There are amazing group deals on their website as well as some more information about the business! Melissa, co-owner, was there the day we went in and she was so so welcoming. We were supplied ponchos and shoe coverings as well as lockers for our things and even hair nets and accessories. They thought of it all! Melissa explained everything to us and made sure we were comfortable before leaving us to our creativity. I absolutely loved the fact that we were always checked on as well as our paint and cleaning waters. Melissa would make encouraging comments I needed because I for one am not creative. First we walk in an hour after opening on a Sunday, place was empty.......we walk right up to the counter and I tell the girl that I had looked the pricing up online and I knew I wanted to do the 3 race, game card, and k1 membership pass for 3 boys. She gave me a blank stare and then said oh you mean 2 race. Ok. Rude. But ok yeah that. She proceeds to ask the boys had they ever been there before. 1 of my sons friends says yes. So she goes you need to go check him on the computer with a waiver first because he has a membership so you won't pay for that part for him. Here I am thinking oh she is being helpful after being wrong. I smile. We go to computers do the waiver for 1 boy as instructed. We go back to the counter now 2 more groups have come in. We have to wait behind 1 group now since there is only one cashier/check in person although there were at least 5 other staff in the building including a manager. Anyway after we wait for that group to check in. I step back to the counter and THEN she proceeds to tell me oh you didn't do the waiver for the other two. I'm like you told me to do it only for the one that had been here before. So again we step out of line and go BACK to the computers. At this time I'm starting to get annoyed. By this time more people are coming in, so now my boys will have to wait behind several big groups when we arrived before ALL of these people. When I finally get back to the counter.....all boys are checked in. She got RUDE again. And wanted to loudly explain pricing to me and make sure I knew that the boys only got a $10 game card for what I was about to pay. Like VERY loud. I didn't hear her do this with any of the other groups that checked in before us and I hate to say this.......none of them were my complexion. Never once was I rude or matching her volume or tone. We actually walked in that place happy because we were supposed to be celebrating. Well anyway it didn't stop there. Once we got checked no instructions were given on what to do next outside of the girl at the counter giving me my receipt and their game cards. So my boys walked over to where you line up to go on the track and yet another employee was RUDE to them by telling them to back away from the gate and wait for someone to call them. They are EXCITED to be here Jeesh, so then after she yells at them they come over to me saying they not going to let her ruin the joy. They finally get called to race and all the boys are overwhelmed after the employees stopped the cars several time or slowed their speed down all during the race. Then in between their first and second race we went to their "arcade" which only has 12 games......which none of them are less than 40 credits for 1 game. $10 gets you 200 in credits. While one of the boys was in the process of playing a game they got called back for their 2nd race. It was EVEN worse than the first one. We decided to opt out of trying their food and went somewhere else to grab lunch. 0 stars would not recommend.

Atlanta Hot Glass is a very, very cool place (no pun intended). It is the first glass blowing…read morecollective I've ever been to and it happens to be in East Decatur not that far from where I live. I first learned about Atlanta Hot Glass through the Emory Alumni Association, as strange as that may sound. I'm an alum of Emory (in case the comment above didn't make it obvious) and when I received the latest newsletter about upcoming events and goings on, an event about an interactive glass blowing night caught my attention. Fast forward two weeks and my boyfriend and I showed up at Atlanta Hot Glass, owned by Emory alum Susan Chin, and were introduced to the fascinating world of glass blowing. Let me tell you, it's harder than it looks, but lucky for all of us (there were about 20 people there in all), the instructors were fantastic. In addition to helping us make our own blown glass ornaments, they showed us some awesome examples of what you can make once you've gotten more skilled at it. We learned how hot the glass has to be to be malleable (it's kept in a 2050 degree furnace), how hot the 'glory holes' are that melt the glass shards and color the glass (2200 degrees), how glass sculptures are molded and shaped and transferred to the oven to cool down, etc. It was incredible and eye-opening and really fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself since everyone was so friendly and willing to answer questions and assist us. Susan's cousin was great because he explained to us what was happening as the instructors were demonstrating making different pieces and when I was making my own blown glass ornament, my instructor (whose name escapes me), talked me through each step and why we did it. Atlanta Hot Glass also offers classes, studio time and opens itself up to the public like it did for Emory that night, which is great. Even if you're not sure that's your thing, you can take a course or a couple individual classes to figure out if it might be. A big kudos to the Emory Alumni Association for organizing this event and to Susan for kindly opening her studio to us. It was a fantastic and unique way to spend a Thursday.

