Went to pick up my order at 8:15pm and found the store closed, but lights were all on as if they were open. I checked the hours on their app and website before heading out and it said they were closed at 9pm on Friday. On the store window it has different hours listed and says they close at 8pm on Friday. Which time is your closing time when the store window says something different than their website, app, and listed google hours. Frustrating that the store doesn't follow their listed hours. They need to update their hours if they have changed on all social media. read more

Customer service . I had a sweater that was damaged and was told by the girl I couldn't return it or even get store credit. What?? This was a damaged item. I had 2 pairs of leggings that I recently bought and was told I couldn't return them either, What! Clearly this girl didn't know her job. Took it to my regular location in San Marcos, surprise no issues and I even ended up buying more items. San Marcos needs to seriously train their new location in Austin, I've been there twice and both times didn't have good service. San Marcos will get ALL my sales. I love torrid because the clothes are cute, designed for all shapes, and usually have good sales and great shoes! This location is bigger than the round rock outlets location, however the hours often change without online reflection, the staff customer service is hit or miss and of course the prices are high but if you're shopping here you know that already and know why. My favorite part of the store is the dressing room; it is so spacious has a fan, large bench and plenty of places to hang the clothes you are trying on. I'd call to check store hours and try to be understanding of busy staff of usually only two. I did witness a heated misunderstanding between a staff member and customer, it was off putting even as a bystander but nevertheless I like this place. A lot of plus size sections of stores cater to pear shaped girls but If you're an apple, heart, square shape this is the place for you! read more

I went to pick up my order, when I got there I told them that I came to try and pick up my order. But before I do it that ...can I use your bathroom? They say No, they do not have it, but in the sport store there are restrooms. So...I tried my order clothes I really want to see what else I could buy but.. I just go with one thing of my order because I have to go to the restroom. We just happened to be walking by and saw a sign in the window 50% off. It has probably been 10 years since I have been in a torrid or purchased anything and I'm really glad I decided to stop in. They are having random customer appreciation day this could last longer the girls didn't know and everything including clearance was in fact 50% off. I was a little bit nervous because I wasn't sure of what sizes I wore and every staff member was so helpful gave me their honest opinions helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't even believe I had been in there 2 hours once we were all finished. If you have never been or it's been a minute I highly recommend giving torrid a shot!! So I want to start by saying my one star is for the location, not the torrid company. I've shopped at other stores and I've shopped online. I've never had any issues other than shipping and those customer service department is fantastic. That being said I attempted to exchange things today. I made a few large purchases over the past week to prepare for an interview. I've seen the store manager (Nicole) before. When I went in there last week shopping the line was backed up with 4 people and she was giving the first day orientation to a new employee rather than take the opportunity to help her other employee with the line. She had to come over and help and seemed annoyed and unimpressed with life. No smiles what so ever. I brushed it off because, hey it's holiday. Everyone's busy. Fast forward to today. I go to exchange some things. Not return, exchange. She tells me my item is final sale, and I tell her it didn't say that when I purchased it. After arguing with me I ask her what am I supposed to do with a jacket that doesn't fit? Her response? I could take it to buffalo exchange or there was a trash can outside. (No. I'm not exaggerating in the least) I put my hand on the bag and ask her again if there was anything she could do and as I did the the bag tumbled to the floor. (2 feet or more to her left) and then she proceeds to tell me I'm being aggressive and I need to leave the premises before she calls security. I say "you're not serious?" And she picks up the phone and yells that she is calling security and I needed to leave the store right now. I put my bag in my car and decide to go in to apologize, but I was greeted with a security threat again. I then ask for her name, get it, and on my way out she informs me she has already called the entire district and I was not to go another location and if I return she will call security. (If you're counting that's the 3rd time security has been threatened on me) I never yelled at her, I never cussed at her, I never called her names... I simply can't get over the fact I was just treated that way!! That all being said, I called their corporate number. Their customer service is amazing. They listened to me, and even offered to exchange the jacket. I asked them to look into if it was really a final sale when I purchased it, because if I missed that detail then that's my fault and I'll figure out what to do with the jacket. So at the end of the day, it's this location I'm not a fan of. Her attitude wasn't great even the last few times I'm was there and now I'm a security threat... I've never thrown anything at anyone in my life! (I can't account for my toddler years tho but at least my adult life! Lol) If you ever have an issue just call the number on the website. After talking with them I can see they really do value their customers even if the store front doesn't. read more

