Dys-Functional medicine with Dr. Scott I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired and was excited to get my health on track with functional medicine. The "Free consultation" was probably less than 15-20 min. I had no experience with functional doctors so I didn't really know what to expect. My first appointment following the consult was around the same amount of time and I was charged about $500+. The second appointment was again about 15 -20 min. and I was given blood draw orders and a stool test kit and charged over $3000+ for I guess the next 3 months. The appointment discussing my test results was again rather short and severely lacking and I was given some supplements and told to go on an elimination diet for 6 weeks. The only guidance was a list of foods I can have and a list of foods I cannot have, there was a website listed that had maybe 5 recipes. I was going in every 2 weeks and pretty much just told him how I was feeling and what my poop looked like and he told me to continue for another 2 weeks because apparently my gut was not healed and poop is the indicator of a healed gut. I told him I was having difficulty with the cooking aspect without having much to work with resource wise and he would just shake his head and say, "You just gotta push through. Yeah you gotta food prep make soups and stews and a lot." At the 12 weeks mark of being on this diet I just happened upon a video about Elimination and Reintroduction and thought "Hey that's what I'm doing." So I watched it and learned that there's the Core AIP diet and the Modified AIP diet and there was so much information offered up for free in this video but Dr. Scott hadn't offered up any of this info to me. With that I lost all confidence in Dr. Scott. I don't think he has any idea what he's doing. I don't this he cares for his patients in the slightest bit. He pushes you in and out of really quick visits every 2 weeks for nothing. $$$ I looked around and found another functional Dr. who specializes in women's health. Their questionnaire is 19 pages long, talk about thorough. They test for much MUCH more including hormones. I brought my test results from Dr. Scott and was shown the vast difference in testing. My first visit was an hour long consultation really explaining EVERYTHING and asking so many questions about my lifestyle and home and work environment. I have so much more confidence in my new functional Dr. actually having my best interest in mind and truly caring for me and my health. Dr. Scott mentions thyroid a lot but I have since found that his testing is not even close to adequate. Please!!! Started going to Total Health Center in July 2025. Started with Dr. Scott doing Chiropractic care for a former injury. I started on a program going twice a week then once a week to every two weeks and now once a month . During this time they also offer massages . I started getting massages once a month . I have had many massages in the past and by far this has been the best massage I have ever had . Now since October I have been seeing Dr Scott for Holistic care . The main reason I started this type of care is I have for years been taking care of everyone and working seven days a week 10 to 14 hours days . My health and well being were put on hold for many years and in June of 2025 I quit my job and decide to start caring for myself . Dr Scott was recommended by a friend and now I'm recommending him to anyone who needs help with getting their life back physically, emotionally, mentally and healthier. Waste of time and waste of money, go elsewhere for minor back pain or etc....Plus it's much cheaper than going here with no results, I didn't even feel welcomed or felt like he cared....Dr. Scott had the nerve to try to get me to enroll in a 3 month plan for $1200, and no info to help with pain before another visit, I had to ask all the questions, like meds , heat or ice pack etc to ease pain...I'm very disappointed for a minor back pain, $200 wasted for adjustments that he did since last week that didn't help at all , I found another place today that's much cheaper, my first visit today with them I felt welcomed and got a adjustment done correctly with them and immediately felt relief....Stay away from this place, plans should be for pple who got sever pain etc like from a car accident, arthritis and etc, I will not return and don't recommend this place I would give 0 stars if I could....I don't see why he have good reviews at all....Updated review from 11 mos ago read more

I have been searching for this t type of healthcare for years. I didn't think it existed in southern Idaho. What makes them stand out is that they listen, understand and care about you. I had a good first few appointments and would recommend this place. The only problem is I can't afford to continue. I have 2 children and don't make a lot of money. I was disappointed after spending quite a bit of money on my first few appointments only to be offered a plan that was way out of my price range. I didn't say anything there because I was so flabbergasted and didn't want to look like a person who made Pennie's. I would love to continue because my health is important but the price is not affordable. Even with a plan of 18 months is out of my price range. I have to pay for childcare for my children so I can go to work and not leave them home alone. I have to pay a mortgage and groceries are very expensive. I also have to load up my car with gas that is about 4 dollars a gallon. I live paycheck to paycheck. I don't understand how anyone can afford a bill close to 4000 dollars for 3 months. Maybe this place doesn't realize how the average person lives. I'm ready to do the program but cannot afford in the least. It's not even that I don't want to do it. I'm amazed that the price is that high. My heart dropped when I saw the price because I knew it wasn't possible. Bad first impression of Dr Scott. Went to the "seminar" today, Oct 29th, 2016. Arrived 8 mins late and he made it a point to call me out on it. About 10 mins later during his talk I asked a question and he pointed out that if I was on time I would have been informed that questions were to be withheld until he is finished with his presentation. BTW, questions were never invited afterward, however he did welcome sign ups. I never bothered to explain to him that I was late because I stopped to give assistance to a stranger on my way to his center. I was really,really put off by him so thought I should just get whatever info I could and get the hell out of there. Just keep in mind this "seminar" is to find more patients not entertain questions. To be fair, his knowledge base regarding thyroid disease is very solid. I found only one flaw in his lecture: he apparently is not familiar with the existence of telephone consults and that they have associated billing codes. I was turned off by how easily he took to insulting me twice in the presence of the other attendees so I decided right away I'd look for another practitioner. I don't know about you but I don't believe in overlooking a medical provider's character just to benefit from their medical skills. I have yet to arrive at that desperation point. The expectation is to be treated professionally in every way at each visit but I have no confidence that Dr Scott can meet that expectation after being so offensive and condescending towards me. read more
