Wow! Where do I begin. Dealing with Dan, Baez, Derrick, and Alex was the best experience this family has had when dealing with a big ticket item an the things we needed for our home. This family has been suffering for years without clean A/C. And finally with the stifling heat of this summer we knew we had to do something. During my wife's morning stroll she saw one of their work vans an decided to call. We where pleasantly greeted by the owner Dan who informed us of everything that needed to done. We had several other companies place a bid on our project and no one could match the price or installation. Everyone else was 10000 - 12000 more than what Total A1 charged and they did not include the whole house or new ducting or vents. This was a definite win for this family. I would definitely recommend this company it's the 2nd time I've called them and they come out quick. My dog chewed up the wires on our AC thermostat and dan sent us a couple crew members that quickly re-wired the thermostat with new wires and fed it through a metal tube that makes it harder for my dogs teeth to get too : ) good price fast service. read more

Our AC unit went out Thursday night so Friday morning, I checked out the companies on Yelp and came across Total 1 AC & Heating. I called and was told that someone would be at my home between 1pm-3pm that same day. Dan came over around 1:15pm and check out the unit. He knew exactly what the issue was. WOW WOW WOW! I have never worked with such an honest company! After a Southern California Edison power outage my AC turned on and would not turn back off. Even though my thermostat was set to off, it just kept running for hours. I finally just unplugged it. I called several companies and only Total 1 showed up on a Saturday. Dan was extremely honest and informative. Due to the power outage and the age of my system the circuit board was blown. Dan replaced the parts and the AC was back working perfectly! I am glad I called this great company. Dan and Bez (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly) are true professionals. My AC unit wasn't cooling the house down like usual on Saturday and I thought it needed to be recharged. I called and made an appointment because of the reviews on yelp. Dan and Bez are honest, professional and take the time to teach you how the AC works. Who knew that big box outside doesn't actually cool the air going into the house? Lol. They took the time going over the issues my AC has and they told me I didn't need to recharge the system. I complained about the previous owner's routing of AC to the garage (long story). Well, without me asking they capped the ducting going to the garage because it "bugged" them too. This took a few minutes and it's something you would expect to pay for, but they did it for free! This improved my airflow by like 20%! I didn't think the house could feel this cool! There are so much more things that they told me, but I'm going to bed. The tech Alex was here on time on a weekend, was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions took time to show me everything about the A/C as he was diagnosing the system. Completely honest about the condition of my A/C system and that I can just do a refill of R22 for now. Very fair pricing and didn't try to provide me any services I didn't need. What a terrific company! If we could give them ten stars, we would. We had a complete air conditioning/heating system installed, new ducts/registers, and improvements recommended by Dan. Dan suggested that we install a whole house fan that would draw cooler air into our house and cool the attic at the same time. Dan showed up on time and was able to quickly diagnose that the drain line from the forced air unit to our garden had plugged up and was causing the leak in my home office ceiling. We went out to the garden and when I cleared the drain line the water came pouring out. Dan double checked the attic and the water was no longer backing up so he said we are good and he wouldn't charge for a service call as he didn't really do much. I said he was a great help and we wouldn't hesitate to call him again if we have any more AC or heating problems. Our condo's heater suddenly stopped working. It is a special type of heating system that blows warm air from the hot water heater using a circulator pump. Initially spoke with Lynn to make a Saturday appointment. Stephanie followed up. Then Dan came out to check. Immediately, Dan knew what the problem was (Not all HVAC techs are familiar with this type of heating). He just changed a setting on the thermostat and it worked fine. We were so surprised. I've used this company twice now and will continue to use them because they seem honest. We used to use another company and they were constantly finding problems with our air conditioner that cost $400 every time they came out. They talked my elderly grandfather out of his hard earned money when nothing seemed wrong with the unit. Total 1 AC has come out twice now and said our unit is running fine and they are the only ones I have ever seen wash our unit with a hose. They gave us tips on maintaining it along with advice about how some companies tactics used to get more money out of you for non existing problems. Called the other day and was greeted by on obviously unhappy woman named lynn, she was Short and Rude and Proceeded to tell me it would be several days before anyone could come out. All this before i had even told her what my problem was, I didn't get to talk to this Dan guy who everyone raved about on the reviews so I'm thinking they are fabricated. Business sense starts the second someone answers that phone, so the other 2 places I called were friendly and helpful and came out the next day as they said.
