Don't go to the courthouse. It's the WRONG place. Go around the south side there's a small building on the left that says TRAFFIC DIVISION.
    Victoria L.

They're going to TRY to give you the run around here. Don't let them. Follow my advice & avoid it. This is specific information about Fix-It tickets. You have to make an appointment first. Call 310-787-3699. Look at the picture I posted of the door sign. There's steps you have to follow. If you have any other TICKETS written in the City of Torrance, or need to appear in court - there are specific steps you must do to navigate & resolve your problem - as of June 24, 2021. If you have other business - call the courthouse number below. This post is about how to deal with Fix-It tickets. Call your local police department to verify they'll sign off on it. I'm not sure if Torrance even does it anymore. It didn't seem like they wanted to do much of anything but cause problems, not solve them. So, I had the police department in my city sign off. Some of the stations don't offer this service anymore. The highway patrol office next to the 110 freeway does, but I think they charge a service fee. Check before you go. Some require that you make an appointment in advance. Then, BEFORE YOU GO to Torrance, call the Traffic Division 310-787-3699. YOU MUST GET AN APPOINTMENT BEFORE YOU GO. Do NOT waste your time standing in the long line at the entrance of the big Courthouse at 825 Maple - because they'll turn you away at the door. That's not the right building. Go around the south side of the courthouse and down a little ways to the cluster of small buildings on the left-hand side....to the 2nd small bungalow that says TRAFFIC DIVISION. You must wear a mask. Don't even enter the building - if you didn't call because they won't help you if you didn't make an appointment. I had to leave and call them. Don't let it happen to you. Just beat them at their own game.... MAKE an APPOINTMENT! Yes, indeed. All of this is meant to be really annoying and ridiculous & make us mad. Take my advice and you'll avoid getting run around with this idiocy. The fine for fix-it tickets is now $25. Cash, Check or Money Order. I don't think they take credit cards. The back of my ticket only gives these 3 payment options. I'm assuming they want to make sure that WE pay the fine, not rack up a credit card and then not pay the bill. The easiest way to do this is to just send it in. Make sure to keep a copy of both sides of the ticket because you have to send the original to: Torrance Courthouse, 825 Maple Ave., Torrance, CA 90503 ATTN: TRAFFIC DIVISION. Make sure to write the citation # in the memo area of the check or money order. I'd also send it certified mail, return receipt. Keep in mind, you can't pay the fees early - you must wait until your citation number has been input into the 'system' and that takes about a month from the date the ticket was written. You can verify that at www.lacourt.org before you send it. But, knowing what I know now - I'd just wait a month & mail it in. That's the best option. Don't volunteer for this one if you can avoid it. Just mail it.....or take a chill pill. The water's deep and c~o~l~d, people. If you have other business at the Torrance Courthouse - CALL THEM BEFORE YOU GO - to find out what the procedures are to handle your situation. They have purposely set it up this way to tangle, cause rage & win. But, now you're already more prepared for this battle going into it. Find out what you need to do BEFORE you go. Take notes. The Torrance Courthouse number is 213-742-8860.

Please bring your mask and wear it.

Basically, this is a brief review for just the building itself!…read more This is the Iowa Courthouse Building. This courthouse was built by Dudley Gray. In September 1977, parts from the old Pottawattomie County Courthouse in Council Bluffs, Iowa were moved here and the building was reborn as the "historic" Iowa Courthouse Building. It cost about 2.5 million to move the parts across country. In 1980, he said, "My colleagues thought I was ding-a-ling." His law firm was on the top floor. For more information, visit this link... http://historylosangeles.blogspot.com/2007/12/iowa-courthouse-in-torrance.html Walking into this building was like stepping back in time. You see the aged looking wallpapered entry with a huge chandelier. The elevator doors are a steel blue and above it is a big golden American Eagle decorative piece. The elevators are antique looking on the inside. They are slow and give you pause, wondering if you'll make it to where you're going... but really, I'm sure they are well-maintained!! The floor we went to had a mix of the old and new-ish. When you step out of the elevator, you are in a mini-lobby where you can enter to another nice large room which is or can be used for meetings. There were 2 of these rooms. There are corridors leading to the office suites. This is a unique set-up and very interesting! It is an office building with various types of businesses. This building has offices for Attorneys, Chiropractors, Psychiatrists, Financial Services, Accountants, etc. I had never been in here and am glad I got to see it briefly!