Be careful if you are tan and get ready for rude service because one of the ladies that works here is racist. First, I had my hands full with stuff I wanted to try on, so I get in line... the sales associate is just standing there. Another person gets in line behind me and the sales associate offers to take their stuff and hang it on a rack so the customer can continue to shop and look around. So I ask if I can hang my stuff as well and she said sure. When I was in the dressing room she knocks and says, "are you done in there?" then goes to everyone else's door and says, "is everything okay in there?" Another time I went to return something and she said, "How can I help you?" so I told her then she asked another coworkers, "can you help her, I have to go." maybe it is not racism but it makes me very uncomfortable and I don't see any other reasoning for her to treat me this way. She also looks at me with a really nasty face. I think her name is Jennifer or Meghan but I don't really remember so I can't even tell corporate. read more

Most of the time I buy activewear because I'm a runner. Believe me, if I had it my way, I would go to work in running gear. Unfortunately that is not the case and for some strange reason I have been trying to up my fashion game and trying to look somewhat decent. I'm cool with any store that has plus size fashion and I do mean a good inventory of plus size fashion. Not claiming a plus size section and selling a bunch of mumus and curtains. I wish Torrid existed when I went to high school because I ended up wearing guy's clothing. It's a great place to look fashionable. The only downside to Torrid is it is somewhat pricey. It is easy to break the bank because they do have nice clothes for plus size people. Torrid is located near Dick's Sporting Goods in the Domain. Definitely worth checking out if you are plus size. The only downside - if you are size 7 shoes, they run out of those quickly. read more

Not enough seating to wait while someone shops. Lots of space for seating but only one two-person bench for the whole store. Staff gets on to you if you sit anywhere but that bench and informed me to 'feel free to sit on the benches outside'. Not very accommodating or welcoming for a store we spend 1000s of dollars in - this is why amazon is winning! read more

I was highly impressed. First of all, I felt like a princess in the fitting room. Each have a fan (with wall control to turn it up or down), great lighting, and even a large bench (snag the handicap one if you can, it was amazingly roomy). They were even decorated super cute. It was so upscale, I loved it. Consultants were so nice and readily available. The BEST part were the shoes. Amazing selection, lots of normal sizes (like 8-10), and literally everything fit. I am not technically a "wide" foot but I struggle to fit into a lot of brands. Torrid completely changed that, everything fit like it was made for me. In addition, even their flat sandals were comfy with a little cushion. None of those hard-as-rock soles I keep finding. Everything from heels, to wedges, and flats were comfortable and well made, unlike the shoes at places like Target, Forever 21, and Charlotte, which feel cheap and hurt your feet in seconds. Pricing was not exactly in my budget but they had sales which helped quite a bit! Clearance was buy one get one free. Shirts were marked at around $30 and dresses around $50. So at bogo, that's a great deal. The whole store was buy one get one 50% off, and that counted for my swimwear which was already on sale for 40% off. Shoes weren't on sale in store but are BOGO 50% online. Lastly, their consultants were constantly straightening up the sale areas. You know how at Old Navy, Forever 21, the sale racks look like garbage until they have to fix it at closing time? The Torrid team really did their best to keep it maintained, which was much appreciated. I will definitely be back. I can't wait to see their fall collection :) read more

