Yvonne is the most charming hostess; knowledgeable, takes great pride in all her products and very warm and inviting. She offers tastings of her fine olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars as well as the multitude of Conti confections. Not to mention the abundant compliment of wine to accompany any of those tastings. All this is offered in her one of a kind tasting room under the shop, in a stunningly decorated centuries old stone and tile space able to fit 20 or so people . A quick tour of the shop upstairs is a sight for sore eyes. From the colorful hand made serving and dining plates, to the wonderful selection of condiments, pastas and toppings, it is truly one my favourite, favourite places in Virenze!! In Niwa's case they've done a very good job of serving genuine food that correctly represents both Thai and Japanese cuisine. My friends and I ordered a series of dishes in order to sample all that the restaurant had to offer (ranging from pad thai to seared salmon) and discovered that not only were the dishes flavorful but also very filling. Definitely plan on popping in again. On a side note, the restaurant seems to fill up once it hits 9:00PM (or in Italian format 21:00) so make sure to come a little earlier if you don't want to wait.

The store is actually just across the street from the original location on map. Yelp has the address of the old location. But can't miss it, still there but on opposite side of street. And instead of Borgovino it's now Borgo. We found what we were looking for and the real traditional balsamic that has to come in the circular round bottles or it's not the real stuff. Price was very good from comparing it to another restaurant that sold balsamic near the cathedral and also a shop in Mercato Centrale.
