Had my ac unit installed by another company 5 yrs ago .... that company went out of business... my thermostat went bad ...had someone else change my thermostat and wired things wrong ... called Total 1 AC heating since my ac wasn't working ... they came the same day and was 100%honest .... didn't try to sell me something I didn't need ... since they only needed to be rewire ..... amazing customer service and amazing honesty and respect with their clients..... definitely would recommend them to others. Dan was recommended to me by my neighbor at the condo unit I own in Pomona. I set up an appointment with Lynn, the office manager. Since I live out of town and had limited time to spend on the day of the appointment, Lynn narrowed down the appointment window to within an hour. Dan showed up in time. Initially, he diagnosed that the motor on the condenser unit was bad. He gave me a quote and while working on the unit, he also discovered that the fan blade was frozen on to the motor shaft because of heavy corrosion. He ordered a new fan and told me that he won't charge any additional amount to what he initially quoted me with. Unfortunately for me, when Dan came back and installed the motor and the fan blade, he discovered that the compressor on the condenser was bad. I have not operated the AC in the three years that I've owned my condo. Dan did not charge me for the work he did because my ac problem was not fixed. This alone was impressive. Additionally, he did not try to sell me a new unit but instead, gave me an option of replacing just the condenser. He explained to me the advantages and disadvantages of replacing just the condenser or the whole unit. I would say that Dan is very honest and Lynn, his office manager is very nice and accommodating. I may not have ended up doing business with TOTAL1 but with the way they treated me, I would say that they have provided me the best customer service compared to anyone. DANNNNNN IS THE MAN!!!! so fast and reliable. I found him on yelp and called him and he picked up even though it's 7pm. I was lucky since he was in the area working on another house and said he would drop by after he was done. THANK GOODNESS. I was so desperate for ac that I waited outside when he called me and told me he was only a mile away. After my initial call, he arrived at my house at 7:30. My ac was working but not blowing cold air. He fixed it in a snapped! literally 15 minutes later. He was so friendly and I ask a lot of questions cause I was curious and like knowing what happened. I've used this company twice now and will continue to use them because they seem honest. We used to use another company and they were constantly finding problems with our air conditioner that cost $400 every time they came out. They talked my elderly grandfather out of his hard earned money when nothing seemed wrong with the unit. Total 1 AC has come out twice now and said our unit is running fine and they are the only ones I have ever seen wash our unit with a hose. They gave us tips on maintaining it along with advice about how some companies tactics used to get more money out of you for non existing problems. I think that all the 5 Star reviews say it all. I've always been on guard with repair men since the day I called a plumber who wanted to charge $450 for a job that cost me $25 to fix, thanks to YouTube. Dan actually gave me instructions on how to fix my AC over the phone prior to our scheduled appointment and wouldn't accept my offer to pay for his help. It kept me and my family cool for the night however had to call him back because as it turned out, there was something more serious going on. It turned out that my circuit breakers needed replacing. He diagnosed the problem and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to repair. I've recommended him to everyone of my employees. They charged me $70 for the call, diagnosed the problem and recommended a replacement unit. A second guy also did the same but he also tried to sell me a unit. Of course our AC had to fail us last week when it was in the high 90's. I called another company and they were not taking new customers but left me the number to this amazing company. I'm so glad they did. I knew the chance of getting someone out immediately was not gonna happen because I called several other companies and they couldn't even give me an appointment. I called and spoke with this sweet woman named Lynn. She scheduled my service for one week and she gave me the choice of the times slots she had available. I chose 4-6pm. One week later, Dan shows up on time and in my requested time slot, He thoroughly explained everything he was checking. I've never felt so at ease having a "service man" here at the house when my husband isn't home... What a great guy Dan is! No more than an hour later my AC is working better than it ever has. He made sure everything was working, that the house was staying cool, and even gave me tips on how to make the AC work better. Don't be fooled by companies that only charge a "small fee" to come out and diagnose... You get what you pay for. I had such a great experience with Total 1 AC & Heating. I called them in the morning and they were out that afternoon. Alex showed up and he was amazing. Our A/C unit was not turning on and he troubleshooted and made a repair. The unit was working and I was ecstatic, but Alex was not satisfied about how it was sounding. To me it was fine and the air was cold again. Alex continued to troubleshoot and found the real issue. He fixed that and I could then tell the difference in the sound he was hearing. With that said, he could have easily left the first time and know that he would be back for an extra charge to fix the other issue, but he did not and fixed everything then and there. Amazing, Alex was here, did an evaluation and gave me options. I have an older model AC system and keeping it running was my choice. He is meticulous in his workmanship and answers questions thoroughly and let me know the possible problems by doing so. Lynn who answered my call was excellent, even stating that they were booked for that weekend and maybe If I wanted immediate service I could try elsewhere "kinda like a miracle on 34th street" I am glad I waited!! I was referred to Dan by a coworker, and I was hoping all was well with our AC. Turns out the issue was far less than what we were originally quoted. My heater was having issues for a while, I believe a wiring issue. We would go out to the box and just tap on a wire and it would start up, but then the heat stopped working and it was only blowing out cool air so I called Total 1. Dan came out the same day and worked on it for a good hour before determining it was an issue with the circuit board. He had his wife bring the circuit board down to my house and replaced it. We thought it was fixed, but 30 minutes after Dan left, it started blowing cool air again. I called him and told him he could just come back tomorrow since it was already 5:30, he insisted on coming back to fix it. Dan came back, messed around with the heater and waited another 30 to make sure it stayed on. This morning I got a call from Dan saying that he thinks he may have misdiagnosed it and he would not be charging me for anything and that I would still get a 1 year warranty. I told him to at least charge me for coming out, but he insisted that they are an honest company and did not charge for service calls. It's nice to know that there are still honest people around. I will be recommending Dan and his company to everyone! read more

Dan is the best. I had a breakdown on my unit and they came within 2 hours on a Saturday to fix it. Reasonable prices great service.

I had to have my blower replaced at the end of the summer. Total 1 fit me into their busy schedule during this heat spell the next day. Dan showed up saw my unit and said, "start saving!" Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but he was right. My unit is approaching 40 years old and has been doing the best to its ability. He fixed the blower in a few minutes, and my AC was back to work. Well, a little earlier than planned, I now need a new unit due to an electrical outlet malfunction that fried the unit. Fortunately, insurance company is replacing the unit for me. Unfortunately, they want to use their contractor. I called Dan to give me a quote hoping they would work with him instead. He even credited me for the money spent three months ago in the quote. Dan is a straight shooter not looking to get over on you and offered flexibility in all the work related to the job (platform, drywall, etc.) Lynn will answer the phone when you call and you will be treated professionally and with a family friendly tone. I'm sad to say I can't use Total 1 for this job, but I will recommend them to anyone that asks. read more