To be honest I have never been a huge fan of Torrid. I feel like some of their stuff is a little too trendy for me at times, but a couple of times I have picked up a shirt from here. The prices are good when you catch things on sale. Always head to the back sale rack - that's where it is at. This location is in the domain and pretty nice. The staff was friendly. If you use Torrid to shop online and need to ship something back for an exchange, note that you might not get your credit or a response back when you send an email showing proof you sent the item back. The only answer back is that returns are processed in 2 to 4 weeks....antiquated technology. And they take money out of the price of the product you purchase to pay for your return. I used to shop at Torrid all the time and now I don't go in as often. When I found out there was a Torrid opening up in the Domain I was quite excited. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed. Upon entering the store I was able to roam the whole place before any associate greeted me. They did offer to start a room for me though, however, no one came to check on me to see if I needed anything. I got all dressed to go find a top in a different size as well as a dress. One of the girls there asked if I was looking for something and I asked where this top was (since I had forgot where I had found it) and she said up front. The girl wasn't doing anything, and wouldn't have taken much time to offer to grab it for me. I picked out a couple items and it came to ring them up and how embarrassing my card was declined! Embarrassing but a little annoying because there is more than enough money to cover this purchase. I asked her to swipe it again and another girl interjected and said that they aren't allowed to. Shooting down a customer over something like that seems silly. Sometimes cards are honestly not swiped properly and they wont run. I left with no products in hand, drove to a gas station with an ATM and got more than enough to cover that purchase. Anyway, I ended up going back and brought the boyfriend with me. I went to go get the dress I wanted and they were moved. I stood near the register waiting and both associates didn't even look up to see what the customer wanted. Finally I got a chance to ask and got an answer later on. Associates are not that helpful or friendly. They keep to themselves. The store itself is nice. I like the variety of styled clothes. Love love love. Finally the bigger women among us have a fashionable place to shop. I no longer have to wear my grandmother's mumus. It's about time stores got hip to the fact that there are larger people out there and we shouldn't have to be shamed and relegated to only being able to wear mumus and sweat pants. We too like to look stylish, hip and dare I say, sexy? Gasp! Yes, Torrid stands up and says, "We shall not be shamed!" And "We don't need to dress like my Aunt Ethyl!" I hated shopping at the Lakeline location. It's too far from where I live and it's in a god forsaken mall. It's also very small. This store is at least twice the size of the Lakeline store and has a better selection. I'm a little surprised by the bad reviews. One star because you couldn't find the store while driving around (an outside mall I should add, it's not on the street) and another one star review because they wouldn't give them hangers? Really? I have never had an issue with this store but then I'm not the kind of person who likes a salesperson hovering over them or who feels like I should get some special treatment. I like to be greeted and left in peace. Salespeople have always been super friendly and helpful here when I needed them. I've also interacted many times with the manager, she's often at the register and she's been amazingly helpful, making sure I get the best deal possible with the intricate coupons and sales. read more

I'm sad to see such poor reviews. I've been to this location twice. The first occasion was just after it opened. The store was well stocked, clean, and the employees were attentive and helpful. I left with items I had been eyeing online for a while. I also visited this store today. For tax weekend, I decided to avoid the stores and ship online. To my delight, torrid now does free shipping to the store. Save on shipping and tax? Count me in! Yesterday I got a notice that my order was ready and I headed out there early. The domain was still quiet, relatively speaking for the area. I was greeted and helped immediately. I decided to try on my order in store (to avoid a second trip). When I asked some questions about the jeans, the employee was knowledgeable about the selection in store and online. Oh and their jeans are fantastic! My only gripe was that the employee didn't check in on me in the dressing room. I'm used to that from my experience at other torrid stores. All in all, this is a nice little store. Got into my car and circled the domain for 30 mins looking for signs or anything of the store. Found none. Eventually called Lakeline location to get the number for the Domain store. This Torrid store is larger than the Lakeline mall version and easier to get to for southies like me. The selection is fine, though I still prefer to shop online. Torrid covers a wide range of sizes and lengths, so it's unlikely to all be in one store. However, that's also the draw. I can order online and return to the store if it doesn't work out. The service is great to indifferent; I've never had a bad experience, and mostly it's been good. Parking is easy, nearby, and covered. read more

I'm beyond furious with some of the staff here there the WORST! Came into the store to return a few pieces I had ordered online at another Torrid location and some stuff I got in store all new with tags & receipts to them the lady assisting me at the register was great and then here comes ugly store manager. One of my items I went to exchange wasn't pulling up because it so happened the other store didn't give me the right receipt back and Ms. Manager tells me there's no way to pull up my purchases on there end with my account... fine whatever she's like go back to the store you got it from and they can "POSSIBLY" return it. The cashier who was helping me said there no way we can look it up so we can save her a trip? The manager said "no she can go back to the store" mind you I was super nice, patient and understanding the entire time. Until Ms. Manager wanted to be rude so I slapped her back with attitude as well. Like if you don't like your job please do everyone a favor go be miserable somewhere else. And when I just grabbed all my stuff to leave the cashier threw my bag in the trash and she was going to give me a new one. Manager didn't like that one bit and she took my bag from the trash and gave it back to me! Like who in there right mind thinks that's ok. I definitely won't be back here ever again! My wife and I walked in for the sale advertised out front, take an additional half off clearance prices. After an hours search we found a dress that we both liked on her. At noon, as we approached the register, they changed the sale and refused to honor what we'd walked in under the premise to shop for. Bait and switch plain and simple. Buy things from here all the time. Never buy sale items and always exchange things from online. Never an issue. I find the girls to be pleasant. I mean I don't think they are paid for their personal bent on life or to be your personal shopping entertainment. A lot times shoppers don't understand what working retail is really like. They do work the register and are nice enough for me so sales associates they are. Better than plenty. Great clothes.
