and paired well with the creamy poached eggs! I miss this meal so much and dreaming of having this again the next time I go back to Auckland!
