I didn't know she was a junior stylist until I was already seated, I noticed the she were asking her colleagues for opinions/suggestions and that's when I realized that she's probably a junior stylist. I wanted to get a very light blonde ombre and because I dyed my hair red before it was really hard to get to the colour I wanted. Brittany, Nicole and Stephanie were really great on giving Tania their suggestions and tips on how to come to the most possible colour i wanted. It took us over 4 hours to get my ombre done since I had red dye before. Tania was very patient and nice... and I like how she's not overly talkative, I hate it when when my hairdresser talks too much when all you want to do is relax and read your book. The ladies here are all very nice and helpful, nice ambiance! I'm not sure why is there reviews regarding the service prices. I think it's pretty reasonable, it's almost the same prices as everywhere else. Though I paid cheaper since I got a junior stylist but even then I think a master hairstylist is a fair price. Keep in mind though that it's easy to miss this place, there's no signage on the window that says Mint Lounge, apparently the sign is high up.

We live in the same building so I went down a week ahead, spoke to the receptionist, specifically asked to speak up a senior/ experienced stylist as I have lots and lots of hair ( literally) and I wanted someone to take the job only if they understood it. So I get referred to this senior stylist who comes out, touches my hair and says no biggie it will take 1.15 hrs. All good, I book my appointment. I come back the day of, apparently the same day one of their stylist quit and they were trying to book clients with available stylist left and right. My appointment was at 6 am and they were calling someone who had an appointment at 6.45pm to let her know someone else ( person I was booked with) will take their appointment. Wonder what they did all morning!!!! I could tell the client is pissed on the other side. So my appointment doesn't start till 6.10am and she is done within 6.45pm ( because obviously she has someone pissed and waiting). At this point I am just glad to get a hair cut after the baby was born, as losing hair sent me to panic mode. So I wasn't expecting an amazing hair cut, a mediocre one would do just fine. So it was - very very mediocre for someone labeled as experienced and charging high rate. What I didn't appreciate was how she kept telling me- my hair would be in some " shock" because I cut it short ( from shoulder length to bob) and may not look as perfect before settling down!!! LOL- girl if you haven't done a good job, stop BS ing and keep quite. I wasn't giving you any pain as my expectations were low so no need to talk nonsense. And stop labelling your stylist as " experience" when they don't have a clue. Also doesn't appreciate booking people on for 1.15 hours and doing a haphazard job in 30 mins. Now as a single parent this was a treat to myself both financially as well as for time away. At my consultation I was Sold on the new idea of instead of a reg. Cut/colour correction (back from dark brown to natural brown) that the hairstylist could give me a beautiful caramel/blonde balayage. Showed me photos directly from her phone. (This would allow me to grow out the top naturally). Fast forward to my appointment, 4-5hrs later my hair was done and curled for me by the stylist, my bill was well into the hundreds of dollars not including the box of products I bought into. With my bouncy curls and short hair I went home ecstatic, I loved it! (I have thick hair went from bum length to shoulder blade) Now the following day after a wash and dry Myself and family realized not only was the cut of my thick shorter hair straight across making it look like a helmet, but in the direct back of my head there were 2 massive bleach clumps dragged from my crown down to the ends!!! Biggest ugliest streaks directly in the back of my head! (The exact size of the brush full and through) Now here's my REAL PROBLEM! I called to make a complaint and request a fix, I was strung along by the receptionists, as well as manager until finally they said Angelo wanted to see my hair for himself.. so that's what we did.
