Went here last Thursday for trivia night. We got apps and some beers. The downstairs was packed so they put us upstairs which we had totally to ourselves including the bathroom. BUT the waitress, if I remember correctly was Kate, was very attentive to us and made sure our drinks were full and empty plates were removed. I'd definitely do another trivia night there! read more

Ok, first thing to know is that there are 3 different Tosco's establishments in the Pennsburg area: the Pub, the Pizzeria and the Deli. I ate at the Pub on a Saturday afternoon. It is an inviting, bright space with a bar and restaurant seating. This is a friendly local pub, and I'm here for it. I sat at the bar and had the club sandwich and a brew. Someday I will identify the definitive turkey club sandwich, but until that day, I would say that Tosco's version ticks all the right boxes. Real turkey, 3 decker sandwich on toasted wheat, with bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo; what's not to like? Oh yeah, the fries were solid, too. One of the best places in town. The staff is wonderful, the food is tasty and it's a nice place to go. Tonight we had the quesadilla, an impossible burger, mozzarella moons and Buffalo fries. All were delicious. Look at these huge portions!! I also want to say, during hurricane ida, we planned to get some takeout from here and before we could go pick up, our driveway flooded and was getting higher, fast. I had to call them an cancel the order but it sounded like the food was being cooked. I said sorry and we hung up. Two minutes later someone from the restaurant called and asked if we wanted it delivered. We told him that our driveway was getting flooded so fast we didn't want them to come and get stuck. I thought they were going to ask us to pay for the food but the next words out of his mouth were "are you guys OK do you need anything?" Wow. That's totally above and beyond. I had to increase my 2018 rating of 4 stars to 5 stars! My wife and I stopped in for dinner last night. I commonly order fish and chips---which is always excellent---but last night I ordered a cheese burger with blue cheese crumbles and bacon--done rare! That comes with FF--which I asked to be well done. I always order burgers rare---but understand that isn't going to happen---I'm normally lucky to get medium. Last night was a wonderful change of pace----I got RARE----with a cool center :) My wife ordered her burger Med Rare---and got Med Rare. The FF were great as always. This is one of my "go to" places. Live their Hawaiian pizza. Their shrimp scampi is fabulous. My mom orders it every time she visits me from NY. The chicken parm platter is enough for two people. We return to Toscos Pub repeatedly for two reasons- the burgers are delicious and we have never had poor service. Last night was no exception. We ordered dinner through DoorDash and after 30 minutes the driver texted to say he was refusing to go get the food because it was too far away from his house. I called Tosco's and they said the food had already been prepared so I drove down myself to pick it up. When I got there they were super nice and apologetic about me having to drive there - which was really no big deal - and they also me great advice on how to deal with DoorDash regarding the issue. Talk about awesome customer service! As usual the food we got was great - the bacon Cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and the wings were delicious. I'm a regular here. Ribs, burgers, onion soup, popcorn shrimp are all great. My wife loves the sandwiches and wraps. Relaxing atmosphere, and the restaurant is far enough away from the bar to allow conversations. (The bar can be loud during sporting events, and some of the patrons seem to think that the people on the TV can hear them if they shout enough - but that seems to be common everywhere.) Service is beyond excellent. The owner, Johnny, takes customer satisfaction personally, and will get to know you if you're a repeat customer. read more

This review is long overdue. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here and were very pleased overall with the space, service, and food. We had a decent number of people and the new space upstairs easily accommodated everyone with some room for the kids to run around. It looked great too. I worked with the owner, Johnny, who helped a lot with our food choices and making the arrangements. We ordered more than we thought we would need which was great because everyone loved it so much that there weren't as many leftovers as I thought there would be - but plenty for us to come back to after our honeymoon. Really the only negatives were that our hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed. Not her fault because there were so many people coming at her with requests. I felt like she could have used some more help. Also the food came out of order. We had ceasar salad but it didn't come out until everyone was almost finished with their entrees - kind of weird. Also the air was off upstairs when we got there so it was pretty hot and he had to change the thermostat ourselves. Honestly all of there were pretty minor to is given the crowd and circumstances. The Toscos family seems to work extremely hard at providing great food and service to our small community and it always seems to shine through no matter which of their places you go to. Tosco's Pub is, by far, the best pub in town. They opened right around the same time we moved here, and we've been regulars ever since. The (consistent) staff is friendly and the service is fast even during busy times. They recently expanded their menu which gives even more great options to pick from. The food is great and their ever rotating selection of specialty beers are worth a visit alone. Honestly, this is a pub and it is fit for purpose. The beer menu was great and the menu had the usual bar fare - burgers, chili, fish and chips, sandwiches and lots of wings. I was surprised not to see pizza on the menu. Prices were reasonable. I chose the burger which took a while to reach my table - the waitress had already volunteered an apology. When the food did arrive, it was very very hot - burn the roof of your mouth hot - and somewhat tasty - perhaps I had singed my tastebuds. Two tables near me had lots of chicken wings - they looked messy and good. I would go back to Tosco's for a beer and bar food. If your expectations are aligned, you will like this place - if you want fine dining, you are in the wrong place. read more

Good food but service is not good. I met up with my sister who I haven't seen in a year, so we talked for a while. We notice a big group of people come in and stare at our table. The waitress kept eyeing us down and eventually asked us to leave. I've never been to a restaurant that kicked you out for a "large reservation" at nine o'clock with four open tables around. I work in the food industry, so I know it can be annoying when people stay for a long time, but there were plenty of open tables. The food is decent but they ruin the taste with their generic condiments. The Heinz ketchup bottles are filled with generic ketchup. The consistency is runny and the taste is acidic. If you're going to use generic ketchup don't try to deceive people and put it out like its Heinz. This is the second occasion this has happened. The first time, I knew right away when I tasted it, it wasn't Heinz. I said something and the owner said his vendor shipped him the wrong ketchup so he just used it. Apparently using generic ketchup is their regular routine since that was months ago and last night I had the generic in my Heinz bottle. I guess the owner thinks it doesn't matter or nobody will notice. Most people notice but don't say anything. It ruins the taste of the food it goes on. If they're trying to fool people with generic ketchup, what does that say for their food practices that nobody can see in the kitchen? It makes you think what else are they skimping on? And is it really sanitary to refill the bottles over and over. The labels clearly looked like they have been wiped down a million times. Seems like it would be full of germs and bacteria. I don't buy cheap generic condiments at home. I certainly don't expect them when I go out. Also, just be aware they don't have provolone cheese. They use sharp provolone. I ordered the special one time. It was listed on the board as having provolone. When it I got it, it was sharp provolone. Big difference. I couldn't eat it and ordered something else and they didn't take it off the bill. read more

I would probably give this place 3.5 stars, but yelp doesn't allow me. Tosco's is the only bar in the area worth even considering going to. The staff is awesome and very friendly. The food however, is meh. Some of it is good, some of it is horrible. Just your typical no-thrills basic stuff. The pricing here is not bad. I was visiting customers and was staying in the area. What a great place! Almost "Cheers" like. Sat at the bar and was surrounded by friendly people. This place has a very hometown feel and would be a nightly spot if it was local to me. I ordered the hot wings which were very good! Extra crispy!
