    Playground Equipment & Benches

I've just noticed all of the "typos" in my review. For whatever reason, I cannot edit it. So ... here's a corrected version: Torrey Meadows Neighborhood Park is fairly new (about 5 years old) and located on Torrey Meadows Drive just behind Westview High School. I've driven by it many times and finally decided to check it out. The park has two playground structures, covered picnic areas, a basketball court, and public restroom. There's also open space for kids to run around. It looks like quite a nice place.

Definitely worth the price of admission. This park has plenty of parking. It's well maintained and it feels super safe. Took my son here to tire him out. With tons of open space and grass as well as activity stations, it's ideal for families with little ones. There are many picnic tables as well as gazebos. I'll be back again for sure it's not too far from home.

My husband and I are fan faves of this park. Torrey Meadows Park has a large grassy area, 2 shaded pavillions, a sand pit, and a separate play place for both the bigger kiddos and toddlers. Lastly, it's so CLEAN and there is plenty of parking. In addition to what I mentioned above, there is a basketball court, benches scattered around the area and a side walk that goes around the park for those of you who want to get your miles in. It's just a nice area for everyone. Will continue to come here with my son.

Awesome park! This place is super clean, super new and still very empty. This park has all new equipment, a walking track around it, tons of picnic tables (20?), New restrooms and lots of shade in the 2 gazebos. Very convenient since we live so close. I don't want to post this because now more people will know about it.

Great park! If you want to use a gazebo though, book it way ahead of time because they book fast. You'll have to talk to the SD Rec Center to get the reservation together though. They're super nice and answered all of my questions so patiently. Plus side: this location was great for a large party because they ALLOW ALCOHOL. My mind was blown. As long as it's not in a glass container alcohol is totally cool here. One of only 2 parks in San Diego where it's allowed apparently

Such a fun park! My two boys love it. It has activities for all ages and a lot of shade. The sand pit is the stand out feature for sure!

Ask the Community - Torrey Meadows Park

Do the gazebos have a power outlet?

I have not seen any, and I checked again last weekend.

Is parking free & is there plenty of it?

Parking is free. The car park seems sufficient, but I wouldn't say it's plentiful.

It's super accessible with ample parking, and I love that there are multiple entry points and routes you can take depending on how long of a walk you're in the mood for. This park truly has something for everyone. There's a splash pad, basketball courts, a great playground for kids, and even a giant chess game, which is such a fun and unique touch. It's also an amazing place to walk your dog--I bring mine here all the time, and he absolutely loves all the open grass and the variety of paths we can explore. One of my favorite features is the set of stairs that lead up toward the residential areas and the dog park. If you take them all the way up, you're rewarded with really pretty views at the top, which makes the little climb totally worth it. Overall, Civita Park is clean, well-designed, and perfect whether you're looking to be active or just enjoy a relaxing afternoon outdoors. Definitely a Mission Valley gem!

Lately, with temperatures 10 to 19° above "normal average" - or maybe it's just the new normal - it's hard to recall the last time we got to experience a cool day. But here, the way the gazebos, tables, and benches are set up reflects a pretty severe case of denial that this is Southern California, and not quite within walking distance from the beach. It WILL get hot whenever it damn pleases, with or without notice. It did so in February already, in case you missed it. We came a few times for the farmers market. Both days were unfortunately " 80°F" her weather report, which in reality feels like 92°F, and we had to scramble to find a little bit of shade, so that we could eat our street food without passing out from heat stroke. We huddled awkwardly on the curb under a small tree. Other people passing by with food in their hands looked at us with envy. NOT A SINGLE PERSON sat on the readily available benches with tables, because they were in the blazing sun, yet lacked any shade. Never mind an umbrella, not even holes to put one in!! Denial much?? It's really sad, because it's a beautiful place. It just DESPERATELY needs more shade for the visitors to feel comfortable without clinging to trees or the bathroom walls.

There are four big pine trees with separate retaining walls around three of them for owners to sit down. With it being so close to the bay, there's often a nice breeze that goes through the park. There's no divide between small dogs and big dogs, so it's best to just keep an eye on your dog, and many owners around here are usually respectful. The street parking immediately adjacent to the park is free, however, it has a limit of 30 minutes, and the parking meter workers are strict on it if they're around. I bring my dog here around lunch time because those who live/ work in the area tend to bring their dogs during their break time and my dog gets his socialization time. They close 8am-11am MWF for maintenance/ cleaning. Currently, both gates are broken so it's not as secure as it should be, and who knows when the city will actually fix it. There're a few agility structures and a water dispenser. The children's park itself looks pretty cool for kids with a lot of structures with slides and swings. There's also another separate area with fixed exercise equipment that looks well- maintained. The water feature in the park is a water feature, not a pool.
