It's not like a "luxury studio" like Ten Health that has like stocked showers and a clothing shop, but Ten is what I'd call a "gentle" class, frequently much older people in class, and I don't think you get the same results, vs Epoch which will kick your ass and have you feeling the effects for days. I've taken classes from 3 different instructors here, they are all equally hard, which is what I go for. I'm pregnant a the moment so am opting for milder workouts while I'm pregnant, but once i'm postpartum I will definitely be coming here to get my body back in shape fast.

But Blue Cow Yoga is a deliciously proper studio. Right in the middle of the city, it's in a fantastic location. Spacious and very North American. You take your shoes off when you enter, help yourself to free tea or water and pad round to the changing rooms, where they have all amenities including hair straighteners. This I like! Also the abundance of lockers to keep your valuables safe are really appreciated. It's a very chill environment, they get the importance of focus and a peaceful vibe. I came for an inversion workshop and was delighted with the teacher and the experience. Mollie, the teacher, was super patient and explained everything very clearly. While she made it look elegant and easy herself, she took the time with all the beginners to make them feel comfortable. The room was very spacious with lots of white wall space to practice against, and plenty of maps, bolsters and blocks. I am definitely planning on coming back for their free yoga week for newcomers and I'd love to try a treatment too, once I recover from this inversion workout!

As luck would have it last week I received an email from them about 25 quid Bespoke Treatments. Answer to my prayers, little BCY -- answer to my prayers. After being slammed and shoved into planes, delayed in airports, working from bed and overall stress levels escalating, I needed a massage. A good, deep massage. And this is what I got. Which will have hooked me forever, so this marketing campaign to get folks into the studio worked. I'll be a faithful follower of Zoe, who whipped my knotted back and shoulders into shape. Really, very talented. Will be back for the yoga and the massage and the acupuncture -- and whatever else really? Really! It's a beautiful lower level space that feels tranquil and serene amidst the craziness of the City. It's clean, large, spacious, and the staff is friendly without being intrusive. Will return and update about the yoga -- but for now, I can say that I'm feeling mighty fine and relaxed due to that bespoke beatdown. Ahhhhhh.

Walk in, check in at the front desk and they'll send you downstairs to a room without very many directions. It took me a few extra minutes to figure out where the gym & class were, so if it's your first time, make sure you allocate at least 5 extra minutes. Class: More focused on core and legs, and didn't do too much with arms. It was fine for me, but if you're looking for a more upper body workout, you may not be getting much with this. The class is pretty fast-paced, so not the best if you're a beginner or have never taken a reformer class. Instructor: I had Jess, who was great. High-energy, friendly, and was paying attention to correct posture/form. Music: Pretty high energy music that you may find in a dance club in Europe (but with vocals). I like this type of music, so I appreciated it, but if you don't like this kind of music, you may want to avoid it. I'd definitely come back here again on another visit in London. Happy that they are on Classpass, as it makes it easy to try the class out.

I'm not a fan of the changing room, there is one that feels both cramped and on display as the door is permanently open to the main hall. There are two toilets, a few showers and a changing area with hairdryers. There is a charge to use towels but lockers are in the hall are free. I like the small waiting area as the tables come in handy before class. Their shakes are made fresh daily and delicious. Good selection of snacks and smoothies along with workout clothes. Now you can rent a kit if you forgot yours at home, no excuse to skip your workout! There are other locations so if this isn't convenient it's worth checking out. I will be back to sweat!