He called at 1:31 p.m. and again at 2:22 p.m., just trying to provide the tracking information as he was told to. We understand that office staff are busy, but that's no excuse for being unprofessional and disrespectful -- especially when people are dealing with important legal matters like family court. We expected a much more courteous and helpful response. Very disappointed. If I could give no stars I would.

JUROR PARKING IS AT 101 Magnolia Ave. But no one tells you that. Not on the paperwork, not on the voice recording. You just have to figure that one out on your own while rushing to do your civil duty. Plus you better remember your license plate for parking. NO ONE TELLS YOU THAT EITHER. YOU'RE WELCOME. Lastly, you have to fill out the back of your jury duty paperwork. If not, they send you right to the back of the line. Time wasted - approximately 15 min. AGAIN YOU'RE WELCOME. OH AND DID I MENTION - someone hit my car too???? FML. JURY DUTY NIGHTMARE.

Restrooms are clean, refrig, microwave available as well as speedy internet Judges are nice enough as are court staff, courtroom cops seem not so pleased to be doing the job though Cons: (antiquated structural issue with jury duty service) Having to drive beyond your living distance because as I was told they draw a straight line on a map and count mileage as a bird flies not what is actually within range of a courthouse. Judges DO NOT excuse for most reasons; no self employed people like us get to use the; i'm Loosing money while being as a reason (been to 2 jury service here several years and judges force you to attend). No consideration is given for your time and money lost while having to go there and deal with waiting for days to go through jury selection to either be forced onto a jury or rejected. *A simple at home phone questionaire or zoom video conference would solve this waste of peoples time for almost 20 people for multiple days but alas government doesn't function like a business must; in considering peoples time important. ProTips: 1. Parking structure (free but complicated to understand) for the jury, is on Pacific between Ocean and Broadway, when you park there, You MUST install the parking structure app on cell: needing phone/email/License plate number and a Credit Card entered even though you will get the parking for free after going into Jury service (they do not take cash in the structure). You'll need to scan the QR codes posted daily and then in the Jury room type your license number which is connected to only that parking structure for free parking; you'll get a notification Text saying the parking is paid. When you leave for the day; I believe camera's Read your license plate and the gate opens up automatically. 2. Bring a seat cousion, the seats in the jury room and in the hallways are wood and uncomfortable for sitting hours at a time 3. Most juries are called either by 9:30 am or after the lunch break which runs from 11:30am - 1:30pm. The entire building empties by 4:30pm 4. There are no TV's to mind numb your time while there to watch so you'll use your phone or bring a laptop/tablet to kill the day while you waste away.

I'd say the major drawback of this location is the parking--it's $1.50/every 15 minutes, so we paid for 1 hour to be safe. A second deterrent would be the security guards; most of them were pretty unhappy/rude, but you really don't spend enough time in security for it to be too much of an issue. Knocked off a star for these location factors, but the RR/CC staff were definitely 5 stars. On to the good part! We whipped through security and headed for the 6th floor where RR/CC is located. We checked in, provided our IDs with the pre-packaged envelope from the previous marriage license appointment, and waited a few minutes for the couple ahead of us to finish (we were early, and they were running on schedule). They called us in by the appointment last name, and we had our little ceremony. The officiant was really kind, and he made it more heartfelt than we were expecting (we were quite awkward though--we don't usually stare at each other in front of people like that, but who really does?). We had a few funny moment of our own accidental creation, and somehow made it back out with our rings on and married! Cheers to a great experience and a whole lifetime of laughs ahead.
