Our trainer, Monica, was excellent with Daisy and what I loved most about her was that she would explain to us how she was training our dog and also why she would do something a certain way. A lot of times she would comment about how this reinforces some sort of behavior or would boost Daisy's confidence, etc. At one point of our training Daisy didn't take well to the previous lesson (down lesson) and Daisy wasn't receptive to the next training session and was extremely nervous and jittery. Monica picked up on this right away and instead of just charging through, took a step back to assess the situation and told us that this lesson would be free since Daisy wasn't herself and even considered bringing another trainer in. We were extremely appreciative of this gesture and found it to be very considerate and professional. We were a little nervous starting out the training because Daisy is an extremely sensitive and submissive dog, but at the end of the training (which was today) her confidence levels are much higher and she seems to be a much happier dog!!! Daisy is far from perfect but her discipline and manners are getting better every day and we love seeing her progress and growth. We highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training. We did a ton of research and even met with other companies but we could not have been happier with our choice.

We were HAPPILY surprised to hear back from Bob and within a few short hours, Diesel is HAPPILY going out with us to the back yard. Wether it's a car ride, hiking, swimming or maybe go to the mall. I wanted a dog that can do many tricks and impress my friends and family while protecting us anywhere we go. I started researching online and discovered that such a dog can cost anywhere from $50k to a $120k (not kidding). Not willing to spend this kind of money, I decided to go a different route. I started my search for a good working lines German shepherd dog breeder and found one locally. I got my pup around 8 weeks old and wanted to find a good dog trainer right away. After countless days of speaking to different trainers, I came across Nick through Facebook and decided to give him a try. From the moment I spoke to Nick, I knew that he was a great fit for Apollo. He explained to me that this is a project dog and cannot be completed overnight and will require different courses throughout my puppy's development which I happily agreed to. I sent Apollo in for the very first time at 3 months old for his first 2 weeks program. It made a huge difference. I couldn't believe that it was the same dog. Apollo was crate trained, obedient and was able to learn more than 7 commands in German. Apollo is 7 months old now and I just dropped him off to Nick for another 2 weeks. I can't wait to see what my pup can learn this time! It's really hard to find a dog trainer that can handle Apollo's level of energy. I will not let anyone touch Apollo but Nick.

We initially thought we'd foster her for adoption due to her dog aggression issues. After working with Travis, we decided togive Rosie a forever home ourselves. We brought Travis in to privately train her so she didn't have to deal with the stress of a group setting and because we wanted a tailored training program. With Lone Star Dog Training, we received an excellent job. Travis educated us about how training is important and what results he felt we could see. Over the course of 4 months, Rosie went from being aggressive toward our other dogs to feeling safe and comfortable with them. She's even adopted our 12 year old border terrier as her sister. Rosie has progressed from a frightened stray who did not wag her tail or understand how to take affection, to bounding and leaping with joy when she sees her people. She now seeks out our affections and looks forward to spending time with us. If not for Lone Star Dog Training, we would not have decided to keep her. She is a team lead who acts as if she is a manager. She acts as a self appointed manager even though that isn't her role nor job. She does not know how to speak to people, she is very verbally aggressive and was constantly antagonizing me and other coworkers. One of the run ins that I had with her was, right before I quit I had gotten sick (due to frequent changes in weather), and was trying to call in because of that fact. She informed me that I had to have a doctor's note to be able to call out. The issue with that is that we only get paid $10/hr and doctor visits are very expensive. It doesn't make sense to have to provide a doctor's note for a call-out because of me being sick. Especially because before that timeframe, it was failed to be communicated with me that it is a requirement to provide a doctor's note for a call-out due to me being under the weather. Not to mention that for all the work that we do, $10/hr is not a livable wage especially in this economy. Valería is the reason that I quit working here at Canine Country Club. She made it a very hostile work environment and spoke to me and other coworkers poorly and in a disrespectful manner often with no repercussions. She has had multiple instances of snapping at employees, belittling them, gossiping to people that she's close with and walking away from people while a conversation is actively being had. It should also be known that she has been put on leave previously for the same exact behavior and was allowed to come back as if nothing happened. I didn't report her behavior towards me because, I was scared of possible retaliation and the fear of my situation not being taken seriously. With all that being said, I think that Valería Alvarez treats her job as if it's an obligation and not a privilege. She should not be able to continue to treat people this way with no repercussions. The fact that she was even allowed back in the first place AFTER the first time as if nothing happened is repulsive and disturbing.

My dogs are accustomed to being around, just our family and don't always be friend new people readily. They immediately took to the owner, Brian. Our dogs are on a diet where they have a mixture of dry and wet food that require refrigeration or freezing. That was no problem at all for the owner to accommodate. The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. I will definitely use Hicks Farm again and I highly recommend them!

Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.