Changing room wise, it does get quite congested around class time, especially as they have a few studios. I definitely have to squash to use the hairdressers and bench space. I guess that's what you get when a place is the new PLACE!! Shower wise you get products to use, which is great if you're forgetful like me. The only downside with the showers was I struggled to get hot water, but I didn't hear anyone else having a problem, so I guess I just need to figure them out... The studios are a good size and I can only speak for the Pilates equipment, but the reformer machines were top quality and no budget was spared. Cafe wise, they do a wide range of healthy juices and smoothies, which is a good touch! I got a super healthy green juice, which I loved! It wasn't cheap at £4.50, but it's the perfect tonic after a hard workout. Classes aren't cheap, so if you're looking for a budget option, this isn't the place. Initially I was less committed, but as I began to understand my own potential and got better at not comparing myself to others in class (mainly worrying I would never be as flexible or as strong as my fellow classmates!) I started to attend more regularly. Yoga with Hana and Aya is dynamic, challenging and fun. I go along to 2-3 classes a week now and love everything about them; the friendly and welcoming attitude, the wonderful opportunity to practice outside in beautiful Finsbury Park and the excellent teaching. The indoor class at the Redmond Centre on a Monday night is close to home making it brilliantly convenient as an after work exercise option with not far to go after the class has finished! With its clean, large, spacious studio overlooking the West Reservoir at Woodberry Grove, the centre offers a great, enlightening space for practice. Hana clearly and intelligently provides superb direction ensuring you can appreciate the true purpose of each asana. Using the full time of the class (an hour in the park, an hour & 30mins in the centre), she encourages us to be curious and explore postures, not to adopt a one size fits all approach, making for a safer practice and teaching for all attending. The classes are intense, the work goes deep and the benefits stay with you throughout the week. I've met many new friends through Hana's classes, workshops and retreats and regularly recommend her to friends, neighbours and colleagues.

I am a keen runner and rock climber and I find that Mindful Movements Vinyasa Flow keeps me in tiptop condition. The classes outdoors are an ideal way to get some fresh air and nature into my weekends and I also love the ambience of the candle evening classes at Islington Arts Factory and the Redmond Community Centre. Definitely the best Yoga you can find local to N4 for really reasonable prices!

This has got to be the most uninviting studio with languid and incompetent counter staff despite the studio being nearly empty when I arrived. The teacher also only made adjustments for regular students and completely ignored me for the entire class (the class had only 10 attendees). Her voice was not soothing. Transitions were awkward and there was no "flow." The other yoga students are nice but for such a beautiful brand new modern space equipped with showers, the lack of traffic makes it seem utterly cold - the irony only intensified by the myriad posters of smiling people in poses. This made me really miss my studio in New York (modo west village). Another issue I'm surprised no one mentioned are the incredibly thin yoga mats - sure they're "complimentary" but awful for your knees. I don't know HOW they can spend tons on the space without doing very basic research into the mats. I don't even think they are medically safe for hot yoga bc they have zero padding. Summary: Depressing studio with a mediocre teacher. Great facilities. Dangerous, cheap mats. Will be commuting back to Triyoga instead. from a financial perspective, this studio might go out of business if it doesn't work on such things. I'd personally avoid investing in a membership here.

I'd show up with a smile, ready to get my stretch on, and staff would routinely ignore me when I tried to sign in for my class and act as if I was putting them through some first class torture. Certainly didn't find it warm or inviting. I don't know if it's the location, but a lot of the students were surprisingly unfriendly and the studio had such a weird pretentious vibe, and it made going there very uncomfortable for me at times. I'm not a stranger to yoga, and this was the first time I'd ever visited a studio where I routinely felt angry or sad after a class. The bathrooms are nice and clean, but far far too tiny with poor ventilation. I have to bob and weave to keep from bumping into someone after a class empties out because there's nowhere to stand while waiting for a locker. I paid a pretty penny for a 6 month membership and kept going just to get my money's worth, but won't renew. It's a shame, because one of the teachers I absolutely loved and the Iyengar classes(well, with the teacher who wasn't incredibly abrasive and ignored most of the new people) were wonderful. Unfortunately, I just felt too turned off to keep going back. If you can tune out the negative vibes, I'd recommend it for the Iyengar. But for me, the feel of a studio is just as important as the classes themselves. Still on the lookout for my studio match!