After visiting the website, I called and spoke with Susan. She was extremely helpful and gave me lots of information. I chose the "Hands on Experience" for nine people. The process for payment and scheduling was very smooth and professional. Upon arriving, our team was greeted by the instructors, Lee and Jeremy. We were given safety tips and general information about glass blowing. Then we jumped right in. We had a blast! We each created a glass piece (paperweights and ornaments) and had a true "hands-on experience". I highly suggest this activity to large groups and small! For large groups I suggest keeping the pieces simple to allow time for your entire group to have a chance.

Located just off Mansell and next door to Sam's Club, parking was a breeze and the only issue we had was due to built up traffic from Sam's Club when we were leaving. There was plenty of space for the kiddos to have the time of their life with bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. There's an obstacle course as well but I did not see anyone on it. I liked that there were two huge separate spaces for bowling and the graphics for the kiddos bowling time was festive and they had bumpers and this cute little dinosaur assist that they could use to push the bowling ball down and they loved it. The arcade space was huge and there were a ton of options for all ages. Unfortunately a lot of the games were not working so we ended up playing a lot of the same game multiple times. For those who win enough "tickets" there's a huge "Winner's Circle" room to select the prize(s) of your choice. The kiddos also played laser tag and had a complete blast! There's a huge restaurant space and pizza spot inside but both were closed at the time. The bar area was nice and there were a good people hanging around there watching games. There a big open space for those celebrating birthdays but no private rooms that I could see so while there were several parties happening at the same time, there were moments of chaos between kids from different groups being in the same space and the tables for each groups being in pretty close proximity. The person who was assigned to our group did her best to manage our large party but she was handling everything (food, drinks, taking any additional orders) on her own. Overall a really good experience andddd I really appreciated how clean the space was including the bathrooms!

Extremely disappointing experience. I came to Main Event specifically to redeem points that my…read morefriends and I had spent the entire summer accumulating through playing games and combining our cards. Instead of being able to enjoy what should have been the rewarding part of the experience, I left frustrated, embarrassed, and empty-handed. When I attempted to redeem my points, the manager, Grey, immediately made the process unnecessarily difficult. I was repeatedly questioned about how I accumulated so many points and where they came from. I completely understand verifying a large redemption, but there is a difference between reasonable verification and making a customer feel like they are automatically suspected of doing something wrong. What makes this even more frustrating is that the card history should show the activity. Games were played, cards were combined, and the points didn't simply appear out of nowhere. If there was a specific transaction or policy violation that made my points invalid, I would have appreciated being shown exactly what it was. Instead, I felt like the fact that I had a large number of points was being treated as suspicious by itself. The entire interaction made me feel targeted, profiled, and stereotyped. Two other team members actually tried to help me, and based on what they told me about how situations are normally handled, I felt even more uncomfortable with the way I was personally being treated. What bothers me most is the amount of TIME and MONEY that went into this. My friends and I spent an entire summer going to Main Event, paying to play games, earning points, and saving them with the expectation that those points could eventually be redeemed. I then took additional time out of my day to come specifically for the prize I had finally accumulated enough points to get. After spending my money, spending my time, answering unnecessary questions, and waiting around trying to get the situation resolved, I STILL wasn't properly serviced and left without the prize I came for. How is a customer supposed to feel confident spending money earning points if accumulating a large amount of them can suddenly become a problem when it's time to actually redeem them? I wasn't asking for anything for free. I wasn't asking them to give me points I didn't have. I was simply trying to redeem the balance already on my card. If there is a legitimate policy that prevented my redemption, then Main Event should be able to clearly identify that policy and explain what part of my card history violated it. I have already submitted a complaint about the situation and hope management takes the time to actually review the card history and what happened. An arcade is supposed to be somewhere you go to have fun. Nobody should spend their time and money there only to feel interrogated and singled out when they finally try to redeem what they've earned. This experience completely changed the way I look at this location.
